it seems Chris is not selling anything at the time… and no I don’t have any news yet about june release

I have too much work at the moment actually and I got completly away from Mithril matters for quite some times… and it will be so for quite some time still , alas
June 26, 2012 at 8:25 pm #24422I hope you don’t suffer from withdrawal symptoms…
June 26, 2012 at 9:34 pm #24423withdrawal symptom? mmhh can you explain?
if by this you mean removing myself from this community, not at all… though recently I have 0% of my time involved in mithril activity I confess… too much work, but i’m currently trying to get updated on next phaeton releases due in a couple of days if any…
I will keep you updated as always…
(on a side note I was frustrated enough not to be able to participate to this Beregond contest because my job and activities overwhelmed me and I could not find time to finish painting it in time… and though I am quite appreciative and even wonderfully amazed by all the works I have seen done even if I often remain silent about it, I’m quite sad to – ONCE again – not find enough time to dedicate to one of my main passions… but life is as it is, and choices have to be made sometimes… end of parenthesis)
June 26, 2012 at 10:08 pm #24424and as a proof :
on July 3rd, two new releases of a new set (mithril-style but not mithril) based on old CH releases (more Friend&Foes actually…)
using the model of the “Air Elemental” ([mith]DE3[/mith]) their names will be Prospero & Ariel (I suppose it comes from “The Tempest” by William Shakespeare)
I’ll get pics and more details next weekJune 26, 2012 at 10:21 pm #24426…. great news….. !
June 27, 2012 at 1:41 am #24427It will doubtless be impressive, though outside my own area of interest – I’m purely a Tolkien fan myself, as is probably known to everyone by now!
I hope you’re workload eases soon, Master Gildor.
June 30, 2012 at 4:48 pm #24445huomm … could also be regarded as bad news …. in case you’ve once read the “The Tempest” … I hope I’m wrong … though …
July 3, 2012 at 6:16 pm #24484Please find the new releases of Phaeton on http://phaeton.faerylands.eu
Please note also that due to car problem, Chris won’t be able to go to the post office before July 7th so no shipment will be sent before this date. As a side note, Chris will soon put on ebay all the former Phaeton releases again to be bought (on ebay or directly)
I will send the mass email shortly I hope… (as always the man gives me no respite and sends me all info on the date of release…)July 3, 2012 at 7:05 pm #24485ouh, I like PCH11 very much !
Merci Gildor
July 3, 2012 at 7:08 pm #24486Love it… and I’ll love to see Miranda and Caliban too…
But still waiting for Discovering Dark Elves vignette  . Maybe someday
July 3, 2012 at 8:03 pm #24487thank you very much, Gildor, for providing and passing on the information … very welcome that is …
July 3, 2012 at 8:14 pm #24488Good news! If The Man continues like this (and with these prices so attractive) I will stop buying figures-groups-vignettes of “Mithril” with prices ranging from 21-70 euros per month…..
July 3, 2012 at 8:22 pm #24489Figures are great…. better than expected

like always….July 3, 2012 at 8:29 pm #24490yes, indeed … Master Erchamion … sorry, but I don’t understand the Spanish tongue well … just keep on, please …. rhuom …
July 3, 2012 at 8:53 pm #24491Don´t worry, Master Tree: I will continue here (although I do not read much lately the forum). I need to learn something from Ent tongue, too … But it is increasingly difficult to pay the price of Mithril. I have not bought GF figures since Christmas. Now if I want to “be current”, I have to pay 250 euros!!!!! Per 7 month of GF figures! It´s crazy! 😡
July 3, 2012 at 8:54 pm #24492Fact is, the price of those double-figurines has increased this month, PCH11 is £16 compared to PM4 which is only £15 (and a difference of £1 is more than a difference of 1€ but this remains reasonnable)
still, before speaking about mithril vignettes compared to Phaeton “doubles” prices I’d wait for the release of the first Phaeton VIGNETTES and compare what is comparable… a vignette with lots of metal costs necessarily more… of course 70€ is absurd but I’d understand a 40€ for example…
Still I think Phaeton vignettes , being a “mix” of metal+good quality resin for big parts would prove the best deal…If, and I insist on the IF…the releases of phaeton two big forthcoming vignettes are a true success, maybe Chris could use this success in sales and enthusiasm to confront Lars with the idea of allowing “scarce use” of good quality resin for mithril VIGNETTES (for bases or BIG pieces for example) that would dramatically reduce the prices and the characters would remain in metal of course. (except if those characters are 54mm size…. on a 32mm scale… Like Sauron or Stone Giants…
Have you never wondered why the last Trolls and Balrogs were smaller….. because bigger would be more expensive and unsellable…. most of all as GF “super-priced” figs…
I trust that in order to reduce production costs and prices and thus increase sales, mithril really could focus on resin for their bases for vignettes… most of all when you consider that sometimes bases are not even used by people who build dioramas…
but you nevertheless pay the price of metal (and casting…) for those bases…July 3, 2012 at 8:56 pm #24493addendum : don’t misunderstand me… I’ll never agree to a plastic “standard” base for mithril N-E-V-E-R… I just mean bases when there is a big base, and it has to be GOOD quality (like the [mith]MB279[/mith], not those awful GW last releases with bad quality casting problems and all)
As a matter of fact, I have seen pictures of the master at least one of the forthcoming phaeton vignette, and Chris told me he was satisfied with the resin cast so far (still prototypes…) so if Chris is satisfied it means very good quality as he would not accept less…
I alas can’t share the info yet as I have no authorization for that and it is not yet “fully ready”

However, it’s only a few months since the latest Ent, and he was the “right” size, so Mithril’s policy is a little inconsistent on that score – and it doesn’t explain why we’re suddenly getting so many large vignette MS releases. One Huorn surely involved a lot less metal than a vignette and could therefore have been the same height as his forebears?
However, this has nothing to do with Phaeton figures, so I’ll go back to the bar now and get on with the morning cleaning….

I didn´t ! Sorry. Too much similarity to Silent Shadow. Nothing new. Also concerning the magiciant´s pose.
July 6, 2012 at 2:25 pm #24508well I agree with Turambar a bit, though the ghost is a copy of DE4, from which Silent Shadow is also a copy… in this way PCH11 is closer to the original actually…
as for Prospero, indeed a bit too “similar”… -
