Gildor said that just one more set is to be released one day …
April 25, 2010 at 1:09 pm #9647Nice little bunch full of angry dwarves
April 25, 2010 at 2:02 pm #9648I don’t like the blunt shields, but that can be changed.
April 25, 2010 at 3:18 pm #9651These are great. For many years, before learning of their true existence, I’d reasoned that several regular M releases were part of this set (some flat looking dwarves; you know of whom I speak). This set is by far, much better and the lack of it’s release is made all the more unfortunate!
April 25, 2010 at 3:58 pm #9653Even those 4 pikemen of the ‘Saruman’s Army’ had what you call blunt shields, Master Hsf62.
It’s a hassle if you have to cope with a pike and a shield at the same time. This set of Dwarves is called “Light Troops” , so some light shields are appropriate for the spearmen – if there should be any.April 25, 2010 at 4:08 pm #9654Yes, Ken, this army is great, and I understand what you speak of.
I also wish this one could have been released along with the Saruman Army as regular M-figures or sets. But it didn’t happen, as we know. But it’s not me to have to judge about all this.April 26, 2010 at 10:50 am #9655Well Master Ent,
I think we had a discussion regarding these pikemen with shields already….
I don’t believe that a orc, nor a man can handle a pike with two hands having a shield hanging of his arm.:lol::lol:
Therefor I wouldn’t use the shields anyway.
With the dwarfs, I just like the shield design and would like to have seen it on the “blunt” shields aswell, which can be added easily and again taken of without even scratching the figure.April 26, 2010 at 12:18 pm #9658Wow, gorgeous, gorgeous figures.
I am really, really sad these weren’t released properly. Though the Warband have that sort of “prestige” due to rarity/not being released, they are still absolutely marvellous figures. They really should have just been released in M-blisters in the late 1990s, when nothing else was really happening.
April 26, 2010 at 12:43 pm #9659I wish these dwarves appear one day below my christmas tree.
April 27, 2010 at 1:26 am #9667Not to make anyone feel bad if they didn’t get to see these up close…but I am struck buy the detail here. Perhaps even more detailed than the MW Isengard set (though the Angrenost guard rider is quite detailed). Particularly the slingers. They have a lot of character detail on their faces, small details on their garb and even rocks in their slings. Every so often there is a Mithril figure that is truly a tiny masterpiece of sculpture. IMO these qualify. Tubb at his finest!
May 1, 2010 at 10:01 am #9783Sorry, I just checked this thread again and found out that I did not provide pictures of the Dwarven swordsmen so far … alas. I cannot haste everything, you know. This is just for Gildor if he is need of providing pics of them in the database. I hope the pics are fine enough – if not, let me know, please.
So, Dwarven swordsmen:

May 1, 2010 at 10:11 am #9784Alas … the other two now … I hope it works … as I had to try it thrice …

… got it at last… there’s always some trouble when my keyboard recognizes me …
I do hope this might please those who are interested in ….
May 1, 2010 at 10:27 am #9785okidoki … that’s all I can do at the moment … as time is limited …
yes, I know I should also have been providing more pics of the Saruman’s Army … I simply forgot … I cannot haste … there are other things to consider … and I don’t know if there’s any use in it … who wants to know? – except us few? … I might stroll over to the Pony this afternoon, just to have some rest ….May 1, 2010 at 12:39 pm #9791this will be very useful I assure you!!
Now I have maybe a little favor to ask… Now that the Half-Orc set is complete and when the Iron Hill Dwarves will be too, I could use a picture of the complete set altogether in a single pic, arranged so that we can see them all, on a neutral background as you like to do them master tree. Please if such pic has already been posted just direct me to where… I will use it
May 1, 2010 at 8:46 pm #9805Mine arrived today!
May 2, 2010 at 9:33 am #9822I will take a pic of those half-orc band soon, Gildor.
June 16, 2010 at 8:38 pm #10406all MW347 (yes I insist, iron-hill dwarves are MW347 and half-orcs are MW346 as per the ads. in the back of MW336-337)
well… all the dwarves and the full-so-far pictures of the set are now up to date in the gallery… as are the half-orcs…
June 16, 2010 at 10:14 pm #10407Great work, Gildor! Thank you for offering your precious time. Fantastic!
June 17, 2010 at 6:07 am #10411Now you should put picture of PM2 ( Elf girl dancing ) on uniques and rarities gallery and this would be it for this phase… or not…
