Thanks gentlemen for the kind words. Very entcouraging.
Master Maenas, it is brushed on. With a “two-haired-brush”- as I call that “thing”.(You need also some strong drinks – three in the minimum!- BEFORE the start.)
As you know I paint with oil colours. I try different kind of “liquids” to make the oilcolour that thin that I need for those thinny lines.
Everything didn´t satisfiy me. So I made the decision some time in the past to use acryllic paint for those “freehand” work,
as I can fill it up with water as it is liquid-like as water. You have got more to say coloured water. The oil colour has got some kind of a greasy surface. So the almost waterlike acryllic paint has got problems to stick (covering power).
If you have a closer look you can see some disruptions in the lines.
But- as it is a 32 mm figure which is standing somewhere it is absolutely alright, in my oppinion . . .January 28, 2016 at 7:02 pm #34002Turambar wrote:…/If you have a closer look you can see some disruptions in the lines./… /But- as it is a 32 mm figure which is standing somewhere it is absolutely alright, in my oppinion…/Those disruptions teased my eye into thinking it was not brushed on!!
And they look more than right in my opinion!!January 28, 2016 at 8:12 pm #34003Both of these free-hand masterpieces are fantastic works of art.
I’m almost there with Isildur

January 29, 2016 at 7:57 pm #34010I’m keen on seeing the final pictures of all the figures here. So far there were just some pics provided showing work-in-progress. As for all those details of the coats I could see here: fantastic painting-skill quality. – Which supports one of my arguments for not taking part in the Painter’s league here
January 31, 2016 at 12:08 am #34018Well Isildur is finally finished, photos tomorrow hopefully
January 31, 2016 at 10:12 am #34019Well, a very good event from Mrs Milo’s family changed my schedule: a little girl is born this morning 😎
So we are about to leave home to visit her, time is much more to celebrations than painting.I will do my best to finsih Zalg & take pics by tuesday.
January 31, 2016 at 11:19 am #34020It’s always acceptable, or as you might put it, Master Milo, very wise to give in to priorities. I’m sure that Mrs Milo’s family will serve you a nice third breakfast, which Zalg is not able to do. Good choice you made, dear Hobbit.
February 1, 2016 at 8:47 am #34021Family first Milo
we of course could extend the deadline to this very next weekend if you need to.
Anyway it is not as important as your new family member and it will never be. Congratulations Milo and wishing your missus a fast recovery!!February 1, 2016 at 12:08 pm #34022It is a niece who was born yesterday. Everything is fine, Parents are happy and Uncle Milo delighted !
Now deadline extension is better on my side. I will be back to paint as much as I can.
February 1, 2016 at 5:59 pm #34023Uncle Milo?????!!!!!
That sounds very good!!!!
Hurry up, Master Milo . . .February 1, 2016 at 6:05 pm #34024Oh- I forgot . . .
Well- my miniature is finished and as I won´t have time to place the pics tomorrow, I will do it now.
so, this is my entry:. . . mmmmhhh: ” unable to upload image”. What does that mean? Maybe I should have another try after a while . . .

February 1, 2016 at 8:23 pm #34026Well, Master Turambar, I think what you, er, “produced” there is simply magnificient, one might also call it marvellous or even spectecular. But I wouldn’t have expected a lesser quality. So all in all, a very fine work you do present here with also providing a great quality in picture-taking or photography.
February 1, 2016 at 9:03 pm #34027Yet again, so much shown in so little space, I love it!
February 1, 2016 at 11:45 pm #34028Congratulations “uncle Milo”!!!

February 2, 2016 at 7:21 am #34029It is great scene ! As per 1st painter’s league, I will wait until everyone has submitted to put my comments.

All the best to the little baby Master Uncle Hobbit…
February 2, 2016 at 7:50 am #34031Master Archer… what can I say after I’ve seen all your small dioramas…. simply magnificent !!!!!!!!
February 2, 2016 at 1:33 pm #34032Hello all! I have extended the deadline one week due to a hobbit party business xD hahahaha
No, seriously now, I extended it because everyone seemed to need it. I have already finished, but didn’t had time to post the pics, but I will do (hope) this afternoon .Master Archer I must say that your work is delicate as an elven bow’s string.
I reserve further comments till the rest of participants finish their works. ^^
I will edit this post, so I won’t make a double post…. so here is my finished work:
[imgz url=http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/27_m247_04.jpg]http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/thumbs/27_m247_04.jpg[/imgz]I must improve my lighting, because the shines on the metal, the face and hair are completely burned by the light. Sorry about it ^^’
