On dirait la belle et la bête….
October 5, 2013 at 4:05 pm #28812Alors, mon ami je comprend ca …huommm … maybe la bête is just a guy with some fuzzy hair around his neck … rhuomm … no bear would wear his hairy-things like that … huommm … disgusting that is … huom … though it seems to fit well with the other characters displayed in the first part … rhu^om … I just dislike that comic-vise version of that Hobbit, which still indeed is a good book to be read again … huoomm … I can well get along reading without being tortured by visual extremes forced onto me by some PJ … rhuomm ….
… huom … and yes, please, Master Barliman, I’m in a very need of that “Triple XXX thud” liquid now …. rhuom? … er “on draught” you said … huommm … that means you have to top it up, please …. rhuom … right to the brim that is,please … huom … may I offer you a bowl of the same liquid, please … rhuommm … I do know that it would be inacceptable to give a barkeep a coin … huom … so I’ll pay for the two XXX … right? … huommm … I’ll pay for the bill, of course …. rhuomm …October 5, 2013 at 4:40 pm #28813Triple XXX Thud it is, and thank’ee kindly for mine. Nor many folk think of buying a drink for the landlord.
As for The Hobbit movies, I “switch off” my criticism mode as far as they’re concerned, and look upon them not as anything much to do with the actual book, but more as a jolly romp through the backrooms of JRRT’s mind, where he may have stored who knows what additional details and unrealised notions that never found their way into the published version. As an aside, have you read the couple of expanded chapters of “The Hobbit” that he did write, to bring it more into line with LOTR’s deeper more adult style? Very interesting they are.
October 7, 2013 at 3:02 pm #28822Planet of the Apes, maybe ???

October 16, 2013 at 10:13 pm #28867. . . Planet of the Apes . . . ? Off topic I would say . . .
But anyway- hopefully I am a step in front of our Master erchamion.
There is a new banner around which shows some nice details . . .[imgz url=http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/32_hobbitbanner-cb210598.jpg]http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/thumbs/32_hobbitbanner-cb210598.jpg[/imgz]

October 30, 2013 at 11:04 pm #28940Well, that Esgaroth set is absolutely amazing and the subject I long the most for concerning “part 2” .

October 31, 2013 at 10:29 am #28941Very nice scene! I can breathe the ambient cold … 😮
October 31, 2013 at 12:24 pm #28944In case any of you aren’t aware, the vignette-builderrs among you may be interested in the superb range of “Laketown” buildings that Thomarilion have recently started to produce:
http://www.thomarillion.de/index.php?suchanfrage=laketown&seite=suche&sprache=gb_&suchen=%3E%3E
If you like them, I’d recommend that you buy them sooner rather than later, because I daresay that Tolkien Enterprises will jump on Thomarilion (yet again…) as soon as they catch on to these models existing – especially since Thomas and co. have unwisely called them by a name that TE will claim (inaccurately, of course, but hey, they can afford the lawyers) is their copyright.
As ever, Thomarilion also continue to produce a wonderful range of other superb models that are always worth admiring.
October 31, 2013 at 1:03 pm #28947This is a very nice link, Master Barliman. And I agree with you totally.
In my case too late. I have built the building already for myself . . .October 31, 2013 at 2:10 pm #28948Turambar wrote:This is a very nice link, Master Barliman. And I agree with you totally.

Will you show us some of it ?I agree. This project can be spectacular :o:o:o
October 31, 2013 at 5:07 pm #28951This I cannot comment. I just know that Master Turambar has been very busy with an Esgaroth-idea for quite a while. He’s very much focused on it, as far as I know.
