I assume that the choice of figure is up to Chris. Therefore I assume that the figures he selects fit his own tastes. Or (and perhaps I’m being cynical to even think it), maybe – because he’s so pressed for time – he chooses a subject he knows well so that it doesn’t take him long to design it?
September 15, 2009 at 9:34 pm #6904or he has a “model” or prototype somewhere he could use , that has not been “released” yet… who knows… it would be easier to adapt…and produce…
September 15, 2009 at 9:52 pm #6905Interesting things happened here meanwhiling! Also important things . . .
The Master Caster is satisfied! An amazing thing this is! Congrats, Master Caster, from my heart.
Sorry for my absence, but I have to paint . . . magnificent Halforcs . . . two different sets . . . puuhhh.September 16, 2009 at 1:21 pm #6906Yes, I did it and so did Axel and Gavin. Thanks to them for thinking of me. Greatly appreciated!
Can’t wait to see them Halforcs….September 16, 2009 at 3:50 pm #6910Huooommmrhuoommm …. as for that ‘bonus figure’ again I would like to mention that I’m very much pleased with it, no matter what character of the Tolkien-universe is reveiled … rhuoomm …
alright, it was me getting on Master O’Brian’s nerves about such matters … rhuoommm … but bonus-figures were promised by the Company, weren’t they? … huoommm … so I try to insist just by asking … huoommm … remember the tradition of releasing Christmas figures, please … I also kept on asking after I witnessed that there was no Christmas figure one year (2005) to start that good old tradition again [by the way was there a Christmas figure in 2008????] … so we had a brilliant Thranduil, a fascinating Sharkey-figure … you know …
huooommmmmmrhuuoommmmm ……..
huomm … I would like to stress what Master Gildor said before … it’s not us to decide about which figure should be chosen … rhuoommm … that’s what we do in the ‘Gold-Fellowship’, right?
rhuoommm … it’s not up to us at all …. huom … and as for me, I’m glad that the Company offers the chance of a free (sic !) figure I don’t have to pay for … rhuoommm … this I do respect very much and it’s not me who would ever criticize The Man’s choice for the figure …
… never … rhuooommmmhuommmhom …September 16, 2009 at 5:07 pm #6911you are right master ent
as for the christmas 2008 well you said it yourself : it was sharkey fleeing north
2006 is the last 54mm Christmas to date, the Arthedain Captain… 2007 was Thranduil
September 17, 2009 at 11:41 am #6917Huooommm … thank you Master Gildor … rhuom … I should have had a look at my lists … huom … but sometimes Ents are a bit lazy …
September 17, 2009 at 12:22 pm #6919Taking root, are we?
September 17, 2009 at 5:03 pm #6920Huooommmm … not really taking roots, Master Gavin, not at all … rhuoommm … but sometimes every being needs some kind of rest … huomm … if you had had a close look at the latest GF-newsletter you might have found out that I’m still involved in some kind of thoughts … rhuoommm … not running around hastily doesn’t necessarily mean to take roots, as you put it … huommm … I do like a certain lazyness, as it gives me time for better contemplation … hom
September 17, 2009 at 6:07 pm #6923The latest picture shows that the project continues to proceed to the same high standard as the earlier figures. I especially like this particular group, which – if I have to economise when the time comes – is the one that I’d buy if I could only afford to buy one part! Gandalf and Thorin are tremendous. The Man is doing you proud, Master Tree!
September 17, 2009 at 8:22 pm #6925That is a beautiful piece of work, isn’ it?

I have no problem with that either as it makes sense to utilise something that may otherwise go to waste.
Isildur is fine by me as I like the Numenorean style (not the ‘plate’ armour though
) helms, but I hope the pose is not similar to those already, i.e. holding up the Ring. But as it is ‘free’ then welcomed anyway.
It would have been nice perhaps for CT to have chosen something from the GF suggestion ‘pot’ though as there is a wealth of good ideas still waiting AND suggested by us the very people who the Freebie is for.
Still, let’s see what appears.
September 18, 2009 at 11:32 am #6933Huooommmm … strange it is that you didn’t see a pic of this group when I hung it up in the Mathom House some time ago on 1st August … rhuoommm … besides, Master Barliman, there will be no single parts (groups) of this vignette being available … huoomm … the vignette will be offered as a whole, as I pointed out somewhere before … huoom
September 18, 2009 at 11:51 am #6935I’m afraid I don’t have time to get over to the Mathom House as often as I should, or anywhere else for that matter either – Always things to do, money to (try to) earn and beers to pour. Nor did I see anything anywhere regarding the MX being a single-piece set. Possibly I wasn’t paying attention. OK, very probably I wasn’t. In fact I really haven’t had a lot of time for hobby matters at all lately. Hence my frequent absences from the Pony.
As a single set I imagine it’s going to be very expensive. In which case I’d better get back to work…
September 18, 2009 at 4:35 pm #6938Huoommmm … I’m afraid I do understand, Master Barliman … rhuoomm … as for news about the upcoming MX-vignette, I provide them in the Mathom House, where you can find the right thread easily … rhuoommm … I do hope it’ll be soon that you will have the time for that again …. huoommm … if you know what I mean …. huomhom
September 18, 2009 at 4:40 pm #6939By the way. Is there any rumor about the price it will have each of the sets ?…..
We have to start saving money….:rolleyes:September 18, 2009 at 10:05 pm #6944Rhuoomm… no idea, Master Erchamion, not at all … huoomm … starting to save money for that might be a good idea though … rhuoomm … might turn out to be a bit expensive all in all … rhuomm … but, you know, it had to be done … huoomm

dou think so? I have interpreted, the statements of Michael in the last newsletter in the way, that Mithril plans to release several vignettes, so they can be put together. Maybe I am wrong as you are the one who gives orders and invests so much in that project. Maybe I understood Michael wrong, maybe they have different plans??

estelSeptember 19, 2009 at 6:48 am #6948A good point, Master Estel. It was at the back of my mind that I’d seen a reference somewhere to the set consisting of several different vignettes.
September 19, 2009 at 10:14 am #6952Huoommmm … the MX-“Unexpected Party” will be a vignette … huomm … consisting of several groups (unfortunately called vignettes) of about 3 figures each … rhuoommm … it will only be offered as MX535 “The Unexpected Party” … huoomm… hom … Master O’Brian can only broadcast information The Man gives him to publish … rhuoommm … as I tried to document this project in the Mathom House, I’ll nail a list of the characters and poses over there … rhuoomm.
