Corsairs finished, photgraphed and submitted! Images will be posted here soon. Anyone else entering?
April 19, 2008 at 1:36 pm #1928They’re in the Gallery Ken.
April 19, 2008 at 3:31 pm #1929Yes, I’ve seen yours and very fine work indeed David! But are we the only ones? That is what I wanted to know. I suspect not and I also think there are many good painters out there. I doubt if Mithril will post anything but the winning entires. I’m interested in seeing the work of others.
April 19, 2008 at 5:19 pm #1930I was lucky enough to have a chat with the man today at Salute and he said they seem to be selling well so hopefully a fair few should appear.
I’m more of a ‘look at the overall effect’ painter than a small scale painter (long gone are the days when I could paint a figures eyes at that scale)
but I reckon some of the real miniature artists out there will come up with some painted ‘gems’ especially with the incentive of the Knights set.April 19, 2008 at 7:05 pm #1932I will finished my corsairs next week.
So we are three!

April 19, 2008 at 9:06 pm #1933Great Zoetrop! And good luck! What about Wendy, Presto and Ori (and any others!)?
April 27, 2008 at 3:05 pm #2017I hung some pictures up in Sam’s gallery, but I’m not sure they’re level! I hope others do the same because I don’t think we’ll see much on the Mithril website. At least not for a while…
April 30, 2008 at 11:50 pm #2061Sadly, My corsairs will remain in port for this deployment. I actually got my chosen five assembled and primed, but just did not have the time to paint them up. Tomorrow, finally, is my last day of classes for this semester, and I’ll hopefully have more time to paint between now and September!
May 1, 2008 at 1:37 pm #2068Sorry to hear that Presto. Despite my firm belief to the contrary, they have posted the Corsairs contest entries on the Mithril website (Michael is a webmaster after all!). There are some great entries so the competition is stiff! I wouldn’t want to be a judge. There’s some really cool stuff there…check it out!
May 1, 2008 at 1:57 pm #2069I also checked out the galleries this morning, and was favorably impressed! It was nice to see that I came up with some of the same ideas, lash marks on the backs of the slave figures, and facial tatooing on the bald guy. (I was thinking more Maori though…) I was very impressed by how well some of the painters rendered stripes and embroidery on the cloth. cool stuff.
May 1, 2008 at 2:12 pm #2071I’d hate to have to judge between the best of them – they all have different strengths in different ways. It would be easier to judge which are the ‘worst’, even where ‘worst’ is a relative term – I probably couldn’t have done as well as any of the entrants!
May 1, 2008 at 2:51 pm #2074Those are genius.
I am in absolute awe of everyone involved.

May 1, 2008 at 6:43 pm #2076The difficult thing is to judge from pictures. It is a little easier with mini in hand.
May 1, 2008 at 8:53 pm #2077With this I do agree , Mistress Wendy.
I would not like to judge …. or, to be honest … I cannot … and fotunately I don’t have to.May 2, 2008 at 5:43 am #2082Who is/are the judge(s) going to be – do we know? I can’t remember if we’ve been told (memory like a lumber-room etc). but I’d hope The Man himself will be one of them.
May 2, 2008 at 10:28 am #2083Huoommmm …. yes, one of the two, Master Barliman …. huom … the other one will be Master Lars Edman …. huoommm … if I remember well …. hom
