I think the problem is based on that “concept” (if you can call that a concept) that Mithril miniatures have been reduced to a single series (MS/MZ) that is based on some ideas of “suggestors”. There have been no more interesting new ideas for years. Except if you regard over-and-over repetition of suggestions being the base of innovation.
So where’s the old M-series-concept gone? – A series of ten figures related to an idea? Can you achieve that with the concept of that what we have with the MS/MZ – releases. That’s been gone for good some years ago. Alright, let’s just accept it – or, if you want, just neglect it.Well I do hope I at least interjected a bit of “newness” two years ago… I still hope the other two Lorien boat ideas come about one day to complete that “concept”.
I also am very glad, even though I came here at such a late date, to have interacted with all the fine folks here. All have been more than kind and welcoming and that is greatly appreciated!

I cannot give you specifics but the classic series cannot be continued as it currently is, as we have changed production methods. So it looks like they’re going to try one more “Classic Character” line of new sculpts. Maybe similar to the old LT or LR figures? I specifically asked if Chris T. is involved with this new line. We’ll see if he answers…
Well here’s the answer to my question:
Quote:Chris is behind all Mithril miniatures as long as he wishes to be.May 15, 2018 at 6:38 am #37082His signature is still engraved on the bottom of the base… so.. once when we see base without his name.. that will be the end of Chris involvement into production of our beloved miniatures…

May 15, 2018 at 1:46 pm #37086Still this is quite more important than a pile of grey metal…

Happy to have been sharing all this long years with you all because despite my “cames and backs” I was here since the last days of Mithrandir and the long lost old forum…
Cheers to all! Long live the pony!May 15, 2018 at 4:45 pm #37087Been there done that and stay here until the Pony closes!
May 17, 2018 at 11:54 am #37098I share your thoughts, indeed I even “forgot” to buy since december, which is a strange and I guess bad sign for my mithril soul.
Still, I enjoy very much helping all mithril casters and collectors.Well not as much as breakfasts of course !
Then about talks, I still have in mind to visit many of you…

Sorry to be that honest with this entry.Dear Master Theobald… I think you need to go on mithril web site and cancel your autoshipment… they announced today another sales week with 25% of for every GF figure including 2018. releases…. hoummmm….
not fair for you…
… or you try negotiate that they give you at least 25% discount for this autoshipment… average annual discounts on various sales actions are also greater than 25% and aoutshipment applies in only 10%…. not fair it all…May 17, 2018 at 5:30 pm #37106well I really think those sales have a taste of “destocking everything before finale cloture”…
they become too frequent…
May 17, 2018 at 6:12 pm #37108Far to frequent me thinks!
May 17, 2018 at 10:13 pm #37114Well, thank you Thingol, I have also received that latest newsletter. Indeed, it’s my fault not to have cancelled that “autoshipment” about a year ago already. Maybe two years … or even three years ? – I know how to cancel that and I will do so, as it does not make any sense any more, as I pointed out. Thank you for your your entry, dear Thingol.
May 17, 2018 at 10:34 pm #37115Alas, dear Elf, to me the decline of Mithril (facing its very end) could have been witnessed for some years. It’s not only those frequent discounts that have reveiled it. Yes, indeed, the word “destocking” is excellent, Gildor. Mind that this development started some years ago and is increasing from year to year, as Holger also confirmed. The idea behind this development can only be called “final closure”, as you put it. I kept this thought for some years with me. There have been so many different things within the last years that only lead to this conclusion. – Alright, I’m really sorry about this as you might imagine.
May 18, 2018 at 6:35 pm #37120Please dear friends, do not be overly pessimistic. Mithril has been in decline for a few years, it is true. And Chris has not been in contact with us as he once was on a more regular basis. But there is no expiration tag on the Mithril brand at this point, and all companies carry liabilities on their balance sheets. It is more properly a question of net worth, return on equity, earnings, and cash flow that matter in the operation of a business. So then, I know that the “patient,” (Mithril) is not “terminal.” It will be interesting to see if there is indeed a revival of the M series.
As for MX, it is not dead yet and I am in talks with Lars (and expect to talk to Chris soon) regarding a new project. It will be the first time in a year that we have communicated, and I will relate what I find out.
May 18, 2018 at 6:46 pm #37121Good on you Tom!
May 18, 2018 at 9:38 pm #37125I wish you good luck and all the best with your new project, Master Twrich. At the moment it seems it is you who keeps the MX releases going.
May 18, 2018 at 10:50 pm #37126well Tom, if you manage to get in touch with Chris, please let him know it would be kind to answer my mails to at least say if he fares well…
I’m sure you’ll understand that I took this silence very personnally
