Having had a look today on ebay I just once more witnessed that about 90% of the items are offered by a company called “Noble Knight Games” from the USA.
I know that that company is being present on ebay for years and I still wonder why they’re selling such a lot of Mithril figures, including the MS releases. I would be interested in any background information.
What I clearly dislike (and always did) are the pictures they provide with the figures as the pics obviously do not present the figures in the state in which they’re offered. Very often the pictures are copies from original Mithril-pics (e.g. providing painting suggestions). – Is this serious ?October 1, 2016 at 9:21 pm #35097Having had a look today on ebay I just once more witnessed that about 90% of the items are offered by a company called “Noble Knight Games” from the USA.

They are a shop “specialized” in out of stock figures/material: I guess they buy big quantities of minis, so they can still have some to sell as they go out of stock.
I have bought 3 times from them.
The service (communication, shipping) was very good and even the miniatures have come as described; the problem are prices of still in stock figures, often higher than anywhere else. If you buy directly from their site, you can even choose from different way of shipping to Europe; I’ve alwys used the slowest and the cheapest one, but the packages arrived in a good time.Unfortunately on ebay several sellers use pictures “stolen” from mithril.ie, since they show an images of well painted miniatures, that can be more attractive. You’re right: this is not very professional.
I can say that all the figures I bought from Noble Knight Game had a “stolen” image (with painted figure), but was absolutely new & still in blister, so probably that’s why they use this kind of images; if you have a look at their site, you can see that they show used minis as they are, and I guess they do this on ebay too.October 2, 2016 at 7:41 am #35099Wasn’t Noble Knight Games the distributor which Prince August made a contract with some years ago to distribute mithril in the US, they talked about it to us , saying it would be one solution to viabilize Mithril and allow them to stay in business and do not practive even more expansive prices…
I’m not sure if it’s them but definitly Mithril has a contract with a US company that distributes for them, in their own name on the US soil… that’s a deal they made…
We’d have to parse through mail or Michael posts history to have confirmation but I thought this was public…I DO think they have authorization to use promotional material directly from Mithril (and thus their pics…) to sell the products…
I myself got the authorization to use official pictures on my database to describe the figurines (although of course, my site is a no-commercial site, that’s a bit different)
October 2, 2016 at 4:14 pm #35100All I know is that I find it less expensive to buy directly from Prince August than buy through Noble Knight. Their Mithril prices are much higher and PA only charges me around $5-$6 shipping. Now I have purchased some old MERP modules from them and they are pretty accurate with their grading. When they say Fine+ or Near Mint it is.
October 2, 2016 at 8:51 pm #35101I guess that maybe Theobald message wasn’t referred to the use of copyrighted images, but to the unperfect correspondence between images and items on ebay.
Am I wrong, good old ent?October 3, 2016 at 8:41 am #35102Well someone got an eBay bargain last night – M73 for 8.50 Euros!
October 3, 2016 at 11:24 am #35103Right you are, Master Maxtarna, because that’s what I wanted to say.
So 8.50 € for M73 really is a bargain … wowOctober 4, 2016 at 5:40 pm #35108I saw it: I bidded for M68, then I had to decide if bidding even for M73… I have it already, so there was no point for me in bidding, except base speculation, so at the end I didn’t. I’m glad that someone could enjoy that wonderful (and bargained!) figure!
October 4, 2016 at 6:17 pm #35109That’s very considerate indeed! I certainly expected it to sell for a much higher price.
October 5, 2016 at 11:57 am #35110If anyone of my friends here from across the pond see some good Mithril sales please let me know. My ebay feed doesn’t always show European auctions as I didn’t even see the M73 sale at all.
October 5, 2016 at 1:40 pm #35111That’s a shame – I shall keep my eyes peeled, but the problem is knowing what you’re specifically looking for.
October 5, 2016 at 2:48 pm #35112maybe make a list with what minis you are looking for.
October 5, 2016 at 4:45 pm #35113Well considering I’m missing quite a few I’ll just list the ones under 200 that I’m missing. However, any of the rarer/unfindable type (Christmas, MS, MX, Etc.) miniatures that may pop up would be appreciated as well.
M1,4,6,7,10,15,18,20,21,24,28,30,33,34,38,41-45,48,51, 59, 64-68,70,72,79-83,89,91,97,98,108,110,111,114,136,137,139,140,143,150-152,154,155,157,158,160,161,163,164,167,175-177,180
Thank you as always.
October 5, 2016 at 5:04 pm #35114Well I’m not familiar enough with the numbers of Mithrils so I’d have to look them all up, but ones I instantly recognise (because I saw them listed today) which are currently listed on eBay are M38, M114, M151 and M152. There are probably lots of others…
Won’t your system list overseas eBay items even when you tick eBay’s “Worldwide listings” box?
October 5, 2016 at 5:07 pm #35115It does sometimes but ebay is very inconsistent about displaying search results from overseas.
October 7, 2016 at 4:49 pm #35118Sometimes it can depend on the auction preferences: if the seller haven’t marked the items as available for your area, you’re not able to see those as results of your research.
That’s why, sometimes, I look directly through eBay.com, though I live in Italy, to find what’s available in the USOctober 8, 2016 at 5:00 pm #35123October 8, 2016 at 5:01 pm #35124October 8, 2016 at 5:02 pm #35125 -
