Sorry, it is a link from my favourite site- german in this case- but it shows you three videos of “B-roles”, non used scenes for DOS.
Take it as an addition to the 13 th production video . . .http://www.herr-der-ringe-film.de/v3/de/news/tolkienfilme/news_112150.php
December 5, 2013 at 3:43 pm #29281Next week, near my town, the Hobbit will be released one day before on 10th December with the first movie uncut first đŸ˜† (Marathon «Hobbit» Part 1 & 2 )
December 5, 2013 at 3:46 pm #29282Remember to take some sandwiches with you.
December 7, 2013 at 2:36 pm #29346There is a review of the DOS here which makes interesting reading . There is also an opportunity to read some ‘spoilers’ and you are given fair warning and a couple of opportunities not to scroll any further, but I did anyway , but then stopped at this point before reading too much
I think the main thought by the reviewer is that THIS is the film that will split the two camps of ‘Fandom’ and ‘movie-buff’ with its deviations from The Book.
December 7, 2013 at 3:13 pm #29349Yes, I’ve already spotted a few things in various media images that demonstrate the story is going to take a rather different route to the way JRRT imagined it….
December 10, 2013 at 9:49 am #29377Yes. Release your mind. Enjoy the movie. Do not compare with the book because The desolation of Smaug is VERY different from the book……
December 10, 2013 at 4:50 pm #29379Well, as for me I have no high hopes at all for that second part, and my expectations are even less after having watched the first part. Maybe it would have been better and more honest by PJ to put it clear in all that campaigning and promoting, that the films are just merely “based” (sic !) on J.R.R. Tolkien’s “the Hobbit”. That would have been more honest, I think.
December 10, 2013 at 5:01 pm #29380The same could be said for any movie derived from a book. Film directors/producers aren’t noted for their devotion to literary accuracy.
I made the decision as soon as I started seeing images from these films that I would look upon them as fantasy adventure movies, and find that when I view them that way I can enjoy them. Consequently I tend to disengage my higher brain function when I watch them. That way I can just enjoy them for what they are – great fun.
December 10, 2013 at 5:39 pm #29381Thank you very much for this advice indeed, Master Barliman. So while watching that second part I’ll try to take your point of view. – Well, before doing that I might call in to the Prancing Pony again just to ask if some XXX-scrumpy-to go is offered there.
December 10, 2013 at 5:42 pm #29382Couldn’t hurt.
December 11, 2013 at 9:04 am #29385To me, it is great entertainment and I’m always happy to see ME in “real”, no matter the story telling.
December 11, 2013 at 5:16 pm #29391I also just saw the movie and it’s a very good Entertainment : mostly the end with Smaug : it’s exceptional. Otherwise, a little disappointed with the beginning where the adventure is a bit summary and also by Beorn.
December 11, 2013 at 5:56 pm #29396I’m going to see movie tomorrow…. so till than.. . my fingers will not typing any comment !
December 11, 2013 at 8:06 pm #29400I am going in two days.
December 11, 2013 at 8:10 pm #29401And I’m going next Monday (Hobbit doesn’t open here till the weekend).
December 12, 2013 at 7:14 am #29404Saw the movie yesterday. As Mistress sevlag pointed out. Great entertainment for sure !
I prefer not to talk about parts I liked or not as some fellows here did not see the movie yet.December 12, 2013 at 10:42 am #29406. . .this is the right decision. Thank you for that!
As far as I’ll see the movie to be celebrate at the end of my business year on friday 20th.
And this is a lot of time, still.December 12, 2013 at 12:09 pm #29407I will be seeing it this weekend for sure.
December 14, 2013 at 8:06 pm #29425Saw it this afternoon… the movie is great… as an heroic fantasy movie and as such I spent a great time.
as for the respect of the book this is a pure abomination… I could not have imagined so much “rewriting” could be allowed…. but it was…
December 14, 2013 at 8:14 pm #29428I saw it two days ago.. and it is fantastic movie entertainment… even with this excursions to other parts of the book and PJ imagination … movie is great interpretation on modern view on Tolkien legacy.. spiced with modern technology
Any way I should go again today in the cinema. Cinema is located just 3 minutes walk from my house. But I fell asleep this afternoon hoummmm
Great indeed… from tomorrow movie goes on the road again… in our city plays only 3 days… the damnation of the small town !
