I don’t know if this is the right topic, but did you know that there is a figurine sculpted by Chris Tubb with his effigy?
March 21, 2020 at 4:15 pm #38589Fabrice JACOB I beliefe you are looking for a minature of CT himself?! That would be M389 Pedlar with dog! http://mithril.faerylands.eu/display.php?reference=M389
March 21, 2020 at 7:27 pm #38591I arrived well after the construction of the site, very late. It is difficult for me to read all the posts, and what a database!
Yes, Master hsf62 you are right. Thank you so much. Do you know if there is another one?March 22, 2020 at 9:20 am #38595Not that I know of.
March 22, 2020 at 9:53 am #38596Master Fabrice, there is also a figure which is supposed to be connected to Chris Tubb:
[mith]M192[/mith] : Hundin, the Bandit Chief
and even if the database is updated from time to time , most of the figures tagged “in production” are not available in the empty-webshop …March 23, 2020 at 8:26 am #38598There is a card player also: [mith]M114[/mith]A
March 23, 2020 at 7:46 pm #38600Same position, same gesture as the card player. Troubling, isn’t it?

October 23, 2020 at 4:24 pm #38996Very nice indeed. Makes a change to have the Bad Guy seated. How tall will the figure be, I wonder? I shall hopefully add a Seeing Stone on a plinth in front of him – I’m sure I’ve seen a suitable Palantir model somewhere, though I currently can’t remember where . . . .
October 24, 2020 at 5:50 am #39000Very beautiful piece indeed.
So here is one more that I would like to paint, with the MZ 684 presented on FB by D. Daines.
A lot of work but a great challenge to achieve for a promising sketches.
What about the quality of finish of this part ?October 24, 2020 at 3:18 pm #39002Milo wrote:I just saw Necromancer Preview in newsletter. What do you think of it ?[imgz url=http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/553_unnamed23.jpg]http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/thumbs/553_unnamed23.jpg[/imgz]
Personally I like it, I wonder if the figure will be larger than standard figures or same scale (not sure if it is mentioned). As to the quality, I guess we need an actual casting in the hand to assess this aspect.
October 24, 2020 at 3:43 pm #39003David, I agree with the last point you mentioned. We cannot rely on those very poor pics (screenshots) from the rendering process. A photography of a real figure, as it was common in the past, always was better than this. This is one of the aspects I am criticizing about the new “MZ-strategy”. I’m still disappointed about this development.
October 25, 2020 at 6:13 pm #39006I like the pose, and the miniature looks quite interesting to paint.
Theobald wrote:A photography of a real figure, as it was common in the past, always was better than this. The only advantage I think it has (for us as costumers), is that we are able to have an approximate of how the miniature will look before the printing/casting process starts.
For the company… it saves a lot of time and money, since they do not need to have a cast miniature to actually advertise a new product. AND they do not need to spend a cent nor space for a setup to take good quality pictures. So it cuts costs, time and space for them…
I can see the reason for them acting like this, but I do not support it, since a good shot of an actual miniature can never be replaced by a render in this style. On top of that if it were a shot of the actual figure, but painted professionally, well then that would be amazing.

October 26, 2020 at 8:30 am #39016Ah, it must be wonderful to have a memory! I’m sure I used to have one once upon a time, but I have no idea what I did with it….
Thanks, Master Warden.

I like this figure but quality of my final opinion will depend on the proportions of the figure. I hope he is not a small figure. I hope it will also be in a measure similar to a miniature [mith]MS568[/mith]
October 26, 2020 at 7:54 pm #39031I suspect that’s what we’re all hoping for.
