well actually I do not care if they are or not that was my point
because I still have 450 mithril references to paint
actually it would “almost” be a boon, if they were not in business anymore :p

Lucky you, I only painted less than a hundred…
July 5, 2013 at 5:28 pm #28279…. I have only 11 figures still to finish painting… ( MV592 )
I do not know if it is good or bad… but I hope Chris will be still in business in next 12 years… Mithril is not relevant here… :rolleyes:July 5, 2013 at 7:26 pm #28281Barliman wrote:…..and hope that when they become rebellious teenagers they won’t start buying Games Workshop figures just to annoy you!or sell the mithril ones to buy more games workshop crapcast!
July 5, 2013 at 8:24 pm #28282What an appalling concept – go wash your mouth out!
July 7, 2013 at 8:39 pm #28284Chris asked me to post this picture as a “taster” here. It is a preview of the new “Necromancer’s Tower” set.
Could you please comment and give feedback as he would indeed want to know how it is received by collectors

Here it is :

July 7, 2013 at 9:50 pm #28286a very special troll in this case, a necroamancer or shaman troll though I have no idea about the titles for those two references. but in the Phaeton range, I don’t know what kind of troll (if it is a troll) it could be
July 7, 2013 at 9:56 pm #28287WOW !
This is really fantastic. I hope the translation will transport a bit of the feeling of a german expression: wacky.
Rich detailed also! Much better than the last realeses. I like also very much the staff with the animal skull
and the helmet design of the Troll.
With this, Mr. Tubb is defenetly on the right way!And thanks for the PICTURE !!!!!
July 8, 2013 at 2:10 am #28288The troll/oger is great, I like the other guy too!! I would buy them both.
July 8, 2013 at 6:59 am #28289Really amazing. Thanks:D
July 8, 2013 at 9:30 am #28290Juste génial.
July 8, 2013 at 9:45 am #28291… feedback….. ouuuh yes…. we want more !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Figures like this of course… ! This is magnificent !
July 8, 2013 at 1:30 pm #28292Absolutely great figures. I’m really looking forward to the complete series. – Unfortunately the picture is a bit small in size.
July 8, 2013 at 1:47 pm #28293Yes, very nice figures indeed artistically (though I confess that style-wise they’re a bit too “MERP Fantasy” for my own tastes). Like the Tree, I look forward immensely to seeing the entire range.
July 8, 2013 at 2:24 pm #28294mmhh about them being too “merp fantasy”, what do you mean barliman? how would you have prefered them?
July 8, 2013 at 2:38 pm #28295It’s all in the eye of the beholder, Mater Elf. To me, the dress and equipment of these particular figures is more akin to the ICE books and the ICE figures in the Mithril range than Chris’s more canonical LOTR Mithril figures. But as I say, it’s all down to personal tastes, and the figures themselves are – as one would expect – very impressive bits of design.
July 8, 2013 at 4:28 pm #28296One has to remember that those figurines are derived/inspired from a planned but never achieved project to be released by PA concerning … precisely… an ICE book…
so that is normal these figurine are akin to the “art” we could have found in this precise book…
July 8, 2013 at 4:40 pm #28297. . . well, I agree with Master Barliman concerning this MERP looking style.
Though I really like them, in this case . . .July 8, 2013 at 4:40 pm #28298I wasn’t aware of that. It certainly explains their “look”. And I’m still looking forward to seeing the remainder of the range. The ICE figures are quite often “usable” in an LOTR game or vignette context, if not necessarily in the same context as the ICE books intended.
