Ah- good to be back, and good to recognize that nothing really important was missing . . .
Thank you Master Theobald and Master Thingol ( in alphabetical order) for not missing my birthday. And yes: Master Gavin has got the same date.
Quelle surprise, nes pas ?!
For you and of course all the others:
A ROUND OF YOUR BEST ALE, MASTER BARLIMAN !
Thought I have seen you on this famous spanish island Master Barliman, but I must mistook you . . . so many british people around there . . .PS: I will NEVER EVER consume Gin with Tonic water!
September 25, 2011 at 4:06 pm #20370Very wise too. It shouldn’t be drunk at all. Horrid stuff. And no, I was up in the north of Middle-earth, not the south, so it can’t have been me (especially if he was drinking gin and tonic). But welcome back!
September 25, 2011 at 5:50 pm #20375Huoommm … welcome back, Master Turambar, there wasn’t any problem around here in the Pony … huoomm … all have been on holiday, meseems … so I had a nice job here … rhuommm … and as for that “horrid stuff” as our Master Barkeep likes to call it, you just leave the slice of lemon … rhuomm … or better order a pint of Deuchars IPA … rhuomm ..
September 25, 2011 at 6:46 pm #20377Welcome bcak master Turambar and happy birthday very late to you and Gavin. Thanks for the drink, I agree Gin is not to be drunk, as I tried once, back in eighties, cannot even smell it since !
Cheers !September 25, 2011 at 8:19 pm #20379Milo wrote:Welcome bcak master Turambar and happy birthday very late to you and Gavin. Thanks for the drink, I agree Gin is not to be drunk, as I tried once, back in eighties, cannot even smell it since !
Cheers !Nowt wrong with a drop o’ Mother’s Ruin, with a splash of tonic (to keep malaria at bay ) Master Milo.
September 26, 2011 at 6:03 am #20384Master Barliman, can you please offer breakfast to everyone who’s hungry this morning ?
This to celebrate the fact that I now only miss 1 OOP mithril !
Bon appétit !
September 26, 2011 at 6:55 am #20385But which one?
September 26, 2011 at 8:01 am #20391I’m hungry….. so on Milo’s account…. ham steak, medium rare, taken from camels bred in the far Harad… it must be expensive hmmm ! …. and lots of baked potatoes…
September 26, 2011 at 8:50 am #20392So how’s your cholesterol level, Master Thingol? Not too good I suspect….
September 26, 2011 at 9:35 am #20393It is actually good. Within the limits below the allowed minimum. I ordered it just because it sounds very good. And eating of this is very rarely here in my country… It is difficult to catch the optimal camel…. those animals constantly running around through the desert, they are resilient, and their meat has not lot of cholesterol….. so it must be expensive…
September 26, 2011 at 9:44 am #20394Hmmmm. But how am I to get ham from a camel? – unless it was part of the baggage it was carrying. Which is unlikely in the countries where you find camels these days.
September 28, 2011 at 8:23 pm #20446oh, Danny boy,
the pipes, the pipes are calling
from glen to glen, and down the mountain side
the summer’s gone, and all roses falling
’tis you, ’tis you must go and I must bide.
But come ye back when summer’s in the meadow
Or when the valley’s hushed and white with snow
‘Tis I’ll be there in sunshine or in shadow
Oh, Danny boy, oh Danny boy, I love you so!
And when ye come, and all the flow’rs are dying
If I am dead, as dead I well may be
Ye’ll come and find the place where I am lying
And kneel and say an Ave there for me.
(…)September 28, 2011 at 9:17 pm #20448I think Master Turambar has had a little too much of the amber nectar and started speaking in tongues… Still, it’s a nice way to break the longstanding silence in this establishment. You might as well haver another drink, since I don’t think it can do you any more harm.
September 30, 2011 at 3:10 pm #20479Well, what do you think of this month’s Fellowship voting? 24 votes? Do I detect a touch of apathy?

September 30, 2011 at 4:49 pm #20481That’s what worries me…
September 30, 2011 at 4:56 pm #20482I have not placed my order for HD2 yet. I will be getting 3 sets.
September 30, 2011 at 5:02 pm #20484well I must admit that all in all, the news provided by Michael are good ones, not only in terms of pricing but mostly in terms of marketing and promotion in the US!!
that’s a beginning… I just asked if there was an offer to preorder the WHOLE set… as I saw bundles for Packs of 3… but there should be one for ordering the full set in single…
September 30, 2011 at 5:52 pm #20485Thank you to all who supported The Junast of Far Harad!
September 30, 2011 at 7:04 pm #20486At the current prices I’m not sure I’ll be buying any HD2 at all. Shame, but there are greater priorities in life for the pittance I earn. Like eating.
And I notice that good old Mithril have, unsurprisingly, cocked things up on their website, calling both Gamling’s Rally and Death to the Strawheads “Helm’s Deep 1”. Their one communal brain cell must still be on holiday.
