and that’s not all! we have all the Dol Amroth range in images now! they are wonderful!
July 25, 2008 at 3:35 pm #2610Wonderful indeed. I only hope GW don’t kick up a fuss with Tolkien Enterprises because of Mithril’s perhaps unwise decision to refer to the range as an “army” – they may feel Mithril is trespassing on their own turf!
And the hillman and knight of Arnor are rather good too. Personally, however, I’m looking forward to seeing the mounted horseman for the Army of the Dead.
July 25, 2008 at 4:01 pm #2611Excellent news! Awesome figures! It is about time.
Now I have to save up to get these wonderful figures for my collection!
July 25, 2008 at 4:53 pm #2612Chris told me the “problems” they had with Tolkien Enterprises regarding their regular releases has been concluded, and it is over. that’s why they have been able (and authorized by TE) to release the knights, and should proceed to more and more regular releases.
(the problem they had with TE, because of GW I suppose… was, if I understood well, the MAIN reason why there was SO FEW mithril release… not a problem with Chris having problem handling everything…. ) Still, about our ideas of a bi-monthly suggestion, Chris mentionned he would keep on a monthly basis suggestion but all GF figurines will be “SINGLE UNMOUNTED, without accessories” only, for the time being. If that is not enough to slow down the pace, he will think about bi-monthly suggestion, but not yet.July 25, 2008 at 7:38 pm #2613Seems the Ringwraith in his true form is giving Chris a bit of trouble, not that I would blame him. I don’t really visualize well how it would be sculpted.
July 25, 2008 at 9:50 pm #2614Chris told me much the same as you, Gildor, but it doesn’r change my concerns re GW and TE – they’re both pretty fickle, if history is anything to go by, and TE can change its mind on the merest whim.
Still, let’s not worry about that until it happens (as it doubtless will somewhere down the road).
As for the Ringwraith in his true form, that’s where we look to The Man’s imagination to get the job done. But I do hope the figure won’t resemble the Barrow-wights or the ordinary Nazgul – I’m hoping for something far more sinister!
July 25, 2008 at 10:06 pm #2615not an easy task, it has to be his true form… during the War of the Ring… thus eliminating the “MERP design armor for Er-Murazor” which was during his lifetime…
some ghostly way… with a crown for sure and a morgul knife I suppose, still that means… putting a FACE on a Nazgul, who are faceless…. that’s as hard as Sauron…August 5, 2008 at 9:02 am #2736Puuhhhh- Master Erchamion,
very wonderful indeed- the picture of the Arnorian Knight and the Hillman King. Absolutely great miniatures ! Do you have further informations concerning them ? By the way: what is GF ? Can somebody clear me up ? ( this is german english:D )August 5, 2008 at 9:11 am #2737GF = Gold Fellowship.

August 5, 2008 at 2:35 pm #2756Tar-Minastir, king of Numenor

I love how it has become “my” suggestion. Excellent as all the work of C.Tubb
August 5, 2008 at 2:40 pm #2757They’re both very nice figures indeed. William has a perfect look of gormlessness, and Tar-Minastir of pride! Great work from The Man.
August 5, 2008 at 2:42 pm #2758excellent! exclusive pictures
are these final pics?
August 5, 2008 at 4:07 pm #2759They’re in the Mithril newsletter that arrived a few hours ago.
August 5, 2008 at 5:35 pm #2760Great figures! William the troll is great, but the other one I don’t know about him. Let me look in my guide to middle earth book.
August 5, 2008 at 6:59 pm #2761Tar-Minastir is a king of the Second age , eleventh king in Numenor, he appears in the appendices (and of course in the Silmarillion, this is an exception because this character is clearly mentionned in the LOTR appendices and is NOT a major Simarllion character)… this is the king who sent the Numenorean armada to help Gil-Galad crush Sauron forces around SA 1700. This fleet established itself in the Numenorean colonial port (in Middle-earth) of Vinyalondë, built by Tar-Aldarion…
August 5, 2008 at 8:17 pm #2762It seems, that THE MAN is in fantastic modelling form. I should really think about becoming a GF-member:rolleyes:
Thinking about which one is the best becomes more and more hard . . .
Wow- I love that troll !August 6, 2008 at 4:45 am #2765It’s well worth joining, Master R. – the Fellowship has come up with some sterling suggestions over the past couple of years, and The Man has transformed all of them into gems. Its hard to have favourites, but one of the best is certainly the Halbarad figure – it’s probably worth joining just to get him!
August 6, 2008 at 6:02 am #2766well it would be difficult to get Halbarad now master Barliman. In case you had not noticed, the [mith]MS437[/mith] Halbarad figurine price (according to Zoetrop) has reached 60€ average price… because it has “sold out”! from Mithril… It is the first (and only) GF figurine to not be available anymore!
August 6, 2008 at 6:20 am #2767I think, Master Gildor, that the price of Halbarad has risen since.
A couple of months ago were sold two MS437 in Ebay for 80 £ (about 102 €) and 98 £ (about 125 €). By the way, are the only two I’ve seen in MS437 Ebay this year, I do not know if there will be left for sale any more ….
