About picture… you know what…
And about figures… you also know what…
I should say this only once… or more times…
July 30, 2011 at 11:53 pm #19112Yes, he’s not only a perfect painter, our dear Turambar, he also knows a lot about converting figures … and presenting them perfectly – though he still did not reveil all that is on his workbench ….
July 31, 2011 at 9:15 am #19117and quite a wine “amateur”… if we consider all the corks used as bases for his figurines hehehe
I admit I really would enjoy a front point of view of the figurine above, though this pose is excellent also I’m curious to see the front and other side of this fig…
and please Christoph, don’t despair, the easterlings will see the light of day one day I assure you
July 31, 2011 at 10:31 am #19118a wine “amateur” ? … you mean lover of wines, Master Gildor? The word “Amateur” has a different connotation in German. But no, the corks are from champagne-bottles, as far as I know.
I wish you are right about the Easterlings, Gildor.July 31, 2011 at 12:04 pm #19122The Wisest Of Ents said the truth . . . encore !
Well, Gildor, thank you that you like the conversion. I told here somewhere, that there exists a 360° overwiew of every figure I have painted
( Exept those I forgot to take photographs of . . . therefor you need to visit a COLLECTOR )Here is the M 194 C – Easterling foot archer

haha, right on!
@ theobald, it depends on who uses the expression—leica buffs use it in the same sense the french would use it. aficionado is another nice word for that.
August 7, 2011 at 7:36 am #19264Those are incredible pictures.
Regarding the Easterlings – not to contradict Master Tolwen – I would posit that while the great Easterling invasions that threatened Gondor during the Third Age are a Pecheneg like “wagon or chariot” culture, probably based just beyond the Sea of Rhun, there’s plenty of room for a steppe horse nomad culture. It sort of fits thematically. If we take the Hervarar saga as a key inspiration (Eomer and Eowyn, for example) then a Hun-like confederation of familiar enemies located in the lands east of Rhovanion. We could identify them as the Sagath in MERP terms.
And those guys make perfect Sagath!
August 17, 2011 at 7:43 pm #19605You can make your own Easterlings and call them Sagath, or whatever you want Gavin.
Absolutely no problem.I call my conversions Easterlings, simply because I want to have Easterlings. So I have to take that material mithril offers me.
so here is my third EASTERLING. In this case: Easterling archer, mounted.

People will recognize the same horse as taken for the Easterling captain.

August 17, 2011 at 8:04 pm #19610So…that’s a Glorfindel type horse, a Haradrim chieftain and a Variag head?
