Hello, recently I’ve got the 2 boxed set of Mithril Warbands (MW336 – orcs of mordor and MW337 – The Army of Gondor)
I’m interested on get the 2 mini variants that didn´t come in my sets: A5d and B5c.
I can trade them for 2 any of the other variants of both sets, with the the exception of the unique miniatures who come in that sets (comandants, trumpeters, standard bearers and so on…)
Unpainted or primed will be fine, but no problem if they are painted. My minis are all unpainted.
Please answer me in this thread or by PM if interested.
By the way, I live in Spain
Thanks in advance!

November 24, 2010 at 9:21 am #13430I think I can help you but I do not know which one is B5c. Can you help me to find it in my MW337 ?
November 24, 2010 at 11:01 am #13436Is it possible to see a picture of those miniatures. I actually do have two orc warbands as well. Maybe I can help too. 😎
November 24, 2010 at 12:55 pm #13449ok, this afternoon I’ll try to find the 2 minis (maybe with a little look at faerylands gallery) and give you a description and /or the photos. Thanks a lot to both!
November 24, 2010 at 4:10 pm #13456The rare orc from the warband is the one with the spear raised over his head. I do not know about the other.
November 24, 2010 at 7:05 pm #13462Right, Master Shadyt. That’s the rare one.
There are 4 (sic!) versions of that running orc with a spear. But there’s a 5th version, the only one holding the spear above his head. This one strangely also has the subreference “A5D” though at the bottom left on the base there’s a small number “1” added. So there are two versions of the A5D as far as I know.
Master Imisel, there’s no figure in that series starting with a capital “B”.
As it took me quite a long time to complete all figures of that release (to be honest it took me more than two sets) I think I could be of some help to find out about thisNovember 24, 2010 at 7:45 pm #13464well A stands for the Orcs, ([mith]mw336[/mith]) B for Gondor ([mith]mw337[/mith]), C for the Half-Orcs ([mith]mw346[/mith]), and D for Dwarves ([mith]mw347[/mith])
Having the full sets of all the 4 of them is quite an accomplishment actually … well no one can , since the last Dwarf set has not been released yet (but should soon)
November 24, 2010 at 8:36 pm #13465Sorry, I just didn’t read Imisel’s query thouroughly enough. He was referring to two warbands.
I see now, Master Gildor. I thought he was just asking about the Mw336. My fault, indeed. So the B5C of the Gondorians. – Okidoke. That’s one of the two versions of the Gondorian spearmen. Though the B5D (spear raised to throw) was always put more often into the sets than the B5C ones (spear held at the hip), the B5C ones always were part of a set. With the Mw337 Gondor- set there was nothing unusual, as far as concerns the original sets.
So let me explain, please.
The only ‘problem’ came up many years ago when it became clear that the old Mw336-sets (Orcs) were packed more or less randomly concerning the different figures, like: 4 spearmen, 4 archers, etc.
that’s when one of the A5D was witnessed as being different (because of the raised spear) from the other 4 versions of A5. So here Master Shadyt is absolutely right.
That’s all I know at the moment …November 24, 2010 at 8:53 pm #13466A ha, so if I understood everything right, this one is the rare orc:
[imgz url=http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/32_orc04.png]http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/thumbs/32_orc04.png[/imgz]
This one is a picture from the timemachine homepage. The orc was aviable for a long time. In case you have known his rarity . . .
I didn´t .November 24, 2010 at 9:45 pm #13469sorry for the delay, and thank everybody for your help and feedback. I have a long work day today and I’ve just arrived home … so tired at this moment to look for the minis, I’ll try tomorrow afternoon to make photos of the a5 and b5 versions THAT I HAVE, so it will be easier to know wich one I don’t have.
Good night and until tomorrow, going straight to bed (tomorrow I get up at 6:30 am)

November 24, 2010 at 10:40 pm #13470Huoomm … you’ve understood well, Master Turambar. It’s exactly that one.
As for records, Timemachine, had the licence to produce those two warbands and did so for a very long period in the past to keep up the production of those two armies and sell single figures for less than raesonable prices.
If I do remember well it was about 1 or 2 years ago that the production of the two armies by Timemachine definitely ended. – that’s nearly all I know, or can tell.November 24, 2010 at 10:44 pm #13471Huoommm … have your sleep, Master Imisel, and don’t haste getting up …
November 24, 2010 at 10:59 pm #13472Yes Master Theobald, I know about the facts. And I was lucky to be one of the last you has got the possibility to order them by Jim Corless.
As I mentioned, I was not aware of the rarity of that orc. So – I missed him. Forever. :rolleyes:November 25, 2010 at 4:57 pm #13486Hello again everybody:
Here are the photos of the 3 B5 variants of [mith]mw337[/mith] I have:

The B5c, the one I don’t have… I’ve no description of it. Only know that It’s the same kind of these (throwing jabaline pose)
November 25, 2010 at 5:14 pm #13487and here the 3 variants of A5 I have of [mith]mw336[/mith]
[imgz url=http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/586_a5a.jpg]http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/thumbs/586_a5a.jpg[/imgz]
[imgz url=http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/586_a5b.jpg]http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/thumbs/586_a5b.jpg[/imgz]
[imgz url=http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/586_a5c.jpg]http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/thumbs/586_a5c.jpg[/imgz]
The other variant, A5d, as described in Mithril faerylands database is: Running, spear, bare-head
Any help to get these two will be aprecciated.
Thanks!
November 25, 2010 at 5:18 pm #13488I checked My Gondor Warband, the one missing is this one:
[imgz url=http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/553_mw337_5d.jpg]http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/thumbs/553_mw337_5d.jpg[/imgz]Unfortunately, There is only one and I intend to keep one of each. So I cannot help you this time. Too bad.
November 25, 2010 at 10:38 pm #13501I had contacted Time Machine a long time ago about getting one of these rare orcs from him, he of course had the same problem casting them that Mithril did, they broke coming out of the mold, so he had made very few of these also.

Seems that will be too hard to get this minis, I though it would be easier. It look for them in calm mode, I’ve no hurry.
