It is an empty oil-colour tube, George.
Thank you that you like those conversions.
December 18, 2011 at 6:40 pm #22188So- at last- I can show some pics of WIP ( that means Work In Progress )
Sinse my visit at the DUZI-exhibition in October I sa a picture of a mounted Touareq on a Camel, from Romeo-models.
Since that time it was quiet clear for me, that the second conversion of a mounted Haradrim should look like a Touareq.[imgz url=http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/32_harad2.jpg]http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/thumbs/32_harad2.jpg[/imgz]
December 18, 2011 at 6:44 pm #22189What you do not see is the view from the left. It shows the shield design.
Unfortunately I am not able to call my inspiration for this magnificent piece of art.It was Master sukhe_bator who created that look of the Black Snake. I found some pics years ago somewhere in another forum which I can´t remember.
I hope he won´t kill me. I simply adore those snake-paintings he showed . . . Look here:[imgz url=http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/32_harad3.jpg]http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/thumbs/32_harad3.jpg[/imgz]
December 18, 2011 at 9:21 pm #22194…. I could here recognize the clues that will lead us to the next masterpiece!….. and you know what… dear friend…
December 19, 2011 at 9:11 pm #22212Ah, only Master Thingol seems to be interested in this project?!
That´s a pity, because it is really lovely . . .
As for the “Touareq” aspect I decided to give the already painted miniatures another colour scheme.
Sometimes it is necessary to paint minis three-times . . .[imgz url=http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/32_dscn1224.jpg]http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/thumbs/32_dscn1224.jpg[/imgz]
December 20, 2011 at 9:39 am #22213Well, you know Master Turambar, that I’m also very much interested in your new diorama and that I really like and value your excellent skills in painting and building very much. I wonder what your final decisions about this phantastic diorama will be.
December 20, 2011 at 10:36 am #22214I think this belong here aswell!
Materpiece to Masterpiece…
The black serpent is a very nice concept for sure!

Great conversions, great shield design and very impatient to see all together in desert !December 29, 2011 at 4:32 pm #22330I decided not only to re-paint but to re-convert some minis. In this case the Haradan Captain of the black serpent.
In the ent I was not satisfied that he holds a banner. Also there is another figure holding this banner, so I gave him a scimitar.
Finally he looks like this and there is already his place inside the whole scene . . .[imgz url=http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/32_harad9935.jpg]http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/thumbs/32_harad9935.jpg[/imgz]
December 29, 2011 at 4:39 pm #22334in the ent ? 😆
December 29, 2011 at 4:40 pm #22335it looks fantastic also this way.
On my side, I could only manage to assemble my mumak, and add a thin 1st colored layer…too much rests after big meals!:lol:December 29, 2011 at 7:02 pm #22337… I looking forward to see all “the characters” in the final diorama…..
December 30, 2011 at 12:44 am #22343. . I can tell, that I spend my free week “between-the-years” wise! 😎
December 31, 2011 at 2:53 pm #22361For example making the background . . . These are the different steps I want to show you . . .
If you experience to remember some “Petra” scene here, no worry, you are right! 😆

. . . now I have to order these Phaeton-miniatures . . .
December 31, 2011 at 3:40 pm #22364Master Turambar, thank you very much for providing those nice pics here. They give us a very nice insight in your way of creating a diorama.
So. Lukas water colours, very nice they are. I once used Horadam by Schmincke, which are quite similar, I think. But that again shows that you’re a very skilled perfectionist. Keep on, please.December 31, 2011 at 4:28 pm #22365Looks really well this diorama.
I love the old arabean buildings behind miniatures, with this ciclopean column and the ruined arc.
I hope to see it finished as soon as possible
Congrats.December 31, 2011 at 7:26 pm #22367…. it is always interesting to see creation of the middle earth world from Master Archer’s head….. magnificent watching experience…. !!!!!
January 2, 2012 at 11:24 am #22405This is my last free day before returning at work.
I take this chance to take some test-photos of the whole scene- which is finished since one hour !I show you a picture of the last conversion I did for this diorama. Already got its place inside the scenery . . .
I tried to gave him some kind of a “nubian-look”. Impresive his “six-pac” . . . 😆The conversion contains the bottom of [mith]m75[/mith] – (m75a in this case! ) and the top of [mith]m382[/mith].
The original arm for the banner and a modified arm from [mith]m513[/mith] for the shield :[imgz url=http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/32_harad1253.jpg]http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/thumbs/32_harad1253.jpg[/imgz]
