Friends and Foes of Mithril !
The second book is so packed with different stories and scenes I have made almost 100 pictures trying to recreate it with the painted figures of my Mithril collection.
I will show here a selection of the best pictures I made showing the Fellowship in Moria, Lothlorien and Amon Hen. Hope you enjoy!
Part I – The start of the Fellowship
Frodo meets Bilbo at Rivendel

[imgz url=http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/1188_mazarbul_01.jpg]http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/thumbs/1188_mazarbul_01.jpg[/imgz]

[imgz url=http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/1188_mazarbul_05.jpg]http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/thumbs/1188_mazarbul_05.jpg[/imgz]

A troll wants to enter, but Frodo uses Sting to drive him back:
[imgz url=http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/1188_mazarbul_13.jpg]http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/thumbs/1188_mazarbul_13.jpg[/imgz]
Steady…

Here comes the first Goblin:
[imgz url=http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/1188_mazarbul_24.jpg]http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/thumbs/1188_mazarbul_24.jpg[/imgz]
February 28, 2017 at 3:17 pm #35763I really like the story! 😆
February 28, 2017 at 3:55 pm #35764Part IIb : Attack of the Goblins
The goblins are coming in…
[imgz url=http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/1188_mazarbul_28.jpg]http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/thumbs/1188_mazarbul_28.jpg[/imgz]
Boromir defends the hobbits ; a goblin who is pointing his spear at Frodo will be shot by Legolas!
[imgz url=http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/1188_mazarbul_39.jpg]http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/thumbs/1188_mazarbul_39.jpg[/imgz]
Many casualties among the goblins…
[imgz url=http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/1188_mazarbul_41.jpg]http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/thumbs/1188_mazarbul_41.jpg[/imgz]
The goblins are fleeing, but the heavy troll comes through ; Aragorn and Boromir can’t stop him!
[imgz url=http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/1188_mazarbul_48.jpg]http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/thumbs/1188_mazarbul_48.jpg[/imgz]
With united forces the heroes can defeat the troll, but too late : Frodo has already been hit!
[imgz url=http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/1188_mazarbul_50.jpg]http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/thumbs/1188_mazarbul_50.jpg[/imgz]
Aragorn takes Frodo in his arms and carries him to the exit, following the others (but he must be careful not to cut the hobbit with his sword
[imgz url=http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/1188_mazarbul_52.jpg]http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/thumbs/1188_mazarbul_52.jpg[/imgz]

March 3, 2017 at 2:42 pm #35778Part IIIa : The Bridge of Khazad-Dum
Descending the stairs in Moria
[imgz url=http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/1188_khazaddum_03.jpg]http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/thumbs/1188_khazaddum_03.jpg[/imgz]
Some Uruk archers from Mordor appear in the holes between the rocks, while the goblins pursuit the Fellowship.
[imgz url=http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/1188_khazaddum_04.jpg]http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/thumbs/1188_khazaddum_04.jpg[/imgz]
Lucky for the Fellowship, the stairs have had their best times…
[imgz url=http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/1188_khazaddum_05.jpg]http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/thumbs/1188_khazaddum_05.jpg[/imgz]
But in the Dwarven halls, goblins and trolls appears in every hole, doorway and stairway, they come from all over the place!
[imgz url=http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/1188_khazaddum_13.jpg]http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/thumbs/1188_khazaddum_13.jpg[/imgz]
The Fellowship members run for their lives!
[imgz url=http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/1188_khazaddum_22.jpg]http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/thumbs/1188_khazaddum_22.jpg[/imgz]
They are surrounded!
[imgz url=http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/1188_khazaddum_34.jpg]http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/thumbs/1188_khazaddum_34.jpg[/imgz]
March 3, 2017 at 3:02 pm #35779+1 to Master Storyteller! ^^ or bard or something similar
Thank you for sharing, these little histories can encourage people to engage mithril!March 6, 2017 at 2:57 pm #35781Yes, that’s also my idea…
But let’s continue with Part IIIb: The Balrog
Suddenly the Goblins get feared by an approaching dark force, they all disappear into the corners…
[imgz url=http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/1188_khazaddum_35.jpg]http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/thumbs/1188_khazaddum_35.jpg[/imgz]
The force reveals itself : a Balrog from the ancient eras. Boromir blows his horn, but without result.
[imgz url=http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/1188_khazaddum_37.jpg]http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/thumbs/1188_khazaddum_37.jpg[/imgz]
The fellowship runs over the Bridge of Khazad-Dûm to escape, only Gandalf holds still to face the demon (don’t look at the black papers, they are meant to represent the darkness of the depths beneath the bridge).
[imgz url=http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/1188_khazaddum_43.jpg]http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/thumbs/1188_khazaddum_43.jpg[/imgz]
Gandalf withstands the Balrog with all his magical powers (we all know what he said) ; Aragorn and Boromir come to the aid.
[imgz url=http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/1188_khazaddum_56.jpg]http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/thumbs/1188_khazaddum_56.jpg[/imgz]
‘You shall not pass!’
[imgz url=http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/1188_khazaddum_57.jpg]http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/thumbs/1188_khazaddum_57.jpg[/imgz]
But also Gandalf disappears into the depths, after speaking his last words: ‘Run, you fools!’
[imgz url=http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/1188_khazaddum_58.jpg]http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/thumbs/1188_khazaddum_58.jpg[/imgz]
