Nice figure indeed. But I was thinking that Gimli (or Gimly) finished in a different way… on his end…. or it is a secret …. Perhaps it is indeed in the north before he sailed with Legolas encountered snow troll and got a handful in the nose… !

It is not Gimli! It cames from the upcoming videogame War in the North, the Gimli-looking Dwarf is a brand new hero the have created for the game. Check one of the trailers.

Animation of this game is perfect. It is a pity that I have no more time to play something like that. In fact I do not even remember when I was last time played a PC game. I think before 5 or 6 years…. or more…

when I say nonsense it is not in an artistic way, this piece is wonderful… it is a nonsense in term of background and respect of the work… the fate of Gimli is well known and it has nothing to do with trolls but I am not sure this sculpture will be available for a very long time … like Thomarillion…

and well… give me something refreshing i am not in a good mood tonight master Barliman… wrote to the man, wrote to Michael, wrote to some people… fed up with all this bu****it mithril is doing with my ideas…

No, Master Elf. It’s not supposed to be Gimli, but a Dwarven Champion of Erebor (since Gimli came from erebor too, that’s why they both wear the same kind of armour).

@ all: i apologize for the confusion — it’s not (officially) gimli, and the snow troll doesn’t have a name, either — sideshow / weta is doing everything according to the license they have acquired.

just me “rewriting” the story to fit my preferences, is all (and spicing up the background for this wonderful diorama) — if in the future you read a post of mine and it’s “non-canonical,” it’s made up by me — unless i link to another reference.

Now to something completly different Master Gildor please…
Today I spoke to Master Thingol on FB and he had a great idea. I don’t know if it would be possible, but it’s worth to ask.
would you be able to implement a live chat here on MMP? As you might know I’m that good with programs and PC’s that I’m just able to use it as a advanced typewriter and that’s about it. Hence the question. As far as it concerns you I know you are very versatile in this area as we can see on a daily basis here on MMP.
