Here too, Master Milo. The nationalists, dare I say proto-Fascists, calling thermselves the United Kingdom Independence Party, won 29% of the MEP seats. Still, I guess we shouldn’t talk politics. Let’s just sit and have a beer in the garden and pray for the return of sanity.

Saw our first swallows about ten days ago. They nest every year in the watermill where Mrs B is (believe it or not) a miller. Strangely, it’s not barley she mills, but — er, some other sort of grain (you can tell I’m an expert, can’t you?).

huoomm … unfortunately I also told my dear Ent-wife about having seen the first swallows …. rhuômm … know what she said? … hoommm … “ah,you ol’ haggard, better open your eyes – I’ve seen the first swallows more than a week ago.”
huoommm …. that’s when arguing ends before it has started, right? ….. hooommm …. a watermill you mentioned, Master Barleyman, that’s interesting, no matter which grain is milled there, but it’s a nice source for rat-tails, isn’t it …. huomm … indeed an expert you are, I never doubted that … huoomm

Nooooo, they spell it correctly in the Emerald Isle – it’s the Scots who spell it incorrectly.
