@ Holger : c´mon . . . . Post your pictures, not your face. We already know it . . .June 26, 2009 at 2:20 pm #5944Necronomicon? Aah, Shub-Niggurath! Ph’nglui mglw’nafh Cthulhu R’lyeh wgah’nagl fhtagn! 😡
June 26, 2009 at 2:23 pm #5945And that’s from a man who’s either spent way too much time reading H.P.Lovecraft or has drunk way too much of my finest brew!
June 26, 2009 at 2:28 pm #5946I always wondered what may have caused great Cthulhu’s dreaming death, I think your finest brew may be the answer …
June 26, 2009 at 2:30 pm #5947I deny everything until my lawyer is present. Someone go and get Nob…
June 26, 2009 at 3:17 pm #5948Huooooommmm rhuuoomm hom …. ahem, just to be honest, I really dunno what all this is about at the moment …. rhuoommm … strange things are going on at the moment meseems … huom … maybe Master Barliman added some, well, curious ingredients to some of his liquids … huoommm … anyway, could also have to do with new technologies, as Master Barliman guessed … rhuoommm … I’m lost … hom
June 26, 2009 at 6:50 pm #5949This is a talkative bunch today…
Barliman wrote:Modern technology? Bah humbug. Facebook? Never even looked at it. Grumble grumble grumble. But seriously, what’s it all about? Can it serve people virtual scrumpy? (which is all my scrumpy is anyway).
That would probably require bottling and distribution of “Barley’s Best”. Virtual scrumpy just isn’t the same.
June 26, 2009 at 8:44 pm #5950It virtually is.

@ Holger : c´mon . . . . Post your pictures, not your face. We already know it . . .The book is a darn sight better. The hero (the Depp character in the movie) is a skeevy rare book dealer who is a descendant of Napoleon Bonaparte who has a massive miniatures collection, wherein he plays out Waterloo again and again. I like to think its a Prince August 25mm Waterloo army.
And the plot is all about a rare Alexandre Dumas book. Also, Satan.

June 28, 2009 at 9:37 am #5952Huooommm … Waterloo? … well, I used to play a board-game based on that for many years … rhuoommm … I always failed when I tried to take “La Haie St” first because Master Wellington expected that … rhuoomm … should have been “Frichemont” first, just to cut off the advancing Prussians there … huoommm … have the heavy artillery covering “La Haie St” and “La Haie” the Royal Guards cavallery all could have attacked Frichemont instead of staying and protecting that man … rhuomm …. huomm … just a guess, of course … hom
June 28, 2009 at 12:20 pm #5954Huooommmmm … no one around? …. homm … sorry, Man in the Dark, I didn’t realize you being present … sorry … huoommm … what about Gandalf and Thorin smoking their pipes and talking … rhuoommm ….
Oh, Master Nob, lawyer as you are … could you please tell your client to serve one bowl of that watery-he-knows-of-well, please? … and hurry up, please … rhuoommm … took a while to sculpt Bombur, I’ve heard … well, yesterday I managed to assemble them rally-figures … huom … excellent they are … quite dynamic in their poses and very much 3-dimensional … huoomm … I heard someone complain about the way of casting … having all those additional parts to the figures … rhuoommm … as for me it’s simply perfectly done, as this is the only way to give the figures that touch of movement … huoomm … I especially like that Half-orc standard bearer and the new design of the standard … huom … have a look at the design of the swords, Master Caster … hoommm
Well, I’ve finished that bowl by now …. rhuoommm … and have two leaves … rhuoomm … no, should mean I have to leave …June 28, 2009 at 12:29 pm #5955I just give an account of a mistake! In the official website of Mithril appears that the winner of May GF is the Half-Orc warband leader …. Doesn´t the winner was the female assassin?…. Or is that somewhere it was said that could not be conducted ….
June 28, 2009 at 1:14 pm #5956Huoommm … Master Erchamion, as far as I can remember the list of the unreleased GF-figures reads:
– Bert the troll
– Bard & thrush
– Celebrian
– Witch-king at Pelennor
– Durin VI
– Black Numenorian Capt. of M. Morgul
– Half-orc standard-bearer
– Female assasin of Dol Amroth
– at the moment there’s a race between Bombur and some others …That’s all I know of … rhuoommm … in case my memory is failing and meets our barkeep’s I can ask Master Axel about this, because he always keeps records about this matter … rhuoomm
Huoommmm … that’s what I recall … huom … if my memory serves me well …
June 28, 2009 at 2:22 pm #5957I’m hoping that Bombur will flatten the opposition – perhaps literally, if they don’t get out of the way.
June 28, 2009 at 4:18 pm #5958Huoommmmm … this doesn’t matter, Master Barliman … as he will appear anyway … rhuoomm … or did you forget what I said … ? … huoommm … I think he’ll be sitting with Bifor and Bombur at a table … rhuoommmhuoommmhom …
June 28, 2009 at 4:25 pm #5959Huoommm …. sorry … Bifur, Bofur and Bombur … of course …. I always mix up the names …
June 28, 2009 at 4:37 pm #5960No, I understood the Unexpected Party business, Master Tree, but the Bombur figure I want to see is one representing him as he fought at the Battle of Five Armies, not singing and eating and playing a drum at bag End. Two quite different representations.
June 28, 2009 at 5:47 pm #5961Huoommmm … rhuoommm … I do hope that there will be two Bomburs in the Ent … huom end, of course … rhuoomm
June 29, 2009 at 4:34 am #5962Several friends and I role-play HP Lovecraft Call of Cthulhu. It is an excellent game system from Chaosium, and we use rafm miniatures made especially for the game.
Their quality is nothing like Mithrils produced by Chris, but they serve the purpose.
