The person in the pic Master Kenakko provided really seems to picture an Irish hero … but the uniform does not meet those of the times when Patrick Sarsfield was living. It comes close to the uniforms the Irish officers wore at the “Easter Rising”. Here you might find a connection to the idea of the range called “Irish Heroes”. (I do not recall all those marvel-faces in Dublin exactly)
I always wondered why in 1995 “King Arthur” became a Christmas figure as obviously he’s not part of Tolkien’s Work.
Regarding the shape and structure of the base in the pic I would like to say that that one fits with the early 52mm releases such as the MA1. oval
