I’ve made an experiment with one of the old rohirrim horse, I’ve cut the only standing leg and pinned it to be sure it will support the weight:

Tomorrow I’ll add some putty to cover the joint. And then I’ll paint it… some day. As you can see, I’ve mounted it on a base taller than normal so it can look good with its taller brothers.
But that’s not all, I’ve drilled a hole in the bridle (under de horse’ snout) until sepparing them:
[imgz url=http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/551_caballo2.jpg]http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/thumbs/551_caballo2.jpg[/imgz]
It was my first time with a Dremel drilling machine (I took the photos just after drilling, as you can see for all the lead dust on the table ) and I’m quite happy with the results.
Now, some real conversions. I’ve got one spare M384 (Haradam and Ranger fighting) and I decided to separate them. This is the result so far:
[imgz url=http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/551_parejat.jpg]http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/thumbs/551_parejat.jpg[/imgz]
[imgz url=http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/551_pareja2.jpg]http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/thumbs/551_pareja2.jpg[/imgz]
I need to sculpt the left hand and the shield straps to the haradan and the right hand to the ranger (I’ll use a Reaper sword).
Sorry for the poor photos, I’ll try to improve them next time. Comments are welcome, of course.

November 28, 2009 at 2:01 am #8047They look good so far, Arthadan! Can’t wait to see the finished result.
November 28, 2009 at 2:59 pm #8060I think I have to finish this bottle of single Islay Malt Whiskey first, to see the pics in a clear way . . .
November 28, 2009 at 3:37 pm #8065Laphroag? Lagavulin? Bunnahabhain? Bowmore? Caol Ila? Ardbeg? … what is it that keeps you from focusing matters, Master Rita.de? … besides, these Malts are not meant to ‘be finished’, as you said. You should never haste a Malt being drunk, mind that, please.
November 28, 2009 at 4:19 pm #8067I’m afraid is not the lack of Malt what makes the images blury, Master Rita.de. I’ll have a new camera for Christmas if this guy do not forget:

Didn’t he use to have a beard? Hummm…
November 28, 2009 at 5:02 pm #8068(as a side note master Arthadan) you should learn how to use the upload image functionnality of this forum in order to generate thumbnails when posting , like others do that would be easier for reading and see your pics inside your posts
November 28, 2009 at 5:11 pm #8069Thanks to point me that one, Master Gildor.
November 28, 2009 at 10:52 pm #8073Really cool conversions! Very creative separating those figures!
November 28, 2009 at 11:58 pm #8076Oh Master Theobald, you know such liquids . . . could have known this . . .
Well I prefer Ardbeg and Laphroaig. There is a Laphroaig rests some time in a Sherry-barrel, excelent.
Be sure, I never haste drinking those liquid treasures, Master Tree . . .November 29, 2009 at 12:16 am #8078I guess I know, Master Rita.de … rhuoommm just feel fine, that’s all there is …. huoommm …
November 29, 2009 at 5:09 pm #8102Quick update (shield strips sculpted):
[imgz url=http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/551_haradan.jpg]http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/thumbs/551_haradan.jpg[/imgz]
They need some gentle sanding when the putty cures. Next time I’ll sculpt the fingers.
Ranger has a rough hand shape for now, so it’s not too interesting to see at the moment.
November 29, 2009 at 11:03 pm #8110Good work, Master Arthadan. Especially I like that detail concerning shield-thongs very much indeed !
At the moment I try similar things . . . but didnĀ“t reach an sophisticated result . . . :rolleyes:November 30, 2009 at 9:46 am #8111Thanks, Master Rita.de and Master OriginalAragorn.
I can offer some tips for sculpting shield straps:
– Don’t use greenstuff (it’s too rubbery for this), better try Miliput (I use the grey one).
– Let the putty dry a little, so it has more consistency and is easier to cut the strips.
– Press the tip of a propelling pencil for making ribbets.Good luck with your shields!
November 30, 2009 at 10:28 am #8112Meanwhiling I use Milliput aswell. Thank you for the advice, Master Arthadan. This Greenstuff is really . . .awful . . . to be moderate . . .
December 1, 2009 at 7:48 am #8167It is really nice to see figures made nad converted like this one are. I think that the paint will get them a new shine. Excellent work Master Arthadan….
January 31, 2010 at 2:10 pm #8725I took my time, but here is the Ranger. I took pics of the Haradrim also, but they’re too blury (I’m still learning how to use my new cam). I have to to the cross-guard longer, but other than that is finished.

January 31, 2010 at 7:16 pm #8726very interesting attacking pose…. !!! really nice
January 31, 2010 at 11:04 pm #8730Looks very good, Master Arthadan. I follow Master Thingol: interesting attacking pose.
And for me who is absolutely unable to mould anything: very good sculpting job for the sword.
I like the “typology” of that sword.February 1, 2010 at 8:41 am #8733Good Job Arthadan, it’s nice to see other’s work!
