so… the indian company whom Mithril was working with to release the new website went into administration…. and that means quite a rollback…. no solution yet… I’ll keep you informed
July 25, 2011 at 6:57 pm #18826The expression “there’s a surprise” springs to mind.
July 25, 2011 at 7:16 pm #18828I am not sure I understand everything but if true, use of indian’s offshore for website’s design & development is no good idea…unless you catch indian market at the end of course
July 25, 2011 at 7:21 pm #18829well you understand well…. Lars wanted to make some “price savings” by using an offshore to build the new website… too expensive to have an occidental company to build it…
for godsake, is there nobody around who knows companies that could help Mithril build their website? a PRO one…

July 25, 2011 at 10:16 pm #18853it is led by one man, and managed by another… whom -I suppose- keeps telling the leading one “everything is fine, I handle it”.. while he does not and cannot… but won’t accept help from outside

July 26, 2011 at 7:15 am #18866So there is no difference between Indians (south and north american) and Indians (ladies and gentelmen from India) …. Here’s the difference between “Indians” and the serious business…. complicated….. uf !
July 27, 2011 at 4:56 pm #18912this is it… the new M format suggestion/vote/preorder is official… Lars posted the newsletter with password in it…
I submitted HD2 already so that it is present for the next suggestions…. I suppose many people will want to vote for it, but let’s be fair and play the “game”… let’s submit other sets… like…. the gray company why not? It had a lot of success on the MMP poll
so I let you suggest. I hope this new project will work
July 27, 2011 at 6:23 pm #18913I think I have an idea which may work nicely if properly done. I’ll work on sketches and see what can I do.
Anyway €22.50 / figure for an M serie miniature is simply not realistic, however €7.50 is acceptable. We’ll see what happens.
July 27, 2011 at 6:44 pm #18916…. I will suggest something… for sure… I will decide in next few days what I would like to have. It might be a good tactic to get together here agree what would we like (MMP suggestion). It is important not to lose the voices and ideas in the mass of the proposals.
HD2 is logical suggestion. It will then surely soon be on the market. Since we have already seen many pictures…..
July 27, 2011 at 7:07 pm #18919Hell, I am sure I could get someone to knock them up a word press based site for two hundred euro, and add another hundred euro to link it to commercial shop front software.
Wouldn’t take them very long either…
July 27, 2011 at 8:19 pm #18921Michael has sent you a newsletter with the password today?
July 27, 2011 at 9:16 pm #18924Well- you can´t suggest the legendary Easterlings. Always produced as we have learned here somewhere.
The are: “too large for this release”.
So this Easterlings-discussion brakes my nerves meanwhiling.
You can´t byu them, you can´t suggest them, you can´t nothing . . .
This is so f..##+++g frustrating, I can not tell . . . 😡 😡 😡
@ erchmion: yes, drop me a mail under this: christofne@web.de
I tell you!July 27, 2011 at 10:10 pm #18925well certainly Turambar you know what happened with the mess of the Dol Amroth knights being casted altogether with their horse in the past… Easterlings are the opposite of Dol Amroth from what I understood , almost all mounted… this can’t be achieved until mithril knows if this new system is successful or not…
In the meantime… if Mithril does not communicate about this new project WIDELY, this will be a full failure because nobody will buy nor preorder a ranger at 22,5€/figurine… and this project is what it is… a project… if it fails… you can say goodbye to M range once and for all..
and to Helm’s Deep 2, 3 and even the possibility of Easterlings…
and since Mithril won’t do a lot of things regarding the promotion…. I don’t want to be pessimist, as Chris and myself are the main persons who suggested this project… but it has to be done the right way…
July 27, 2011 at 10:17 pm #18926I posted my point in the official board…. I hope I’ll get an answer soon…
July 27, 2011 at 10:32 pm #18927Erchamion, I have problems with my inbox or whatever. So- you have to take my email account: this is: christofine@web.de !!!
Gildor, I know that. But it makes me frustratet, still! I surely won´t pay 22,50 for a single figure being part of this m-range project. Surely NOT!
Let´s wait and see.July 27, 2011 at 10:44 pm #18928Voted for the logical choice of HD2 (I want to see Master Archer’s long anticipated projetc come to fruition ).
I do wonder though if the root cause of Mithril’s problems with selling figures doesn’t just transfer over to this idea, if they wouldn’t listen to advice/offers of help etc. to get the M range back up and running in the first place how do they expect to reach the ‘magic’ 400+ buyers this time around if they can’t get the message out to the wider audience! I hope I am proved wrong – just imagine if they get 800 orders .
I’m certainly not relishing paying silly prices for a 32mm figurine, and probably won’t to be honest – Oh to have won the £161, 000,000 euro millions last week, i would have made an offer to buy Mithril’s licence for the rights and made Chris an offer he couldn’t refuse and released the bloody lot, Easterlings and all
July 28, 2011 at 12:25 am #18929that’s an idea I had at a time…. but I don’t have money enough to “buy” mithril and the tolkien licence with it…and have chris work with me…
July 28, 2011 at 6:36 am #18930I’m another one who won’t buy these at the €22.50 price – simply because I couldn’t afford to spend £200 on 10 tiny toy soldiers, however wonderful they are. If HD1 sold poorly at hiked prices, why on Middle-earth should the next M range sell better at three times those prices? it just doesn’t make sense.
I agree with the Elf. They really need to do some proper promotion if they hope to get even 200 people involved. I just don’t see them bothering, so the whole project is likely to be dead in the water before it even gets launched.
