Sometimes it must be remembered that we all have our own language and uses. And while “Oestron-English” seems to be the general medium for our communications we all have our own mother-tongue languages, and some shifts or phrases of our own languages translated into another ones may sound rude, impolite or harsh to others.

I am bringing some ounces of St. Geroge’s bread* to the Poney to celebrate its coming and will share it with you all.

April 27, 2015 at 2:23 pm #32560A large glass of anything strong please.
Just to forget the preview picture of Steward Thorondir – Exactly the opposite of what I expected and sent to Chris, young proud, tall and sitting up straight on his throne.April 27, 2015 at 3:12 pm #32561Nicely sculpted as one would expect, but he makes me think more of an ageing Denethor than a young and vital Thorondir.
April 29, 2015 at 8:42 pm #32578Mine host, would you be kind enough to put on a couple of belated barrels whenever you are next in the bar as I would like all patrons have a drink on me to celebrate my eldest daughter giving birth to a daughter yesterday, 28th April.
It does make you feel a bit older with the official title of being a grandparent!!!
.I’ll settle up with you later Barli (honest)

May 1, 2015 at 2:10 pm #32590huuooommm … I like free drinks … huom … so tomorrow it might be Master Barliman’s turn after his suggestion then finally might have won the race … rhûom … I’m looking forward to that … hom
May 1, 2015 at 3:32 pm #32591All the best to her and your entire family David!
May 2, 2015 at 10:09 am #32592huoommm …. congratulations, Master Barliman, for your success in suggesting Elfhelm over and over again …. rhûoomm … see, you cannot haste each and everything, you just have to keep some stubborn patience … huômmhom … will there be any free drinks because of your success? … let’s just share your joy that way, please … huooommtidomm …
May 2, 2015 at 10:22 am #32593I was wondering when someone would ask for a free drink. Ah well, it’s a special day, so why not?
Yes, even in Bree we have a saying that “everything comes to he who waits”, and there may be some truth in it. Personally I prefer to think of it not so much as patience but as “bloody-mindedness”. Mrs B. says I have an abundance of it.
May 2, 2015 at 3:52 pm #32594I hope you have more “bloody-mindedness” left to wait another two years before you actually have your miniature Master Barliman.
May 2, 2015 at 4:42 pm #32595Alas, Master Regalrick, based on current production times this is potentilly all too true. But I shall try to remain positive for now.
May 2, 2015 at 11:18 pm #32596Huoomm … but what are those two years compared with at least 5 years of suggesting before … huom … so then , seven years would be covered … alas … grûom … if you just consider an approximate lifetime of a dwarf that is not very much … huom …
yes, to remain positive is the correct way of thinking … huoommrhûom … that means we’ll enjoy at least 5 more springs until the figure sees its light (in case the mould doesn’t break) … rhuooomm … -
