December 23, 2013 at 9:15 pm #29516Before I could be a golden barkeeper I’d need to have some gold….
December 27, 2013 at 1:31 am #29541Well, under that Christmas tree there was- beneath many other presents- THE ultimate present:
The book: The Desolation of Smaug: Chronicles: art and design.
Reading – and watching- this book very carefully I came to the oppinion, that the Extended Version
must be about ONE HOUR longer . . .Still- I haven´t seen Master Thrain in Dol Guldur, and I remember well it was about the first trailer of “An unexpected journey” where he appeares . . .
December 27, 2013 at 9:34 am #29542There are many “holes” in the movie that could be developed in an extended version (Yes!, it seems incredible after doing three films one book! …..)
For example, in the Desolation of Smaug, I think you might see in the extended version the vision of white deer in the Black Forest, Gandalf-Thrain, the meeting, more images of the company with Beorn, riddles contest between Bilbo-Smaug, etc …P.D. Does everyone has seen the movie? Are the spoilers over? ……
December 30, 2013 at 10:53 pm #29549We can´t wait for those you haven´t watched the film still . . . (though it is the Tree who doesn´t find the right direction to the next cinema . . . )
As far as I can remember there was this Bolg-creature introduced somewhere in 2012. For example inside the official Hobbit calendar.
Unfortunately I can´t remember to see this character in the movie . . .
( no- they don´t sell scrumpy inside the movie theater here where I live, which could explain many things . . . )[imgz url=http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/32_bolg01.jpg]http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/thumbs/32_bolg01.jpg[/imgz]
December 31, 2013 at 7:46 am #29550You’re right – I don’t remember seeing him in either film either (being an Orc with a beard makes him quite memorable – is it a Dwarf scalp and beard?). The background looks like Dol Guldur.
December 31, 2013 at 3:00 pm #29552mmhh with the beard scalp we did not see him indeed, not in the “theater” version at least.
but if you consider the metal plates on the head, and remove some lighting, it looks a bit like the Bolg of the movie…December 31, 2013 at 5:03 pm #29554Maybe they put into the movie one ugly “Glob” instead of Bolg…. this is the “Golden dwarf” syndrome  hm… in the running crowd, maybe we do not rightly noticed him…. hm… (again)
January 4, 2014 at 3:41 pm #29587He is in the movie, but he doesn’t look like this. He is the one that Azog sends after the dwarves.
As for the movie, it was entertaining. Too much action for my taste, but it was fun to watch.
January 5, 2014 at 12:47 am #29594some of the best critics I heard about the movie (and I admit they are right) is that the Dragon, Smaug, is very well done and rendered.
The motion capture of Benedict Cumberbach in the role of Smaug could not have been better. really a great dragon, see this link http://screencrush.com/benedict-cumberbatch-the-hobbit-smaug-motion-capture/(as a side note, I saw leak pictures of an Annatar image of Sauron… ( http://lilywight.com/2012/11/21/benedict-cumberbatch-is-sauron/) maybe in the third movie or extended version of second? that would be odd to have Annatar in… the Hobbit!
January 5, 2014 at 8:28 am #29595Which of these images was “leaked”? I’m only relying on my memory, but they look like the Annatar images from the LOTR DVD extras.
January 5, 2014 at 5:59 pm #29596ah? well maybe I had not seen the Annatar in the dvd extras then, highly possible
January 9, 2014 at 2:41 pm #29611ok then, I have seen the movie for the second time.
And there was a lot I haven´t seen watching it the first time.
AND: I can tell you: you have exact three seconds!
Three seconds to left the cinema before Master Sheeran starts to sing . . . Very diffucult indeed- but not impossible!!!!!
January 9, 2014 at 2:45 pm #29612Must involve a sprint! I’m not sure I’m quick enough these days.
January 9, 2014 at 10:15 pm #29616I also saw today movie for a second time… and I agree with master archer… I looked at the film without much “The Hobbit euphoria” and looks much better to me. Many interesting details is possible to see… conversation between characters formed me better story for keeping whole movie in my memory… but I’m still shocked by the appearance of a golden dwarf….
About end credit song….. hm…. I’ve stuck in the center of the row and I did not managed to get away for 3 seconds….
