Mmnn! i have had no problem with the black, but prefer to use grey or white car primer from a ‘chain’ store (Halfords Barli) as it dries quick.
I find a lighter undercoat for all scale of figures is best as you can use dark washes to bring out details.
September 13, 2009 at 12:50 pm #6846I actually got it to undercoat plastics. The vallejo spray primer melts plastics! I just ran out of the vallejo stuff.
Going to hunt down another tin of vallejo grey and a vallejo black for metals and leave the GW black for the odd plastic i need.
Buttons?
Me?
Never!
September 13, 2009 at 12:57 pm #6847So why are you holding your trousers up?
September 13, 2009 at 1:07 pm #6848Rhuooommmm … 101st … and what is it ? … rhuoommm … a barkeep and a dear regular quarreling about buttons, coiny things and the latest Canadian beltless-trousery-fashion … huom
September 13, 2009 at 2:33 pm #6850I’m not quarrelling. I know a man with no flies on him when I see one.
September 13, 2009 at 6:02 pm #6851Huoommm … all right, I didn’t want to interfere here … but as for them open flies … huommm …
we don’t know anything about them latest Canadian fashion, do we? … rhuoomm ….
ahem, Master Barliman, may I please have a large bowl of that honey-couloured and clear-clean watery liquid I prefer? … rhuoomm … don’t ask for them coiny things again, please … huoomm
… at least there were two of your custumors offering me a free bowl for a lifetime (if you do remember) … rhuoomm … so, why not serve me one of them bowls, Master Barliman? …. rhuoomm …September 13, 2009 at 6:08 pm #6852The problem is that I’m so up to my ears in things that have to be done that I find it hard to recall the promises I make. But I do believe you’re right about this one. Any more MX situation updates at all, by the way?
September 13, 2009 at 6:19 pm #6853Huoommm … nope … The Man’s busy … I’ll find out … rhuomm … I cannot haste everything … as you might know … but by now the M7, as I’ve seen, has crossed the 100 € barrier … rhuoommm … but why? … rhuoohuom … strange it is … rhuoomm … huom … thanks for that bowl, Master Barliman … hom
September 13, 2009 at 8:42 pm #6854mmhh M7 is the rarest after M16 I heard (shared places with M10?) but above 100 is uncommon for a M figurine, except for M16…
what surprises me most is the M82 at 128€ !!! now that’s amazing…September 13, 2009 at 9:21 pm #6855it seems the average price of most rare bellow M100 figurines has just got a boost in the last hours…. I wonder if that is a bad or good thing.. bad thing because it makes them more and more unavailable to fans…. good things because it gives value to someone’s collection … but well… I’d tend to say it is rather bad in the end…
September 13, 2009 at 9:37 pm #6856Huoomm … rare figures that are, Master Gildor … huommrhuommmm … I did not bid … what for? ………… ? M7 is one of the rarest, I know of.
September 13, 2009 at 10:12 pm #6857yes… but a M82 at 128… or the M1.. at nearly 50€ …. I had not seen such prices since the “years of the movies” when the prices were jumping quite high!
September 14, 2009 at 1:03 am #6858Well now, looks like The Man has been moonlighting again:

Those definitely look like Mr. Tubb’s faces. Though the subject matter is rather naughty :p
54mm or 32mm, I wonder.
September 14, 2009 at 8:48 am #6859Looks somehow familiar, is it a new version of Princess Shaaranon?

September 14, 2009 at 9:02 am #6860Huoommmrhuoom … It’s The Man’s sculpting for sure … huommm … I think it’s 54mm as Master Corless seems to concentrate on that scale, as far as I know … rhuomm … look at the “Teutoburger Wald”-series for example … hom … then he gave up producing the two warbands in 32mm scale … huoommm … that’s all I can guess
September 14, 2009 at 11:22 am #6861Master Corless and I discussed the matter quite some time ago. He has been trying to get his hands on the masters of the Grenadier “Females from Ancient Times” for years… he was selling some of these himself back in time and has always been craving to get the masters to be able to produce them himself… It seems has has finally managed to get the rights from the italian owner of the masters… and is now ready to put them back on shelves under a new reference name… but it will be recasts… indeed
It is indeed Princess Shaaranon but it can’t use this name anymore as this is copyright Grenadier… but the mould “changed hands” and well, now it can be rebuilt… I suppose the water nymph and princess achmiri will soon follow… that’s a great opportunity for collectors…
September 14, 2009 at 12:45 pm #6862A master is a master and everything else is “only” a copie anyway!
But nice to have the girls back.September 14, 2009 at 12:54 pm #6863Huoommm … a great opportunity indeed, Master Gildor … rhuoomm … though they’re not based on Tolkien at all … hom
September 14, 2009 at 1:02 pm #6864Rhruomdomhom … hom … I still wonder why there are no reactions to the last two MS-releases so far … huoommm ….
September 14, 2009 at 2:19 pm #6868How delightful
and!!!:
The Dwarves are back!
Quick, Master Caster, grab ’em!
Edit:
Alright, I bought a set, figuring the damn things would be gone before one of you lot could get your hands on it.
I will sell the set on to you at cost. I don’t have the rest of the sets, so it would be a bit of a nuisance of me keeping them. Not that I’d mind, in the grander scheme of things, but still, there are far more worthy homes these could go to.
