well actually I do not care if they are or not that was my point because I still have 450 mithril references to paint

…. I have only 11 figures still to finish painting… ( MV592 ) I do not know if it is good or bad… but I hope Chris will be still in business in next 12 years… Mithril is not relevant here… :rolleyes:

Could you please comment and give feedback as he would indeed want to know how it is received by collectors

a very special troll in this case, a necroamancer or shaman troll though I have no idea about the titles for those two references. but in the Phaeton range, I don’t know what kind of troll (if it is a troll) it could be

WOW !
This is really fantastic. I hope the translation will transport a bit of the feeling of a german expression: wacky.
Rich detailed also! Much better than the last realeses. I like also very much the staff with the animal skull
and the helmet design of the Troll.
With this, Mr. Tubb is defenetly on the right way!

Yes, very nice figures indeed artistically (though I confess that style-wise they’re a bit too “MERP Fantasy” for my own tastes). Like the Tree, I look forward immensely to seeing the entire range.

It’s all in the eye of the beholder, Mater Elf. To me, the dress and equipment of these particular figures is more akin to the ICE books and the ICE figures in the Mithril range than Chris’s more canonical LOTR Mithril figures. But as I say, it’s all down to personal tastes, and the figures themselves are – as one would expect – very impressive bits of design.

One has to remember that those figurines are derived/inspired from a planned but never achieved project to be released by PA concerning … precisely… an ICE book…

so that is normal these figurine are akin to the “art” we could have found in this precise book…

I wasn’t aware of that. It certainly explains their “look”. And I’m still looking forward to seeing the remainder of the range. The ICE figures are quite often “usable” in an LOTR game or vignette context, if not necessarily in the same context as the ICE books intended.
