By way of a change a few images of all those little people just waiting to be painted will I ever get to the end of ’em ๐
Still, since these were taken I have made a small dent and should have some more painted images to post soon .

October 18, 2011 at 10:46 pm #20928This is quiet interesting indeed, Mister David Daines!!!!
I see you have had the opportunity to buy those “zvesda” ships . . . ?
That reminds me, that I have the Nina for my never-will-begin-grey-heavens-diorama.Very nice to see your “working-atmosphere” !
October 19, 2011 at 7:44 am #20929I see it is quite a crowd in David’s part of Middle-earth !

Lot of work to do, Mr. Daines.
I only have 40-50 mithril miniatures still waiting to be painted, and for me is a lot ๐
Step by step, and being constant and patient
October 19, 2011 at 2:37 pm #20932Err, well, yes … To me all this appears to be slightly disorganized ….
Master Ddaines I really wish you very many happy years to come in which you’ll find some time to paint, assemble our beloved tiny-metal-things and even find the time for putting some of them in wonderful dioramas …. wishing you all the bestOctober 19, 2011 at 5:05 pm #20935Turambar wrote:This is quiet interesting indeed, Mister David Daines!!!!

The ‘Crusader’ Cog is almost complete now and I just have to finish off the crew . I originally had the hull as one piece, but have taken off the bottom half to form the basis of ‘The Last Elven Ship’ for my Grey Havens scene which I will start ๐ (and finish one day).
October 19, 2011 at 5:51 pm #20936the angmar standard bearer half-troll is pure class.

p.s. did you notice the Revell La Reale de France on the top shelf? Originally for the Corsairs, but it seems to grand for them so I will use it for the Tar-Minastir figure and hope I can find a crew to man her
October 19, 2011 at 8:01 pm #20941Yes, David ! But I didnยดt know it is from Revell.
La Real de France “seems” to be the perfect ship for the corsairs. Without any doubt!
I saw it two years ago at the DUZI and I came to the same conclusion, that the scale doesnยดt fit . . . .
I am still not quiet sure about the “Zvesda”-scale of the “Nina” . . . So I am curious about your project.
I remember “Earendil the mariner” ! I read this part again during my holidays.October 19, 2011 at 8:48 pm #20946The Cog scale fits Mithril perfectly (if you allow for a tight fit through the hatch leading up to the quarter deck), but I don’t know if this company produces every kit that they sell or if they have brought Moulds from other companies and re-release them. The detail of the Cog is very well done.
I was going to hold back from posting images until this project was finished, but what the hell…. , it will give you an idea of scale comparison.

October 19, 2011 at 11:02 pm #20964Keep on working on this project, David. It looks terrific !!!
And what a fantastic sail !!!! What the heck . . . always a pleasure to see some pictures of current work in progress !!!!PS: the scale of my Zvezda “Nina” is 1:100 while the Coq is 1:72 . . .

I know exactly where every figure is :lol: (not). Actually this is the initial transfer from their previous home – I must sort everything out by race/type so that I know what I have to ‘play’ with for future projects.
October 21, 2011 at 12:03 pm #21041I have no doubt you are managing everything well David

The paintwork on the sail, is superb
Truly master of dioramas!
October 24, 2011 at 5:15 pm #21176Thank you kindly sir although I have admit that the design is not my own creation (http://wiki.lindefirion.net/GondorFlags). I am going to adapt it to my own needs however and will also add a black banner with the White Tree to give it a kind of ‘post’ LotR setting.
Next step is to colour the sea , should get me swearing ๐
October 25, 2011 at 7:18 am #21189Very interesting link Master David… and also… useful….
