I can guarantee you THIS does not work master Milo when you are in front of hardcore collector/bidders….

remember the auction for the Aragorn Christmas 1988… which reached the price of over 1600€ would you have put such a price as hidden bid…
I know what I’m talking about, I’m responsible for the fact the figurine reached this price…. responsible AND I lost the auction to someone who outbided me via a robot in the last 2seconds in the last 35seconds, the price went up from 300€ up to 1600€, can you imagine that? I was outbided every 5seconds, faster than I could humanly react… I was crazy at that time, and I am HAPPY I lost the auction… that taught me a big lesson…
but I know some collectors out there, especially one, who is very rich and ready to put ten times my monthly income for a figurines that alas, I miss too…

well, I can tell that I have just put my higher bids in the two mx436 variants, and five minutes later was surpassed by other bidder. Well I don´t want to spent more money on this and get no sleep this night to lost the auction in the last 5 sec with hardcore collectors , how Gildor has said. Good night to everyone!

… hard and strong discussion… I was one of those hardcore collectors in period when I decided to fill in my collection as far as cost…. I have never used a robot:) to help me… but one of my technic was to put bid 100% bigger then the last price is on auction list… and score was almost 100%… several times I have experienced defeat in the last 5 seconds but once I got in the last second…. [mith]M239[/mith]… so I think that with or without robots this is pure luck….

the bottom line is that it depends on your highest bid, regardless of whether you use a robot or not.

It also depends on your funds, of course – not everyone (in fact very few people) can afford to pay colossal prices. But you’re right in one regard, Master Thingol – you should always bid as much as you’re prepared to.

So many people bid less than they could, and then moan when they’re outbid by someone who’s prepared to take the plunge. I win 95% of the things I bid on, simply because I’m prepared to bid what the item is worth to me, plus a bit, not just the bargain price that I’d like to get it for! If you want cheap stuff, go to a jumble sale – not an auction.

So [mith]MX436[/mith] was sold for £66.00 [ 10 bids ] & the variant for £73.00 [ 6 bids ]

Not so high, not low, I think this is a correct value.
Apart from Imisel who could not spend too much, did anyone here win a troll ?

I checked bids history, no robot on these ones as the variant highest bid was placed 1min57s before auction end and 19s for regular one.
It was the same guy also. He must be a happy mithril collector today !

Well… I’ll try the two Rohan Riders in other auctions, getting mx minis it’s becoming very expensive for me. For the same price, I can get the complete Dol Amroth regular series, that I still miss.

thanks to you milo, i didn’t take part in the auction
currently no need for doubles which are that expensive. i’ll give the german seller’s run of figures a try instead, i think one can get much more for the money there.
