I received a mail from Chris Tubb asking me to forward this info to as many collectors as possible using my forum for communication purposes (he likes it a lot hehe!)
so here is a copy of the message :
Quote:“I will be selling the second set of figures from the un-released Mithril
Mw346 Warbands set “Dwarves of the Iron hills” on Ebay next Sunday 23rd November at 21.00 U.K. time (GMT).
They will be sold in the usual buy-it-now format. This set comprises 4 figures, representing the royal dwarven bodyguards. Please note that none of the dwarves in this series are primed.

Well, last news about them Dwarven bodyguards I received early this year was that they were planned to be released this autumn. And so it will be.
To those being interested in this matter I might add that the Dwarven Command (3 Figures) was sold for 50 GBP.
To me all that is good news, as it is a second step to build up the Mw346December 3, 2008 at 1:37 pm #3712Any chance for more sets on this one?
After pausing for some month (house, children, work, etc) I returned to miss the dwarfs just by two mere days
December 3, 2008 at 2:41 pm #3713Of course I cannot be sure, Axel, but I’m afraid Chris Tubb sold all the sets he intended to sell. The next chance might be on Ebay when “Mr Drizz” will offer the sets he bought. But here we can be sure that they will be very expensive.
December 3, 2008 at 6:49 pm #3716I really wish Chris would limit the sales to two per person. Where is the point in offering the sets cheap and not via auction when a good deal of them only end up to fill the pockets of others. I will have to pay the higher price this time, but I would rather have send that money to Chris.
December 3, 2008 at 8:36 pm #3718I am sorry about that Axel, Chris tried to contact you as well as many other people in email prior to the auction, and asked me to use this forum as information ressource for this… he lost many of his email contacts and many of his closest collector friends may not have received warning (his laptop had an accident he lost every contact… but I provided him yours so you should have received a mail warning…)
Chris is using Ebay for fair play reasons… everybody could have a chance to get the figurine… but they are indeed limited.. and also ebay does not allow to authorize quotas or he would use it.. Trust me I think he is really upset to see people buying them by five or six to only resell them later…
Experience has thaught me that Chris always keep a “safety” amount after his ebay first sales… he may still have some he did not put on ebay and I am sure that if you contact him and explain the problem he MAY have a remaining set (but this is only extrapolation of mine)December 8, 2008 at 10:22 pm #3810I am hesitant to contact Chris just because I managed to miss the auction. If everybody would do that Chris will soon stop to react to such postings, and since its largely my own fault that I did not check up here regularly I will probably just bide my time until the bodyguards come along at ebay.
On the “quotas”… – while ebay does not allow for setting quotas, there is one tool that can enforce them quite nicely. You can blacklist buyers, so that they will not be able to bid on your auctions.
While excluding buyers is not usually what you want to do when you sell something, it might be just the threat that people need to keep a limit that Chris (or whoever) asks nicels to respect. If not, this could be the last hoarding of Chris specials by a particular buyer (of course this last sale would still be fullfilled, but it would be the “last”). As a collector I would tread very carefully NOT to get into Chris blacklist
Chris minis will surely continue to sell at HIS rates, and it would mean a fixture for the problem. Other then that, I would MUCH prefer real auctions instead of the “first comes” base.
December 8, 2008 at 11:57 pm #3814real auctions would not be fair master Axel… Chris does not want to see the episode of the Christmas 1988 repeat itself… He felt very bad after this auction and the price going that high…
December 14, 2008 at 10:23 am #3860If you sell 30 of a kind in a multiauction, the price will remain on a sensible level.
Remeber that the price is set by the first person who fails to win. At one item this means the second highest bid sets the price. At a multiauction the 31st highest bid sets the price for all, and I doubt that there are so many rich and nutty people out there that the item will become unaffordable for us “normals” (well, as normal as you can be with our affliction).
Perhaps Chris can test the waters by selling his next PM vignette this way.
August 9, 2009 at 3:51 pm #6339Hear Ye! Hear Ye!
the new set of MW346 dwarves will be for sale on ebay soon! here is C.Tubb message!
Quote:[…] I will be holding a buy-it-now auction for the next set of Mw346 Mithril dwarves next Sunday ( 16th August) at 21.00 hours. They comprise a set of 4 Dwarf swordsmen. […](this is indeed 9pm London Time I suppose, so be careful with timezones).. I’ll post pics (If he gives me any) when I have them!
Ready your ebays accountsAugust 9, 2009 at 4:16 pm #6340Huoommm I announced that in the ‘Pony’ a while ago … nevertheless I also always have that problem with those time zones … the only country I know of in Europe is named Portugal which comes closest to that Greenwich Mean Time. Anyway, it’s nice to meet some more Dwarves.
August 9, 2009 at 5:45 pm #6343(well ahem, i may have been away actually… Chris just asked me to post it today on the forum… I did it as soon as he asked me to do so)
August 9, 2009 at 8:24 pm #6346Well, Gildor, I didn’ want to criticize you. As a matter of fact I also was informed about this matter … and I’m sure we’re not the only ones ….
August 10, 2009 at 8:18 am #6356I am very curious about thos e pics, as usual. Dwarven swordsmen, as mentioned by Master Theobald- very interesting indeed !
PS: Gildor- what does master Elwe means . . . ?August 10, 2009 at 9:09 am #6358(Elwë Singollo is the birthname quenya name of “Elu Thingol”, or Thingol, which is sindarin and means “gray mantle”) Since I am Noldo myself, I use the quenya language thus calling Thingol, Elwë
(that’s off topic )
August 16, 2009 at 10:19 pm #6468so it seems they are all gone! I saw the pics of them on ebay they were quite unique in their kind… but I could not manage to check how many of them were for sale?…
August 16, 2009 at 10:40 pm #647130 sets all in all … 3 people bought 3 sets of them each, one bought 5 sets … that are forteen sets … all the others went as single purchases … that’s what I know … I don’t know why this time there were 30 sets offered … the last sets were less …
anyway, by now I enlarged the tiny picture of the swordmen … they are “unique in their kind” indeed, Gildor. So far we have not seen any Dwarven swordsmen in the Mithril range.[imgz url=http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/9_swordmen.jpg]http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/thumbs/9_swordmen.jpg[/imgz]
August 17, 2009 at 1:00 pm #6492Estel, here in Germany they were seen about 20 seconds too late after 10pm … I don’t know if it was because of the server or my lame PC.
August 17, 2009 at 2:04 pm #6502Here in Australia I haven’t even seen the listing lol!
