Rhuoommm … there and back again I am, Master Barliman … huoommm … had to fix some pics in the Mathom House … huoommm … finished just in time … so, what’s next ?
November 29, 2009 at 4:10 pm #8101hasty I am … to hasty maybe… anyway what’s done is done
November 30, 2009 at 11:09 am #8113Huoommmm … I just received the new figures … huoommm … so by now there is an army of Witch Kings here … anyway, those figures really are nice and I do like this Black Númenorian as the pose is very dynamic …. rhuoommmm … though I still don’t like the new primer, but we know about that problem already … hommmm
November 30, 2009 at 11:48 am #8114The primer is still the same?? – I thought it was being changed?
November 30, 2009 at 11:57 am #8115Personally, I have always found the primer too thick to my taste. And anyway, it gets stripped when you remove the mould lines so I can’t really understand the point of priming before removing mould lines…
November 30, 2009 at 12:16 pm #8116Well, I can (and have to) live with that primer, and yes, it was said once that it was being changed … rhuoommm … though I doubt; the surface still is too smooth which does not support painting very much … rhuoommm … but as I have not had time for painting figures for some years now it really doesn’t matter … huoommm … to me those primed miniatures look better than without any undercoating … hom
November 30, 2009 at 12:35 pm #8118That’s true, and they’re better protected against humidity and such (but then, they would be protected well enough in the blisters).
November 30, 2009 at 12:51 pm #8119Huooommmmmmrhuoommmm … as for another matter, I just again tried to keep my records concerning all those tiny miniatures updated … huoommm … I witnessed that until now there are no M520 to M529 figures being released … hom … 10 figures are missing … any idea about who they are? … rhuoommm … maybe the ‘Strawheads’ or even the long forgotten ‘Easterlings’?
November 30, 2009 at 1:55 pm #8120I suspect they’re the long forgotten Easterlings. I gathered from The Man a while ago that he’s not happy to see them released until there’s a way of economically producing them as separate horse-and-rider castings – as you’ll recall, he was VERY unhappy about the Knights of Dol Amroth coming out as one-piece castings. I shall have to enquire after them again…
November 30, 2009 at 2:46 pm #8123Huoommmm … yes, I do remember the disappointment about those “one-piece” riders of Dol Amroth well, Master Barliman … rhuoommm … and as there are so many riders among the Easterlings you might be right guessing that those numbers might refer to them … alas …. I just wish that problem could be settled soon …. rhuoommm …. I might also inquire again … rhuoommm … I just forgot – that’s why I called them “long forgotten”, you know … hoommm … anyway, thank you … oh, by now I assembled those two bad guys … rhuoommm … very nice poses and fine details …. that Black Númenorian offers wonderful possibilities to paint his garment with fine details and patterns … huoommm … I wish I could …
November 30, 2009 at 2:48 pm #8124well the strawheads are not released but produced and I even think I have “witnessed” pics of them… well yes I actually have (but I can’t disclose any pics… )
Unless the easterlings are completly ready for production, I think it’s the strawheads…about the primer… the black numenorean captain is a bit thick yes… lesser than before but still thick… as for the Witch king, it is… almost fine… let’s say… nothing compared to the huge amount of thickness of the past releases…
November 30, 2009 at 3:18 pm #8126Yes, the Tree’s ‘missing’ number sequence might indeed be the ‘Death to the Strawheads’ figures. I too have seen pictures of the Strawheads (as I recall mentioning some months ago), and there are certainly ten of them; and the fact that the missing number sequence comes almost right after the Gamling & Co release certainly suggests it is the Dunlendings rather than the Easterlings that these numbers are intended for. Apologies for the confusion (or wishful thinking, perhaps…)
But the Easterlings are finished. Or at least, so The Man told me quite some while ago (it may even have been last year).
November 30, 2009 at 3:34 pm #8129Huooommm … finished they are, Master Barliman, and it must have been last year … rhuoommm .. I would also like to apologize for some confusion I might have caused .. hom …
but that’s me, tree …November 30, 2009 at 3:47 pm #8131Master Barliman my dear, I think you owe me some good drink… I came to pay my bills and all the bills of all the patrons here… All debts are now erased…
The Pony “bills” and all around it (the whold faerylands.eu) has been renewed for year 2010
November 30, 2009 at 4:05 pm #8139Huuoommmmmrhuoommm … that’s worth to have a drink indeed … rhuoommm … and thank you for all that, Master Gildor … thank you very much … rhuoommmm …
November 30, 2009 at 4:12 pm #8141Celebratory news indeed – I think the Elf shows a great deal of quality in paying off everyone else’s tabs as well as his own. All due kudos to him.
