April 28, 2010 at 10:38 pm #9715Wow! A whole year and nobody may have this figure? Anyone? Please help.
April 29, 2010 at 9:29 am #9721That “Archer from Mirkwood . . .”
Unfortunately not, Jason.
Seems that this figure is more rare as expected. Mine has got a broken foot and I was looking for it quiet a while without any result.April 29, 2010 at 9:37 pm #9749That is ok Christophe. Help me keep a lookout for one, ok?
April 30, 2010 at 1:52 pm #9753For sure, Jason ! 😎
April 30, 2010 at 2:07 pm #9755Ya know, I can’t help but think that the latest Haldir (MS model) would make a good equivalent until you come across an original.
April 30, 2010 at 2:59 pm #9758Well, that’s a guy I’m missing too.
Sorry Jason can’t help eigther.April 30, 2010 at 5:04 pm #9759No, Master Gavin, those two figures are different in each and every respect. The figure of the ‘Silvan bowman’ (M70) has got nothing in common with the MS-Haldir. Nothing at all.
Seems to be a rare figure though.April 30, 2010 at 7:12 pm #9766Well,
I have to say I found one on ebay belgium for you, but you shall take it quickly !http://cgi.befr.ebay.be/Mithril-M70-Rare-/280491321816?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_23&hash=item414e95e9d8.
Hope it helps you.:cool:April 30, 2010 at 7:42 pm #9770Jason, you have a PM
May 1, 2010 at 8:52 am #9773Just to prove what I said before, Master Gavin … you cannot even compare the two

can you?
May 1, 2010 at 9:00 am #9778Certainly NOT !
One has got action, the other one looks quite stiff to me…May 1, 2010 at 12:16 pm #9790That’s also why I provided those two pics to compare the figures … sorry, they were done in a hurry (the pics 😆 I mean). – What surprised me was the fact that not only the pose, but also the differences in details of sculpting, is surprising … at least for me.
What I just wanted to point out is, that you cannot (and should not) compare those two Elves.
To me the figures of the Silvan Elves of the old “Mount Gundabad”- series always are sth ‘special’ (mind the M65) as it was the first Mithril-series I was able to buy completely when it was released. …. long time ago that was …May 1, 2010 at 12:42 pm #9793Is it me or… thought less accurate, the details and design of the M70 were better than the last Haldir one… especially for the Bow and chest part…
Lately all C.Tubb bows look dramatically Crude… I can understand men bows may be crude… but “bows of the galadhrim”?? crude?? they are supposed to be splendid….
May 1, 2010 at 2:43 pm #9801some of the details seem to dissapear during time…….
May 1, 2010 at 4:13 pm #9802I think that’s what time does, Master Caster … always. But then , somehow, out of the blue, so to say, sth new might appear … isn’ it like that? … that’s life … and that’s what I like the most
May 1, 2010 at 10:51 pm #9813I do not know what has happened with CT inspiration in design with those elves. Older ones are much more detailed and much better. Those Haldir looks like a common hippy archer… I was imagine that CT will do something like elf leaning on a tree that looks beneath the hood and listened to the forest. With a bow on his back ….
May 1, 2010 at 11:17 pm #9815May I show you my example . . . just because I adore this figure, nothing else! The comparison of Master Theobald speaks out loud what many people think.
As I mentioned it here somewhere else: those elves of the elvenking´s halls-range are magic![imgz url=http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/32_archer2.jpg]http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/thumbs/32_archer2.jpg[/imgz]
May 1, 2010 at 11:33 pm #9816I am certainly not a fan of the new Haldir, and my suggestion was not meant to be taken seriously.
The new Haldir would go well with the Prince August moulded Elves, and I may just buy him as a captain of said moulded Elves at some point when I feel like splurging 20 euro. I had very high hopes for the Haldir figure.
Beyond that, has anyone noted the newer Mithril figures looking a little…unfinished? As if they all needed a day or two more of touch up and smoothing?
