      Dear mates, I am going through a revision of my collection, and I have found that I have two different Aragorn regarding this reference [mith]M124[/mith]. And I do not know if a variant should be registered, or at least noted on the database or something…

      The old version has PAM’88 scripted on the base and its made as a single piece, whereas the “new” one has C.Tubb 1990 and has the arm with the sword as a separate piece. As a result of this, the folds of the cape that cover the top of the right shoulder is a bit different.

      Will try to upload some pictures if that helps to visualize this fact.

          Hoping that some master collector passes by to shine some light upon this. :)

            I also noticed this about [mith]M124[/mith] and I have put both in my glass cabinet.
            I will update its description in MMP database

              mmhh I think the difference comes the blistered version and th boxed set version or the [mith]MC12[/mith] version ? (i don’t know if the MC12 is underlabelled M124 or MC12 )

                You are right master Gildor, it came with [mith]MC12[/mith] which is labelled M124 below base.

                  Ah! So then I have one M124 and one “MC12” if I understood well…

                  And thank you both for your fast answer! :)

                    Just for database purposes…. and to clarify :)

                    [mith]M124[/mith] is single piece (Marked as M124 and PAM’88 on its base)
                    [mith]MC12[/mith] is made from two pieces, arm and sword + body (Marked as M124 and C.Tubb 1990 on its base)

                      Well, I checked all 5 M124 I have and it appears base marking is never the same.

                      As MC12 was released only in 1997, so my guess is

                      1988: 1st original M124 is single piece. Marked “mithril M124” at least, and sometimes “PAM’88” on its base;

                      1990: 2nd variant M124 version is in 2 parts (Strider, arm with sword), Marked “mithril M124 S, C. Tubb 1990″ and some “ C” on its base;

                      1997: MC12 is only a reuse of 2nd variant M124

                        please don’t forget there is a third copy of M124 which is the one sold in the “Fellowship boxed set” [mith]MB237[/mith] (not to forthcoming re-edition)

                        Personnaly I never got the M124 nor MC12, I just had the MB237. maybe I should check to see which one it is… but those figs are in boxes in my cave, that will be hard to find a single mini in all those boxes

                          Ho, well spotted Master Gildor. I think you have found the 1990 version origin. ;)

                            Huoommm …. now, that’s an excellent research about those M142 figure(s), Master Milo. You have all of my respect for that. Thank you very much.

                              Thanks! I just can add to what Milo said…

                              I know the origin of two of the M124 I own, and they are both from the boxed set, but very old indeed, since they were given to me as a present when I was in my teens. The other M124 I have (the one that has two pieces and is marked as C. Tubb 1990, with an S and a 7) came to me in a set alongside other minis, so I do not know its real origin. (Never bought M124, neither MC12 on purpose)
