“Hi Ignacio,, Im emailing you to let you know that we are out of stock of some of the figures you ordered which means they will have to be re-casted. This could take a week or two so im sorry about this delay. Im hoping you wont have to wait too long and thank You for the understanding. Joan”
The funny thing is that on the day I made the order there were so many units in stock of the ALL figures that I ordered (more than 20 on average). Is the stock of the web updated? Can we trust in this information? The truth is that this gives distrust to me in relation to the figures that we have not yet bought and that are missing for the collection :rolleyes:Out of interest which figures were they? I tend to use the ‘remaining stock’ numbers to prioritise filling in gaps.
March 24, 2017 at 4:39 pm #35803Ditto. It’s worrying.
March 24, 2017 at 7:11 pm #35804Well, they weren´t many references in fact. Specifically: MZ630, MS631 and MS626 from GF; 2016 Lord of the Rings ‘DunlendingT High-chief’ Christmas figure (Version Antique Finish); And a very common MC34, MC7 and MM451 that I will use for conversions.
I don´t know which of those are the ones that needed to be re-casted…… :rolleyes:March 24, 2017 at 10:35 pm #35805huoom … it would be interesting to know more details about the further development when you can provide them … rhuôm … I think re-casts could be made of those figures in the MC-series … hom
March 25, 2017 at 12:14 am #35806I have also received similar emails from Mithril on my orders in the past. However, the ones they said needed to be recast were those of the m-series such as Helm’s Deep and Mordor’s Army. There was an earlier MS figure that I ordered and they also recast to send to me in my next order but I can’t remember which one as it was back in the Christmas sale. I do know that MS608 was shown as sold out for a long time then I visited the site and there were around 20 showing as available and I ordered one. I imagine they ran another casting of them. Is that not something they do? Recast sold out figures every so often?
March 25, 2017 at 8:49 am #35807I imagine other people will have a better idea than I, but I always thought that once a Mithril figure was gone then that was it – it was gone for ever. Certainly that seems to be the case with their older ranges. Otherwise why go to the trouble of inviting comments a few months ago regarding which ones people wanted to see stay in production?
March 25, 2017 at 11:47 am #35808Regardless of whether a worn-out figure should or should not be re-cast (I understood this as Master Barliman, otherwise, why would they get a discount by liquidation?), The point is that when I placed the order, None of the figures I requested was low in stock. In fact, each of them had more than 20 units. I don´t think it happened that last 14 days were sold more than 20 units of the same figure (I hope so!). The issue is whether or not we can trust the number of figures in stock that appears on the web.
March 28, 2017 at 5:12 am #35810Hello Pony patrons! I believe that many of the comments above are correct as far as producing new figures. The marketing has never been great, and it would be nice if they said “temporarily Sold Out,” or “”please check back soon for availability.”
I know that MX figures are not reproduced once sold out. Anything else might be. But broken masters, or those damaged by time and wear probably keep several older figures from being re-cast. Lack of demand for many older figures might as well.
But . . . we can only get 41 votes for a monthly figure. So its hard for me to fault PA/Mithril now for not putting a lot of resources into this line. The sad thing is that they could have done so much more, in my opinion, had they marketed effectively.
Perhaps they were afraid of the major licensee’s of Tolkien’s works in the last decade, and wanted to stay below the radar?
In any case, if we are going to ponder these weighty things, Barli, we all need a drink! here’s a few coiny-things!
March 28, 2017 at 6:45 am #35811Agree with everything you’ve said, Master Twrich – especially the last bit about having a drink. It awlways seems to me rather as if Lars treats the Mithril line as little more than a hobby.
March 28, 2017 at 6:35 pm #35812Agree with all the above! Mithril is the write off for PA, a hobby of Lars as Master Barliman said. Well, I guess that needs a BIG drink!
March 28, 2017 at 7:04 pm #35813My order has been shipped. Today I received a message that says so. It seems that the re-casted hasn´t taken long.
Agree with a BIIIGGGG drink!
April 4, 2017 at 2:21 pm #35814Aha – at long last a MOUNTED Fellowship month! I shall have to decide very carefully what to suggest, since mounted opportunities come up so rarely!
April 4, 2017 at 3:14 pm #35815huuuoomm … but first of all my congratulations, Master Barliman, for you winning suggestion of that Watcher … rhuôm … er, by the way of course I do not expect a free drink from you for the regulars here … hm?
April 4, 2017 at 3:21 pm #35816Was that a subtle hint, Master Tree? Very well, put your bowl up here and I’ll fill it with something effervescent, without any rat tails.
April 4, 2017 at 5:30 pm #35817Congratulations Master innkeeper, now I should save some more money for buying at least 2 watchers of CU… cheers
April 4, 2017 at 5:41 pm #35818Congratulations Master Bar-keep
April 4, 2017 at 6:05 pm #35819Mithril should pay me commission for the number of two-figure sales the Watchers will earn them!
April 4, 2017 at 6:08 pm #35820Maybe, That makes this figure run out soon. Care must be taken.
April 4, 2017 at 8:32 pm #35821Cheers to the watcher!
