We have 7 dwarves with no complicate clothing and a god also semi-nude.The white council is now 50 euro with 5 figures and a really nice base. 54mm figures 18 euro for a total 68 euro.
Considering the charge of Prince August company (rental, salaries, taxes…), mithril price is fair compared to 65 euro.
September 4, 2013 at 7:51 am #28523comparing a low number release such as this one, to a “general release” such as the White Council is not a good comparison according to me…
This release is more like a “Gold Fellowship” small batches release, and does not generate revenue by quantities sold. It is not like a “regular” big batches release.
Consider comparing it to [mith]MS435[/mith] http://mithril.ie/PBSCProduct.asp?ItmID=11378962
or [mith]MS578[/mith] http://mithril.ie/PBSCProduct.asp?ItmID=11414146usually the Phaeton prices are £8 (9.46€) per figurine, so 7*8 = £56 for the “dark elves” alone, “Thor” not being taken into account, and neither the base. and the vignette price is still £55
Strangely, “regular single releases” such as Helm’s Deep 2 have a price of 11,95€ each which taken individually is far more expensive than Phaeton.
the “Gold Fellowhip single releases” are 21€ for 32mm scale, and rather 29€ for bigger figurinesBesides, the “god” and the base are in resin as far as I remember, else it would have been a lot more expensive.
September 4, 2013 at 8:34 am #28524…. for me… another great piece of sculpting art… and price…. fine… I will pay at friday

I miss something …
On the picture I see 7 dwarves and not a single dark elf…
Resin casting is cheaper as well as for the mold creation than the casting material.
…
And anyway I will buy 2 sets as usual as this figure is really great. 😎
September 4, 2013 at 9:10 am #28526Has it changed since we last saw a picture? I can’t remember when (or where) that was!
September 4, 2013 at 10:27 am #28527because these are not dwarves, these are “dark elves” from nordic mythology… and the God is Thor…

I don’t remember posting this picture before? well this picture is from the Master, which was finalized some months ago. I had it but only got official authorization to post it now…
September 4, 2013 at 10:35 am #28528Now that I think about it he sent me a picture of it a while ago, with the same request – not to reveal it. It was so long ago I’d completely forgotten about it! (Memory like a lumber-room, remember.)

Dark elves with beard ? This is unusual to me. I’m not conviced by these almost naked bearded fellows. why no female nor child with them ?
😆About Thor, he looks great 😎
September 4, 2013 at 2:58 pm #28530Better than the movie version, that’s for damn sure.
September 4, 2013 at 3:09 pm #28531well the dark eves from the Edda in the nordic mythology were ennemies of the god Thor. who confronted them.
those dark elves in Norse Mythology , the “Dökkálfar”, are -sometimes- considered to be the dwarves, as they are dark small and live underground. There are other texts mentionning dwarves along the dark elves as two separate races but there is an ambiguity…
Nevertheless, the official description of this vignette is “Thor fighting the Dark Elves” as these are his archnemesis. Even the forthcoming Thor movies represents them as aliens from the “Dark World” (cf : http://collider.com/thor-2-dark-elves-images/ )
any ressemblance to another theme would be purely… coincidential…

September 4, 2013 at 3:56 pm #28533I’m not aware enough for this riddle. But who care’s ?
September 4, 2013 at 5:09 pm #28534in the meantime I’d like to present you a little work made by my gentle lady for the phaeton website. Chris autorized me to use it for the time being , while the final and official one is being produced by his long time friend Treadway (which is depicted in the Mithril range as “Hundin – Chief Bandit” for those who remember)

September 4, 2013 at 6:29 pm #28535Very interesting debate as usual, but I have one question… when we could buy those bunch of “dark elves”
….September 4, 2013 at 6:48 pm #28536as I mentionned they will be ready for shipping on Sept 9th

I am in the process of updating the website, but technically you could already order it by sending your payment to Chris.
Don’t forget the shipping prices are slightly higher than usual, please refer to my post for the costs
(it will be mentionned in the website as well)September 4, 2013 at 7:50 pm #28537The logo looks like a logo of an american motorcycle in the 30ies of the last century.

September 5, 2013 at 7:41 am #28542alas, as I sent my broadcast email to all of you, I received a mail from Roland “Bombadil” Pastoor saying he was no more interested in anything connected to mithril and figurines were no more a hobby of his

I remember Bombadil as a good and active member among collectors it is sad to see him completly away and not wanting to hear anything anymore about miniatures

and now I just saw Jdbrown was also selling his collection… these are dire times indeed
