indeed the base of the Council was heavier but the design… simplier too
anyway
Ladies, Gentlemen… I’d like to offer a drink to everybody and share some new work of art with you… but I am but a middleman here… Please Thingol could you make the announcement yourself?
I let you provide the address too
A great work is about to be revealed to you all!
After the “vernissage”
I will include it officially on the Main site page but for the time being please, Thingol… You have an announcement to make I think
Ok Master Gildor…
!!!!!
This was just one small idea that has long been smoldering in my head. I hope you will like.
This is a “catalog” or booklet with the most beautiful photographs from “grandma’s garden”…
With included:
1. Numbering of figures with the name ( Mithril and Phaeton Design )
2. Name of the sculptor
3. Quotations from Tolkien’s books and poems
4. Locations in the gardenwhere tha photographs were taken
and I hope you will enjoy in this little trip through the garden in the middle of my earth
Here is the link…

Master Barliman… please I would like to pay a drink for all in the pony today…
CheersMarch 30, 2012 at 6:26 am #23635Wonderful, Master Thingol. Nicely painted, nicely imagined, nicely composed, nicely photographed, and a very nice garden too! The realism of the scenes almost makes me think I’m actually there.
March 30, 2012 at 6:53 am #23636WOW, Thingol!!! WOW!!!!!
March 30, 2012 at 8:18 am #23638Oh yes, my friend. As I said it to you hundred times before: this is the best I have seen!
An absolutely treasure!
This is absolutely brilliant and worth for priniting!
March 30, 2012 at 9:30 am #23639The cleverest parts are the grouping of figures that look as if they belong with each other, composing them in scenes that match their poses so exactly, concealing their bases, and taking the photographs from a 32mm-height perspective. Collectively that’s what makes them look so real. At the moment I simply can’t stop looking at them! (Note to self: get on with some work…)
March 30, 2012 at 9:52 am #23640I could never find the words in English that could make justice to that job, Master Thingol. So talented! I have to catch my breath.
March 30, 2012 at 10:37 am #23643Oh la vache !!!!!!!!!!!!!! 😆
:cool::cool::cool::cool:
Nino, this is a total pleasure to have a look at your work that way. Any chance to obtain a PDF file at home ? Bravo et merci

“la vache”… j’aime bien cette expression… Le français est très drôle quelquefois…
I agree with Milo— It will be possible to get it in PDF? it’s sooo great this book for reading it – I will pay for it if it was a printed version. Nuff’ said.

As I said: It is worth printing . . .March 30, 2012 at 2:36 pm #23653I would not like to be pessmistic or bring bad mood but printing this work represents some risks
Considering that publishing such a work in paper would require … publishing; it would involve money indeed, if it is done by professionals they would never do it unless they get the guarantee the Content has no copyright issue… and I see Hundreds of copyright issue in this masterful works
the quotes are from JRRT and are forbidden to be reproduced. I think mithril would not be a problem about releasing pics of their figurines and since it is Thingol work I am certain he would agree too… but the problem is the big quotes of Tolkien texts… both LOTR and Hobbit covered by MEE but also Silmarillion covered by Tolkien Estate and you are all well aware about how much Tolkien Estate can be Lethal and fearsome to ANY who try to publish (even for free!!) anything bearing the writings of the author…
well sorry for being that pessmistic but that’s the sad truth…
Having it in pdf is a good solution! printing it on paper should remain the responsability of anyone with his own publication/edition methods… not a centralized creation of real booksI don’t know what Thingol thinks about it but that’s just my point of view
March 30, 2012 at 3:33 pm #23654HUUUUOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMM … rhuomhûmhOOOoommm … !!! …
ahh, Master Thingol, you presented a real marvel … in each and every respect it’s absolutely amazing and stunning … huom …
so now we have another masterpiece presented … rhuoomm … thank you so very much for that … I just can absolutely share Master Barlimman’s comment … huoommm … and then, there are trees in the book as well … simply wonderful, Master Thingol … hooommtidomdarhôm … kloppediklopp …March 30, 2012 at 3:43 pm #23655huomm … as for another matter, I’m afraid that our dear Master Gildor is completely right pointing out the impossibility of having that marvel being printed … huoomm … unfortunately … huom … but yes, pdf-files is the only solution I can think of … rhuom … see, that’s exactly what Master Zoetrop did with his latest version of his catalogue … huom …
March 30, 2012 at 7:17 pm #23658This is a marvellous work of art Nino, presentation and composition look to be perfect and all the ‘elements’ seem to tie in just right.
March 31, 2012 at 12:23 am #23661Well – I really know that copyright will make imposible to get this in printed form – I was only pointing that its great quality makes me buy it if it would be on stores – Not trying to start a real move on make a printing of it. Sorry for the disturb.
March 31, 2012 at 7:08 am #23665Hi Barliman !
I woke up early this morning and went for a long walk througtout the hill around Bree. That was great pleasure but now I’m hungry and very thirsty.
Please, bring me a very big breakfast and some clear water for my thirst…with 2 pints of good ale of course.
kshink…
March 31, 2012 at 7:30 am #23666Good morning dear friends…. what could or what should I say…. except
THANKS FOR ALL YOURS GREAT WORDS posted here…
first of all I did not actually expected so much positive reaction but I’m more than happy with my little creation…
March 31, 2012 at 7:38 am #23667Second of all…. in next post…
About PDF I could send it to everyone who wants…. no problem it all. Resolution of those pictures in original are set so they could be printed as A3 format if somebody of you want it.
I could also send to all of you JPEG pictures separately in 3500 x 4500 resolution so you could print every picture in format you choose….
there are no obstacles …. for me, this is my gift to our collectors love shared through our hobby.
This second solution is ever better…. !

Actually…I never had any intention to print and distribute to the wide range of people…
My intention was to put it here and to be publicly available only to us, the members of this forum….
And… one printed booklet I will send to Chris Tubb… I think he deserves it
but not yet I have plan to extend booklet with new pages till the second part of the year, and booklet on this link will be also updated… this is no final version… and it will not be final….
About copy-rights…. I could translate all quotes on Croatian…
I’m not sure that anybody from ME or TE will try to translate on english those words….
and you guys… you could learn few words of croatian language… kidding !!!!
