Not sure if this is particularly relevant or even necessary to post, but today I (finally) received a second Gandalf and the Witch-King vignette.
Whereas the original came in a red box with a couple of layers of foam, this new one came in a blue box with the quilted blue inner (as well as the strips of foam).
As I say I am certain this will be of no interest to most, but for those who like to keep a record of how MM’s are or were originally sold/packaged etc. there you have it

April 28, 2012 at 4:09 pm #23947Thank you very much for posting this, Master Ddaines. – Though I will not comment on it. Just another proof of … you know what. …………..
April 28, 2012 at 7:29 pm #23948Thanks very much indeed David for this Information.
MS299 was the 2nd MS I bought back in 2010 as I had been looking at it for years before joining GF….And I was told at that time MS299 needed to be recasted. I received my MS299 like you in a nice Blue Box.
Then later 1 with red box was sold on Ebay last year I thinK. I thought this red packaging was the wrong one due to…you know what master Ent tells about. Thanks to you, I know now that Red box is the proper one and Blue box packaging the wrong one due to…you know what master Ent tells about. 😆
Thanks to you also, Wiki gallery is updated this way 😎
sound just like crazy guys are talking about color of a vintage packaging doesn’t it ? :rolleyes:April 29, 2012 at 4:05 pm #23971ddaines wrote:Not sure if this is particularly relevant or even necessary to post, but today I (finally) received a second Gandalf and the Witch-King vignette.Whereas the original came in a red box with a couple of layers of foam, this new one came in a blue box with the quilted blue inner (as well as the strips of foam).

I received my figure in plastic blister… I’m sure that this is just one proof that “mithril” is inconsistent in those marketing and sales standards…. Obviously there are no rules…and this needs no more comments… for me !
April 29, 2012 at 6:16 pm #23977… and none comments about such things from me either, Master Thingol

Would you like the Blue box Nino? Joan was insistent that she would have it boxed up (it had to be recast for my order apparently) even though I said I was happy to have no box.
Let me know

March 1, 2015 at 12:59 pm #32303Oh thanks, to this post I have just discovered that my beautiful first MS red boxes are missing the “cold silver stamping” on them, just like the [mith]MA1[/mith] picture shows. :_(
