Fili and Kili
These guys don´t convince me…..
July 13, 2011 at 9:03 am #18547They look more human than I do…and a bit of elvish also…not convinced at all. But maybe seing them moving will change the feeling.
July 13, 2011 at 10:31 am #18550Oh my goodness … did you realize those “weapons”? – absolutely idiotic, they seem to be based on ideas of some ‘fantasy-companies’ (plural !) producing very bad figures …
I hope the pics Master Erchamion kindly provides do not have anything to do with the Dwarves appearing in the movie … alasJuly 13, 2011 at 10:37 am #18551. . . Master Del Toro´s influence is remarkable.

July 13, 2011 at 12:04 pm #18554What’s happened to the influence of Richard Taylor, Alan Lee and John Howe? These weapons are ridiculous! But Master Turambar is right – this is Del Toro’s doing. Peter Jackson intimated in an interview recently that some of Del Toro’s influnece would still show through in the final films (I assume that a return of some sort had to be realised from the money invested in design in DT’s time). Still, we should count ourselves lucky – Del Toro seemingly wanted to make the entire movie a sort of Gothic steam-punk experience…
July 13, 2011 at 12:25 pm #18555So I’d better keep my eyes closed on such brainless ideas about the outward appearance of the Dwarves, as it is about to spoil my imagination of Tolkien’s Dwarves in the Hobbit already … what a mess … unbelievably ridiculous that is … full stop
July 13, 2011 at 6:51 pm #18557Thanks for the pics erch.
I agree with you Master Tree, they should at least have stocky builds, full beards, and appropriate weapons (for Dwarves).

Bofur, Bombur and Bifur…. or Fat Viking ( look like Obelix )… Russian miner and whaler with a harpoon….
I really hope that all other dwarves activities will appear in those films much closer to the description in Hobbit…
….now when I see that there will be no purple, green, blue and other hoods….
July 14, 2011 at 8:20 am #18568Wow! These dwarves are funny looking. 😆
They are kinda interesting too, in a weird way.
July 14, 2011 at 9:12 am #18570Now it is also me, wondering a bit concerning the dwarven-design.
I hope the elvish-design won´t surprise us as well . . .[imgz url=http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/32_hell-boy-2-elf1.jpg]http://mmp.faerylands.eu/uploads/thumbs/32_hell-boy-2-elf1.jpg[/imgz]
July 14, 2011 at 10:08 am #18572Ahhhhhh … that one has just returned from Master Erchamion’s tomb, I’m sure …
July 14, 2011 at 11:16 am #18574Well, he seems to me pretty good looking………
July 14, 2011 at 5:51 pm #18583I kinda like that the younger Dwarves don’t have beards yet. It’s a useful visual shorthand.
I’d say once you’ve shot them as short, and note the odd dimensions of the outfits, they’ll all look plenty stocky.
I’d also suggest that these dwarves won’t look like this until Rivendell, maybe not until Erebor. They’ll all be wearing their hoods and whatnot when we see them first.
July 15, 2011 at 12:48 am #18588young fili or kili without beard can be fine… if he was not THAT slim of face and body… like an elf…
too slim…
July 15, 2011 at 3:17 pm #18590Some photos I’ve seen of the actor suggests he’s had to put on weight for the role.
And squish the visual down a bit and he’ll look a lot chunkier.

July 15, 2011 at 4:28 pm #18593i hope you’ll put a recap with ALL the dwarves once the pics are all released… I think we still miss Thorin?
