March 9, 2013 at 6:00 pm #27307huoommm … ah, Master Cameosis, thank you very much … huom … so you know about some wyrd … huom … the charm worked well, indeed, Master Cameosis … huom … though I know a better one … huoooommm … er, ahem … “three more for the three of us” … rhuom … that’s what we Ents call a triple-three …. hooommm … cheers …
March 11, 2013 at 10:27 pm #27314Very quiet those days despite the return of snow and blizzard … even the man in the dark is not in his corner.
A pint of cider please Master BarlimanMarch 11, 2013 at 10:34 pm #27315Hang on while I find an ice-pick to get the taps working…
March 12, 2013 at 7:14 am #27316Hi everyone,
Back downstairs from my attic. What ? My 2nd breakfast is gone ? I thought I’d left a bit of it….
Please master Barliman, no matter its cost, bring me another warm 3rd breakfast then.Kschink.
March 12, 2013 at 10:18 pm #27317huoommm … Master Milo, the first problem is that you took your second breakfast upstairs and ate it up … rhuomm … second problem is that you ordered a third warm-one … huoomm … Master Barliman is still trying to get the taps working after he found his ice-pick … huoommm … hard work that is indeed … rhuoommm … and me, I’m just trying to keep the hearth a bit burning for comforting you … gruoommm … and you stay all day at the attick to where the warmth climbs up to … huom … such are Hobbits … huomm …
March 13, 2013 at 6:51 am #27318😆
You are right about my 2nd breakfast yesterday, I remember now I left remaining upstairs…
March 13, 2013 at 7:15 am #27319Nob will have eaten it by now. I’ll get you another as soon as the kitchen staff have struggled out of bed – it’s another frosty morning here in Bree, the sort of day when it’s doubly hard to get up and face the day.
March 13, 2013 at 9:54 am #27320Good morning Master Barliman
A full breakfast please, as only in Bree you can cook them. I endure the snow to come at your Inn today (20 cm/8 inches in one night).March 13, 2013 at 12:47 pm #27325huooommm … mind please that it’s winter still, gentlemen … huomm … as far as I know it will be spring about next week … homrhûom … more or less … huom … already the eye of heaven has regained some of its power … just be patient … hooomm
March 13, 2013 at 1:03 pm #27326Well you’re right as ever, Master Tree, but Spring officially starts in one week (March 20). The Spring flowers have already started to appear in my garden, but most of them look as if they wish they hadn’t!
March 13, 2013 at 3:36 pm #27329huoommm … about next week I dared to say, Master Barliman, which is next week indeed … huom … well, then be lucky as you obviously can see those spring flowers … huoomm … those I know around here and which also appeared some time ago will have to try to blossom and bloom again next week, I’m afraid … huom … at the moment they still keep well-hidden again below some layers of frosty-icy-white-coloured-snowy thing … which is quite cold, by the way … huomm … can you not keep up your patience for one more week, please? … just imagine me, bare roots, no leaves, frozen bark … alas … you know … huom
March 13, 2013 at 3:48 pm #27330Huuommm … sorry, Master Barliman … I forgot to tell you that spring has no date to officially start at … rhuom … as each year and month might be slightly different from the ones before … huom … see, you might compare that with the releases of Mithril-figures … huoomm … no one knows when, or what it will be like, or even what might be the costs that will have to be considered … huom … isn’t it that what keeps life interesting? … huom …
March 13, 2013 at 4:03 pm #27331Actually, Master Tree, though I dislike disagreeing with a Tree about growing seasons, there is indeed an official date for Spring to begin each year – the Vernal (or Spring) Equinox, which is on 20 March here in the Northern Hemisphere at the moment. All the seasons begin between 20 and 23 of their respective start months, but Spring is the most settled of them – I think it’s been 20 March for most, if not all, of my life. Certainly it began on 20 March when I learned about the equinoxes/solstices at school numerous decades ago.
March 13, 2013 at 5:19 pm #27332huoommm … I also learnt a bit and do know about that, Master Barkeep … huom … next Wednesday that is … rhuom … I just wondered if nature is able to hurry up a bit within a week … huom … never mind disagreeing an end, sometimes … rhûom …
March 13, 2013 at 5:30 pm #27333Sorry, Master Tree, I only bothered to explain it because your previous note commented that “spring has no date to officially start on”. So my excuse is that you confused me by saying something that you didn’t actually mean…
March 14, 2013 at 3:53 pm #27335Sorry gentlemen but the spring is the only will of Yavanna (It was she who requested the creation of the Ents, as she feared for the safety of the trees once her husband had created the Dwarves, do you remember Master Theobald?)
March 14, 2013 at 7:48 pm #27336mmhh, it was YaVanna actually
March 14, 2013 at 9:49 pm #27337correction done
March 15, 2013 at 6:49 pm #27338Hello Mornedhel, and other Masters here in the Pony! Yes, I have been away for a little time from my dark corner. After travelling across stretches of snow covered wilderness I am back to the warmth of the fireplace and a good mug of ale. Nob? Nob? Be a good lad and bring me my pipe!!
