November 29, 2010 at 3:34 pm #13634Thanks my friend!
November 29, 2010 at 5:04 pm #13640Absolutely! Absolutely!
Especially the sword! Great!
Be careful, Master Tolwen could explain, that such a sword wasnยดt mentioned by Master Tolkien . . .November 29, 2010 at 5:12 pm #13642The position of the horse, is also changed?
November 29, 2010 at 6:16 pm #13646…I see that figure is finished…. magnificent… After all those conversions of all those mounted Haradim it seems to me is no other choice but to buy those few spare figures and convert them…. I’m curious what can I do
November 29, 2010 at 10:45 pm #13670WOW!
Nice job, Master Caster! I wish I had one of those…..November 29, 2010 at 11:13 pm #13673Great! What are you planning to do with them? A diorama of the Pelennor would be great.
November 30, 2010 at 5:49 am #13676Only because it was not mentioned by T, doesn’t mean it does not exist. It is a imaginary world. That’s why I love the books, I can use my own imagination in how to see things and what is there or not.
I’m sure T didn’t mention toilets either, but I’m also sure the people living in the large cities where not sitting in the streets to do their “thing”. ๐What am I going to do with them? Don’t know! They might have to take a long journey to reinforce some friends in attacking a caravan…..

Well, yes and and no as the Elves would say
Personally I prefer a systematic approach in developing or interpreting the “white spaces” in Middle-earth. First look at what information we have available from Tolkien on the matter in question (e.g. positive evidence), compare these to fitting real-world models (if possible) and from there working to get a most probable extrapolation/interpretation. Therefore I am always sounding like the “Tolkien police”, but try to base it on positive evidence as sketched above. It’s certainly less “artistic” as when I let my imagination run free first, but IMO it’s the best way to get an approximation of the style Tolkien developed as well (and thus produce results that fit).
Whenever possible, I always try to avoid to argue with *missing* evidence as the rationale for my solutions, as it is always in danger of getting too close to the argumentum ad ignorantiam, which is of course no base for serious discussion (at least I hope so that this is a consensus here as well )
As for everyday tasks like people doing their “thing” it’s of course not really a challenge, but for things going beyond mundane tasks (e.g. peculiarities in Middle-earth), the first look to what we have is IMO a prerequisite for sound extrapolations.
Best

I think this is exactly what this “original-figure” is meant of. Want to say, this is exactly that what to do.
Ahem-want to say, this is the perfect conversion for that figure . . .
