“That, my lad, was a dragon . . . “
For those who can not wait please follow this link to watch the new teaser:http://www.herr-der-ringe-film.de/v3/de/news/tolkienfilme/news_107329.php
June 11, 2013 at 6:01 pm #28048quite ….. hollywood-ic……….. elves pursuing dwarves in barrels accross the river….. yet one more absurdity…
but oh well… that LOOKS great…. but only LOOKS … that’s what we ask of a movie isn’t it… to LOOK great, not to BE great
June 11, 2013 at 6:43 pm #28049huoommm …
June 11, 2013 at 6:46 pm #28050in line with the first film ….. The setting and photography is still great!
June 11, 2013 at 6:56 pm #28051I’m sure JRRT will be rolling in his grave about the liberties taken with his story, but it still looks like it’s going to be an entertaining movie.
June 11, 2013 at 7:13 pm #28052well I agree with barliman… a visually stunning “medfan” movie….
but as far from the Hobbit as possible….
Still, at some points, it looks like “all that you have ever wanted to see in the tolkien books but haven’t” (even if seen by PJ vision alas) … For example, Gandalf and Radagast at Dol Guldur… non canon but.. interesting
June 11, 2013 at 7:22 pm #28053Whole bloody today world repose on entertainment… and those movies are just a little part of this global production of fake money…. but who cares…. we should have more fun, enjoy it in a hilarious party in Middle-earth…
I got home a copy of the first part, I’ll do the same with the other parts. To rip DVD…
Some scenes in this trailer suggest that the second part will be much more dynamic…. so we should wait… to see many news from the “Hobbit” book… Maybe they are fragments of Tolkien’s subconscious….
June 11, 2013 at 9:01 pm #28055Oh, and I meant to say that I love the way Smaug slides maleovently into view in the final shot! Very impressive.
By the way, is it just me, or does the guy playing Bard look scarily like Orlando Bloom’s character in the Pirates movies? Twins, maybe? Nah, can’t be.
In the meantime Mrs B. has fallen in love with Thranduil’s voice….

Excellent Nino – I missed it first time around
June 11, 2013 at 11:06 pm #28057Mrs B. has fallen in love with Thranduil’s voice . . . very interesting that is . . .
Well- what to say. I think EVERYBODY here is clearly aware about, that money makes the world go around, isn´t it?!
So let´s focus on the visual aspects: like Elvenking´s halls. That is brilliant!
Or Laketown. A bit dirty, a but “underdog-like” , very interesting.
The company in front of Dale´s ruins . . . fantastic atmosphere. Is that snow all around ????So- after reading the book, what did really happen in the first part: nothing! Nothing that makes the book so interesting.
I suppose that´s the main point for ma disappointment.
No Beorn, no Mirkwood, no Woodelves, no Esgaroth, no Smaug.
Concerning Smaug. Mr. S seemed to be the most hidden sectret in film-history.
Well- that´s a Dragon. I can remember that “they” talked about disigning Smaug years ago. With Master Del Toro still on bord.
And this Dragon should be THE dragon. But- is he?
Comparing the first view with other “examples” in film history I defenetly have doubt.(And different people here do know, that I know who is THE dragon . . . But that´s another story, and off topic also. )
It is about further “behind the scenes” videos, and making-of-stuff on which we are waiting for months . . .
June 12, 2013 at 7:03 pm #28061I totally agrre that what I pleaes me, except preview for “Samug The dragon” I should Say ! 😆
June 14, 2013 at 11:33 pm #28062Best thing for me was Iñigo Montoya cameo. I’ve missed this character from the Princess Bride.
By the way, do you know if they are going to include Bard and the Northmen of Esgaroth?
June 15, 2013 at 7:15 am #28063I think we see Bard in the trailer, whereas there is no preview for Beorn…
June 15, 2013 at 7:26 am #28064Bard is indeed in the trailer – he’s the fellow I jokingly suggested looked like Orlando Bloom as he appears in the Pirate movies. Beorn may not be there because, I imagine, his shots probably involve special effects work, which may not be finished yet.
June 15, 2013 at 8:17 am #28065Oh, really? So the latin looking guy is not Iñigo Montoya after all… (just kidding!).
Beorn is in the trailer, in the scene with the Dwarfs closing the doors to prevent a big furry head to come in.
June 15, 2013 at 10:47 am #28066I shall have to look at it again.
June 15, 2013 at 4:19 pm #28069A very big head, indeed!!! 😮
