I think the Elf has earned himself a drink, though his news is – alas!- more bad than good in terms of the possibility of new releases in the near future. At least it explains the delays. Biut when is all this going to happen? Having a plan isn’t the same at all as doing anything about it.

And Master Thingol, the Master Ken refs are to the “Tabletop World” URL that he provides above. Very nice models!

Hmm, don’t we have enough knowlageable men to produce these Easterlings without the company spending a large ammount of money?

The last time that Dwaw was offered ( by the man in this case) , it was somewhere last summer meseems, went about 185 Euros or so . . . .
Puhhh- too much for me, in this case . . .
I will have a certain look for details of what I have mentioned above.

I suppose, no one will be interested in these details . . . so- anyway . . .

PS: Oh, at this point last year I asked the Man, if he has got another one flowing around a little bit cheeper . . . He told me: no!
But that was last year, and he certainly will have found somone by chance last week . . . ;)

Huooommmmm …. anyway it still is an extremely rare figure … huom … those few who own it will not sell it …. rhuoommhuomhom … so the only source is The Man himself …. huooommmm

the scale and metal density of this dwar of waw figurine is different from the other ones…. it is heavier (I know since I have one) but maybe that was meant to be that way…

about other informations… well, master Holger, someone can provide website, someone can provide castings… others can even provide .. sculpting… but there is one thing only Mithril can provide : a copyright and thus the possibility to name a figurine by tolkien standards… thus the phaeton miniatures…

So is it about the name what costs the money, or about the actual production after approvel through Tolkien?

Mithril politics… and the fact Mithril is the only enterprise who owns the licence to produce Tolkien figurines…

Since Lars has his own politics and is the only one -with Mithril- to be able to release “Mithril” ™ figurines no one else can do otherway… I remind you the Man does not have anything to say about it… if he wants some figurines to be released… he has to produce and sell them under his own brand… “phaeton”

I imagine people wouldn’t see them as LOTR figures if they didn’t come out under the Mithril banner, regardless of being by the same talented designer and to the same style, which probably means they wouldn’t sell in sufficient numbers to make the exercise worthwhile. Nor would they be ‘collectibles’ in the same way that Mithrils are regarded. Shame.

But I wish I could get my mind round Lars’ agenda, if he actually has one. But I find his whole approach to marketing Mithril entirely beyond my understanding.

In general I have to say people are pretty stupid. Well that what it seems to me anyway. There are to many things in this whole Mithril thing with all lose ends and nobody seems to be able to put a knot in those ends.
I wouldn’t care if these minis have a Mithril stamp in the base or not, as long as Chris desighned them.
The unreleased dwarfes don’t have anything on the base and still, they all sold and not for a small ammount eighter.
The elf vignette, the dancing elf girl….. and I’m sure if you Gildor would put one of the “Born of Hope” on ebay you would be surprised how much you could get for it. None of them are Mithril, but they are done by the man and this is the important thing. I will keep buying figures from Chris if he puts a “Phaeton” up for sale, just because I love his style, not because of a Mithril stamp.
Just my thoughts and I don’t really care if someone else agrees or not.

You should care about, Master of the Casts, because there are many who would agree to you. Myself included.
I want to remind this community on the discussion last year around the time of the last regular M-release . . .

I’m also agree with Master Caster… main and the only important fact in this case is our devotion to a design that gives us Chris…. there are many figures on market and I have seen lot’s of them but non of those 32 mm miniatures are not impress me so I do not waste my money on this products. So I like mithril, but I like the Man’s design.. So if one day his figures will be under his small company… why not… I will buy… once when the Man discontinues his work… I will close my chapter with 32 mm figures… I will go back to my other hobbies and those minis will be closed in my shelf till the end of my earth time…. so this is it… I’m going to drink something… now….

Yes, let’s have a nice drink. Maybe one special “Archer 80’s”, that seems to be very tasteful.
