Their quality is nothing like Mithrils produced by Chris, but they serve the purpose.
After reading the HPL books, I later always wanted to play CoC – at least it still sits on my book shelf. Perhaps better I never played it, is insanity contagious? From player character to player …
[Sorry, could not resist …]
I have heard its cousin Runequest would be a nice option for ME gaming. I think I also own one or two of the miniatures, hidden somewhere in my treasure chests …
June 29, 2009 at 7:46 am #5965That looks a little like Mrs B first thing in the morning.

– Bert the troll
– Bard & thrush
– Celebrian
– Witch-king at Pelennor
– Durin VI
– Black Numenorian Capt. of M. Morgul
– Half-orc standard-bearer
– Female assasin of Dol Amroth
– at the moment there’s a race between Bombur and some others …That’s all I know of … rhuoommm … in case my memory is failing and meets our barkeep’s I can ask Master Axel about this, because he always keeps records about this matter … rhuoomm
Huoommmm … that’s what I recall … huom … if my memory serves me well …
I think the standard bearer was a Half-Troll Angmar and the Female Assassin of Dol Amroth won the vote to Half-Orc Warband Leader. And where the mistake it is in the list of Mithril ….. unless Master Barliman gave me a drink too strong for me …..
June 29, 2009 at 8:26 am #5967Yes, Master Ent, I did see the new sword design. If you have a look at a M5 you will find a very close design. The M9 is similar also. M35 officer is holding one…. Therefor not really that new, but I like it anyway.
Whoever complained about the way of casting … having all those additional parts to the figures has never converted a mini by the looks of it. I also, like Master Theobald, can only see the endless possibilities of figures casted like this. The more parts the better!June 29, 2009 at 8:29 am #5968Well Master Barliman, I’m very glad I haven’t met Mrs B first thing in the morning…..
June 30, 2009 at 3:53 am #5974Hey Protozeus, yes insanity is contagious!!! Of course, while playing CoC we keep a close eye on our “friends” and shoot anyone who looks the least bit “crazy.”
June 30, 2009 at 7:52 am #5975This is exactly what I expected …
July 2, 2009 at 8:02 am #5977Hey, it was not our intention to scare the customers away (hehe). Or is everyone drunk and asleep?
July 2, 2009 at 8:06 am #5978I think everyone is readying themselves for the heavy drinking session that will be required to celebrate Bombur’s victory in the GF poll! – at least, I hope it will be to celebrate victory, and not to drown their sorrows at his defeat…
July 2, 2009 at 9:03 am #5979We are having a drink eighter way…..
July 2, 2009 at 12:39 pm #5980Oh yes, it is so hot out there, that even I need a cold ale!!
And I have seen many nice things last days. So it seems, that there are a lot of devotees of Saruman out there, gathering their forces. No one knows, if this is for pleasure of the Dark Lord or if this arouses his anger……
July 2, 2009 at 1:45 pm #5981Huoooommmm … someone mentioned having a drink? … hoomm … yes, Master Estel, it’s hot out there where I just came from … rhuoommm … much too hot … hom …
I saw good old Master Bombur racing with those others … huommm … winning he is … huom … so, as I mentioned before, there will be two versions of that Dwarf this year … rhuoomm, I thinkJuly 2, 2009 at 3:45 pm #5982Heh, I watched the Rankin-Bass Hobbit movie last night – with John Huston as Gandalf. Twas great fun, and Bombur was pretty durn fat.
No Beorn, alas. And the wood elves looked very leprechaun-ish.
Rather liked Laketown and the men of Laketown’s look. I might use the brownish colour scheme for any such project involving them.
July 2, 2009 at 3:57 pm #5983Well, I’m delighted to see that the Fat Dwarf has won the GF poll – and as I point out on the GF page, Master Tree, he is described as fat at his every earliest appearance in “The Hobbit” – indeed, as “immensely fat”!
I shall be interested to see how The Man interprets him – I certainly hope he’ll be made to look far more clinically obese than Chris’s rather slim Forlong…

He seems to Volstagg, the Thor´s friend? 😆

July 2, 2009 at 4:19 pm #5985Yes, those are the sort of proportions that a Bombur figure should demonstrate! I used to love reading the Thor comics when I was a lad. Do they still publish them? I haven’t seen one for a while. Indeed, Thor must be just about the only comicbook super-hero that the movie industry hasn’t pillaged (yet…) for the big screen.
July 2, 2009 at 4:25 pm #5986“yet” ….. but in a very short time …..
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0800369/
And continues selling the comic-book ….
July 2, 2009 at 4:31 pm #5987Hmmm, that should be very interesting. Brian Blessed will certainly make a great Odin, but I don’t recognise the Thor actor’s name (I’m not very “up” on modern actors).
July 2, 2009 at 4:53 pm #5988And Kenneth Brannagh directing…and likely featuring a cameo by Samuel L. Jackson and Robert Downey Junior.
I also loved the old Thor comic, especially as imagined by Walt Simonson during the 1980s. Warren Ellis’s 4 issue run about 8 years ago was also brilliant.

July 2, 2009 at 5:02 pm #5989Hooommmmrhuoommm … as for Bombur … well vertically sized, as you put it once, Master Barliman, you might be right … huoommm … and Master Erchamion gave some evidence … huoommm … but about stumbling over some doormats … then falling …. rhuoommm … reminds me of certain things having to be done right now …. sorry …. I have too leeve …
