I bought a set of needles for models in Czechoslovakia in 1989. Made of russian steel. All of them are still strong and sharp….

My most recent set were cheap Chinese steel, and suffered the consequences. There’s no point to them any more (a Bree pun).

finally received my parcel! at last… but I am perplex, it seems to me (though it is hard to notice it…) that the figurine scale is slighly… just slightly smaller than what mithril used to be….or is it the sculpting art… but the faces for example seems… smaller especially Thranduil.

…. strange Gildor… I was received e-mail on my request with Michael’s confirmation, that parcel will not leave Ireland before 1st of July and somebody sent me package by mistake on 21st this month. Today before noon parcel was in my house…. it was less then 48 hours on their way to Croatia…. and no custom taxes, no custom procedure… :) This is what I call “FAST Delivery service”…. :D

… I’ve also noticed that the figures are slightly decreased…. they are trying to save a little on the weight of metal…. Pity. Otherwise, when I received a vignette in my hands, I realized how great it is… magnificent idea…

So will all future Mithril releases be in this diminished scale, do you think?

                                      Cheers Tom ! :D

I sincerely hope not. It is also very easy to see the big difference in the weight of the metal. These figures seems are made of light metal for soldering…. Elves are certainly a little squeezed. In particular, these figures on chairs ! But anyway… great figures indeed…

well if they want to make economy on metal, they’d better not include the “metal spurs” inside the package.. there is almost as much metal spurs in this package as “figurines” themselves… quite a loss of metal…

the metal used seems to be the same used by Chris for the Phaeton releases, it does seem lighter and more detailed… maybe its the fat it is not undercoated but I feel there is a difference…
