I’d like to participate as well! As Beorning Scholar, as unlikely this may seem. Cheers.

pacoAugust 31, 2011 at 1:08 pm #19949Just to make all of you aware, that the figure of your choise MUST be converted so it is ovious it’s not a original Mithril!
August 31, 2011 at 1:46 pm #19952yes yes Holger, a conversion but all conversion use a base or several
not all of use have conversion-craft skills though and may require some help from expert but in the end, having a FULL converted diorama would be a “bonus” as it would also make a show and display of our conversion capacities, among MMP….
all converted (1skill) , inside a diorama (1skill), altogether embedded in a natural environnement or picture-shot with talent play on colors and lights (optionnal but 2 more skills), talented painting (1 skill) … and all of the above making the final skill of Communication/collaboration/friendship and quality in project management…that’s quite a lot
August 31, 2011 at 3:48 pm #19955What??? 😆
Master Gildor, you should become a writer…. LOLAugust 31, 2011 at 5:53 pm #19956ah? well why so?
I cheked some emails from Chris on the matters of conversions and recasts… and all I can say is that everytime he clearly states that he is against recast of originals in order to do conversions, BUT ALSO against building conversions from originals directly and then recast the result… that’s a legal thing as he still owns the rights on any material converted from his work so he cannot endorse nor promote any kind of recast…
still there may be ways to make it so that recasts…. are so different than the original… well it’s not easy…
August 31, 2011 at 6:14 pm #19957May I make a suggestion:
If you are doing recasts for the purposes of a diorama, how about putting a disclaimed on the bottom of the base:
Copyright Chris Tubb 2011
Conversions by: whomever. So its clear that while conversions were used, the rights to the sculpts still belong to The Man.
August 31, 2011 at 6:45 pm #19959true enough, the key is to make a “piece” that would have no “collector” value at all for all its components taken apart, and that the piece altogether would be unique enough to be outside any circuit of piracy or resales as “mithril”
I know that unofficially, Chris understands the aspect of recastinng for recast, he simply cannot in any way, support it. I may use some diplomacy to discuss this aspect with him soon without giving him details about what this should look like but about the nature of this project only… so that I know what he thinks about it?
August 31, 2011 at 7:52 pm #19962I would use figure [mith]M393[/mith] ( Sam only ) and without your diplomacy I will be forced to buy 20 copies of this figures… and after all I will have 20 extra ponies 😆
So Gildor I think you should start with political lobbying… 😎
September 1, 2011 at 5:34 am #19971…to overcome my lack of motiation and frustration i am thinking about participating…
September 1, 2011 at 8:15 am #19974Great decision Master Estel because I had planned you in anyway….
September 1, 2011 at 8:16 am #19975As the Lord of the paints, you could paint the taproom. It needs a fresh coat!:lol::lol:
September 1, 2011 at 3:35 pm #19997so far we have 12 people I think who submitted to take part in this project… I think a fair number of figurines to be present would be 15…. as it already makes 225 castings in the end, that’s quite a job!!
I hope everybody agrees on this number I think that allows for one or two more participants to declare themselves, and that’s all…I think Theobald did not submit explicitly, neither did wendy…
so I’ll post the 15 final participants this week end.
