Yes, but the figures I know of are all genuine originals, not knock-offs; and yet we see more of this comb-helmeted pikeman than any of the other Mw figures. Do you think that for some reason The Man produced a test-mould of just this one figure? That’s always a possibility, I suppose, though it begs the question that if he did, why did he? It’s all academic really, because I don’t suppose we’ll ever know the answer. It just seems odd to me that there seem to be way more of these pike guys than any of the other Half-orcs.
April 22, 2008 at 2:07 pm #1962Well Master Barliman, here’s a speculative explanation which may help you to sleep at night. Recall that this particular pikeman had a flaw at the butt of his pike not seen in the other 3 versions. I would presume that the number of test castings may have had something to do with trying to get it right. Incidently, he’s my favorite and even if there are 100 out there he’s still more rare than M16! Further I think that the Angrenost set may be the rarest of all these to date. Perhaps time will prove me correct.
April 22, 2008 at 3:36 pm #1963You may have it! That explanation would certainly fit. Tonight I’ll be able to have my first sleepless night in months.
April 23, 2008 at 12:00 pm #1977Huuooommmm … the “Angrenost guard” or the “Half-orc command”, Master Kenakko … rhuoomm … I’m not sure about that … hom
April 27, 2008 at 10:04 am #2009Huoommmm … once again it has become a bit quiet around here …. huoommm … so there’s time enough to put a question … hom … does everybody receive the news from our “favourite sellers” (phaeton design and Mithril) each Sunday? …. rhuoommmm … at the moment The Man is selling quite interesting metal things, that’s why I tried to provide a link about that at the marketplace of Tharbad …. huoommmrhuoommm … I just want to know if such things are of any use here … huom … or if I better use my time strolling around in the sun … hom
April 27, 2008 at 10:52 am #2010News each Sunday? I hardly receive any news at all – but I did notice the latest batch of ‘interesting metal things’ from The Man. The M3 seems likely to sell for an interesting price! Makes me wish I hadn’t swapped my spare a little while ago.
April 27, 2008 at 11:37 am #2011Huoommmm … yes, each Sunday …. but most of the time it’s just about the ordinary Mithril-sales … huoommm …. alas, that early Witch-king for about 40 pound by now and still more than two days to go … rhuoommm … though I wager that the dromedary and Karagat will catch up with that soon enough … huommmm …. on the other hand you have to consider that the metal The Man sells always is in the very best condition …. hom …. I’m surprised that the banner-sewing Lady with her five maidens still is available … but it seems that The Man has nearly sold all of them by now though it took some time …. rhuoommm
April 27, 2008 at 5:57 pm #2020Huoommm … as I predicted … Karagat is ahead of that Angmar-king … that camel, of course, still is in front and will achieve more within the next days (those creatures don’t have to be “watered”) … but alas, who thought that the Sargath animist had such a start unleashing his falcon … brilliant start …
Rhuooommm … it’s just me, trying to report on sport …. hom. never mind.April 28, 2008 at 5:58 am #2026So let me make sure I understand this right – you actually hear from The Man every Sunday? Wow, that makes you a very privileged tree indeed. Perhaps even a mallorn.
April 28, 2008 at 1:17 pm #2032Huuoommmmm ….. no, Master Barliman ….. not directly, of course. There’s simply some kind of connection between ‘phaeton design’, ‘Ebay’ and my postbox at this computer here ….. rhuoommm … so don’t worry, I’m not that privileged at all …. though that link is quite useful … hom …. alas, at the moment I have to cope with a horde of Imrahils that arrived today …. 30 there are, holding up their swords …. rhuoommmm … nice chaps, methinks
April 28, 2008 at 1:20 pm #2033But I imagine you’re probably mightily glad to see them!
April 28, 2008 at 1:26 pm #2035Huoommmmm …. yes, indeed, Master Barliman, indeed, even a bit proud …. rhuoommm …. though it causes a slight problem … I have to get rid of them again … huoommm …. I hope I can manage that this year …. but I won’t haste, you know
April 28, 2008 at 1:30 pm #2036Did you actually get at least one of the standard beares, or do you have to buy one from the Mithril website?
April 28, 2008 at 1:38 pm #2037Huoommmm …. no standard bearer arrived yet …. huoommmm … but I think I can settle that with the company … huommmm… just finished to assemble the other one …
each part fits nicely … the scabbard’s empty … all pieces undercoated (not a single metal-shine all over the figure) …. rhuooommmmm … yes, I’m more than pleased at the moment …. homApril 28, 2008 at 1:42 pm #2038Great to hear the Ent is pleased!
April 28, 2008 at 1:53 pm #2039That is great news! I am happy for you!
April 28, 2008 at 2:47 pm #2044Oh, on a side note I made a new thread on the mithril website under Wish List 2008-2009 and was wanting to see what others would want to see in the future. I put two up already, so go check it out!
May 1, 2008 at 12:12 pm #2067Huooommmm …. Ents are pleased most of the time, Master Caster … huoomm … unless things go wrong. …. then we have to consider … hom
Well, Master Jdbrown55, I was busy, too … huoomm … it took me three days to paint the pictures I hung up in the ‘Mathom House’ today … rhuoommm … hom.May 1, 2008 at 11:02 pm #2078There is no rush! Take your time! I just wanted everyone to see if my suggestions would be good or not.
May 1, 2008 at 11:43 pm #2079Rhuoomm …. very good …. huom … but I’m a bit worried that there’s no rush at your place …rhuoomm … did you ever ask a willow about this … rhuoomm … as far as I can remember they also live close to that watery-ereas … huooommm ……
