Static, Master Mornedhel? No. Not more than other releases.
I agree to Master Thingol: the best orc since the last ten years.
Though the orc in this case seems to be a Troll. Obviously. As master Erchamion pointed out.
(oh yes- the old angmar range. Those were the best Orcs and Trolls ever. )
Congrats by the way for this suggestion! I think I have to spend coiny things . . .February 23, 2013 at 7:32 am #27063ddaines wrote:Was his ‘victim’ the next winning suggestion or was that not suggested? That may explain the pose being slightly less dramatic than the Angus McB illustration if there is no ‘victim’.Nice Orc or Troll, no matter the race
“King Ostoher in fighting pose” is october 2012 winning suggestion. so, next release will come in front of Rogrog.February 23, 2013 at 7:34 am #27064By the way, Barliman, I feel it’s time for my 2nd breakfast.
I will have go for these “croissants” on the bar.February 23, 2013 at 7:53 am #27065ddaines wrote:Was his ‘victim’ the next winning suggestion or was that not suggested? While you’re all here, there are a few bar tabs that need settling……
February 23, 2013 at 9:02 am #27066well indeed he looks like an troll since HE IS A TROLL (olog-hai)… one of the few named olog-hai… he was indeed a warlord of angmar orcs but was himself a troll… (from the MERP extendend universe)
see this link http://merp.wikia.com/wiki/Rogrog
February 23, 2013 at 10:03 am #27067… I’m not here … huoomm …
February 23, 2013 at 10:47 am #27068OK, then I won’t get you a drink.
February 23, 2013 at 11:43 am #27069Croissants? I prefer “pain au chocolat” !
Pay?! I pay everything Master Barliman . . . I receive my tax-information. It seems that I pay everything generally . . .
February 23, 2013 at 12:13 pm #27070People who mention taxmen in my establishment have to put a coin in the swear-box on the bar!
February 23, 2013 at 7:01 pm #27071I think this is where the new figure comes from:

Now, what I’m wondering is, since we didn’t see them in the first movie, will there be a flashback sequence in the second film to show these fellows fighting Smaug, or are they a GW invention? The designs aren’t “fantastic” enough to be GW’s work, so I suspect they’re Weta designs. Interesting….
February 24, 2013 at 11:13 am #27081Huoommm … I clearly dislike them figures … rhuûomm … seems that the “****” company intends to sell army-sets of the “Battle of the five armies” beforehand … huooommm.. not even 12th-14th century Russians they are and once again seem to lack in correct human proportions, not to mention that fantasy-armour … rhûom … methinks
February 24, 2013 at 11:22 am #27082huômmrhuom … and, yes, Master Jdbrown55, that’s exactly the origin of Rogrog and Ostoher … huom … but the source was reveiled when the suggestions were placed on the Mithril-thread … as far as I know … or remember …. or … huom? …
… er, Master Barliman, I’m back here again … so, if you wouldn’t mind, I’ll have one of that … rhuom … you know what … please … huoomm …February 24, 2013 at 11:48 am #27083Indeed, Master Theobald, I myself put the picture on the suggestion post. The pose of the figure finally result is quite similar to the picture of Mr. Angus McBride. I love it
February 24, 2013 at 1:14 pm #27084huoommm … yes … Angus McBride … perfect in his skills of drawing, painting and historical research … hûû^^oooôommm … our dear barkeep knew him better than us, Master Erchamion … huooommm … so, why not raise a bowl on him today? … I, most willingly, would like to pay for that all … rhûom … in case Master Barliman still accepts those rather virtual coiny-things … huomm … cheers …
February 24, 2013 at 1:21 pm #27085Virtual coiny things for virtual beer seems a fair transaction, Master Tree.
February 24, 2013 at 1:27 pm #27086… alas … I forgot to comment on what we could see of Rogrog so far … rhuom … he’s perfect, meseems … huom … very close in pose and details to Master McBride’s concept … mind the skulls at the belt and other details, the pose of the last, deathly strike at the King Ostoher with such a crude weapon … huommm … so I wondered about the discussion here about the pose, if it’s static or dynamic … rhûom … I didn’t get the drift about that … huommm … anyway, I’ve been talkative enough for today …
February 24, 2013 at 1:41 pm #27087… er, I just understood what I read … huoomm … you really said “fair transaction”, Master Barliman? … huom … nothing to gain some profit from? … huommm … yes, indeed, though this place is full of noises, it’s a brave new world that has such people in it, in case I got Miranda right … huoommm ….

As I said many times before…. I do not like those figures…
February 25, 2013 at 8:51 am #27096I don’t like some of them either – indeed, I don’t like these Dale types – but I have to respect the talent of some of the GW figure sculptors (though not the company’s demented visualisers!). I don’t think it’s possible to tar all GW figures with the same brush (as we say here in Bree), any more than it’s possible to claim that every Mithril figure is perfect. There are naff GW figures, and there are also naff Mithril figures. There are also excellent GW figures and excellent Mithrils. Everyone has their good days and bad days.
