Well, I’m back.
(From Italy, that is.) I met someone at the miniatures exhibition/competition there who paints Mithrils as well. He knows the man and is going to send me pics of his painted Mithrils as well as a special figure the man gave him. I’ll upload them here or send them to Gildor or something.
November 12, 2009 at 11:27 am #7780Good news, Mistress Wendy. I hope you have eaten Tagliarini con Funghi Porcini and a dilicious Sprizz . . .
November 12, 2009 at 7:17 pm #7781Curious about M357 (Rose Gamgee and Goldilocks).
Was it just playfulness on Mr. Tubbs’ part to have a Goldilocks character? And where are the “three bears?”
November 12, 2009 at 7:52 pm #7782No, Master OA, Goldilocks is genuine JRRT – see the last chapter of LOTR!
November 12, 2009 at 9:06 pm #7783Thank you Barliman! I found one paragraph that mentions Goldilocks. But it doesn’t say who she is. Do you know who she is? Is she a hobbit child? Whose child?
November 13, 2009 at 12:52 am #7784I just got my MX463! I love this figure. My compliments to the men who commissioned and sculpted this Imrahil! Cheers!

And even better – thanks for the Encyclopedia of Arda. I never knew of this resource!

November 13, 2009 at 12:37 pm #7790Huuooommmmm …. Master OriginalAragorn, it was me who comissioned that Imrahil … and you should know who sculpted it … huom … I’m very much pleased that you like the figure … rhuoommm … I just saw that it’s sold out by now … hooommm … but as you know, there is another MX being moulded at the moment …
… huuuuuooomrhuuuhhoommmNovember 13, 2009 at 1:04 pm #7793OriginalAragorn wrote:Thanks Gavin! Man – you know your stuff! And even better – thanks for the Encyclopedia of Arda. I never knew of this resource!

Once upon a time I would have known this without looking. But alas, my crest has fallen and I’ve been drinking local water and not sleeping for three years straight. Some days I have legitimate concerns about how to spell my name
November 13, 2009 at 1:11 pm #7794You sound just like our resident Tree!
November 13, 2009 at 3:22 pm #7802Theobald – I knew it was you and Mr. Tubbs!
Great job on that! That’s odd about it being sold out. I got mine pretty quickly. Maybe I ordered the last one!
November 13, 2009 at 4:12 pm #7805Huoommm … indeed the last one, Master OriginalAragorn has now been sold… huoomm .. alas … by now all of the old MXes are sold out …. rhuoomm … that selling has nothing to do with me … it was left up to The Company to do that … huoommm … I can imagine of some Frumgars being left somewhere … well, I dunno … rhuuooommmmhuom ….
Anyway …. huoommmrhuuooommmhom … to be honest … this year I just wanted to top the Imrahil-MX … rhuooommmmhuom … keep fingers crossed that the moulds will hold …. gruuoohhhmmm … huoomm … they will, and about this I am very sure … rhuoommm … just believe a tree …. sometimes, if you like to do so … rhuoommmNovember 13, 2009 at 4:14 pm #7806…. gruooommm … messy English, sorry …
November 13, 2009 at 6:43 pm #7807Wow – I’m very lucky to have gotten the last Imrahil model! 😆
Master Ent, your riddles are most enticing! Do you know of some place where I might procure a Frumgar model?
November 13, 2009 at 7:25 pm #7810Having just received the newsletter, I am pleasantly surprised that the magnificent Dwarven ‘throng’ is less than I expected it to be, I may just throw caution (and good sense) to the wind and grab it in a ‘one’er’. Still expensive, but we knew that, but I had dreaded it being over the £200 barrier.
I just hope the £ creeps up against the Euro before the release date.
November 13, 2009 at 10:25 pm #7814The price is more than fair. As everybody determined: there are 15 miniatures AND assecoires.
So, it´s up to you, collectors . . .November 13, 2009 at 10:27 pm #7815Oh Master Barliman, let´s have a round of drinks here. The release of the MX-event is coming closer as expected.
November 14, 2009 at 7:41 am #7820A very fair price indeed, the bumper MX looks, but it’s still more than I can afford at this time of year (with Yule approaching and all, and Mrs B, Nob, Bob and the cat expecting gifts), so I shall have to hope the set remains available for a while, at least until you lot all settle your bar tabs so that I can afford it!
November 14, 2009 at 11:36 am #7824Rhuuuooommmhom … the price for a single MX-figure is … huoomm … alas … high, so to say … rhuoomm as for 15 MX-figures it is 15 times higher than that … huoomm … some accessoires were needed … well, then there had to be a sufficiant base … gruoohhummm … alas … huoommm … I think the result is more than sufficiENT … huoommm … to me it’s Master Chris Tubb at his best … so let’s have a toast on him here … hoommm
