well I don’t know how you can achieve such art actually… I’m amazed each time great job!

Unfortunately, we can’t appreciate the painting work Only on the first picture : great job as usualTotally agree with you, Sevlag… I liked particularly the 3rd photo…
May 3, 2012 at 9:23 am #24021Great idea, my friend, absolutely great idea.
And we see, that the re-released PA minis fit well into “mithril”-world.
Very moody . . .May 3, 2012 at 12:58 pm #24022The Beornings are absolutely great in that surrounding and so is the quality of the pics … I’m not sure about your second attempts with black&white pics … my opinion was pointed out by others already:
– of course, no chance to value the colours of the painted figures
– it’s absolutely difficult to take pics of such small figures, especially in such a very dark scene … the appropriate light provided for such photos is extremely difficult to achieve, I think. That’s why I don’t like the flames in the background – that light is a bit too strong.
Nevertheless, why not try to do something new (in terms of photography) – first steps are always the most difficult to take. I hope you do not misunderstand my comment on the second series of pics, but you also asked for criticism.
So, keep on, Master ThingolMay 3, 2012 at 5:31 pm #24023Thanks for all compliments dear friends for all compliments and criticisms. For sure that is difficult to take B&W pictures with optimal light on such a small objects, so I think that this would be my only experiment with mithril figures.
Few of you know my other B&W pictures, and I think that I will keep my interests on the real world…
News from the “Grandma’s garden” will come soon….
May 3, 2012 at 6:49 pm #24028The problem isn’t about the brightness of the flames – it’s to do with the fact that it’s impossible to create 28mm-scale fire, so “real” flames always tend to look too large. Super pictures again, though – and super painting – as always. And really imaginative framing of the scenes. Genius.
May 3, 2012 at 6:54 pm #24029Ah Excellent – I don’t know how I missed the snow-scapes, but they are wonderful. I like the B & W experiments as well .

What a crowd: That´s what I call: celtic warriors!!!!
Especially the stripes on the trousers are very much detailed.

September 30, 2012 at 10:35 pm #25082Outstanding , Grandma’s garden back-drops, and Master Christoph’s painted back grounds bring Middle Earth to life.
This looks fantastic Nino, a great use of the figures

For sure! Which background? Painted by me? What?
This is Master Thingol´s thread . . .
I suppose, the consume of Master Barli´s scrumpy is to blame . . .October 1, 2012 at 8:59 am #25084Wow !

October 1, 2012 at 3:55 pm #25087Respect, Master Thingol. Once again a very nice set of pictures showing a lot of well-painted miniatures in a wonderful surrounding. I also like those patterns of some of the Dunlendings very much, as Turambar already pointed out before. And, yes, the standard, of course.

I suppose, the consume of Master Barli´s scrumpy is to blame . . .Hic! what do you mean confushed on Barli’s Scrumpy 😆
What I meant it to mean was a comparrison of how the different backgrounds used by different painters – natural with Grandma’s garden, and hand painted with your own, can really enhance how MM’s look.
Shtill!, musht get back to my Scrumpy, hic!
