Maybe we should skinn them like the wargs….
I wonder if the wisest of the Ents know how to clean orc skin??? 😆July 15, 2010 at 1:39 pm #10981Huoooommmm … to be honest, Master Caster, you cannot clean such stuff …. huommrhuom
July 15, 2010 at 1:42 pm #10982I thought so…
July 15, 2010 at 11:01 pm #10985An exceptional time for this guy from Down Under ! So, let´s have exceptional drinks for us, the exceptional guests at this exceptional time . . .
PS as we say in German: ein Mitternachts Schlummer Trunk !!!
July 16, 2010 at 7:30 am #10989Hmm a new member wantingwater92. If this is a orc, then at least he only wants water…… 😆
July 16, 2010 at 7:31 am #10990Master Archer, I got your mail.
I like the pic very much and I’ll send you your answer on monday.
Hope that is not to late, but I’m sure it will surprise you. 😎July 16, 2010 at 9:16 am #10993Wantingwater92 sound like it’s an Ent, if our own resident Tree is anything to judge by. Always demanding water, he is.
July 16, 2010 at 11:08 am #1099432°C here in Toulouse.
Master Barliman, may I request a drink which contains more than water please ?
I am thinking of this famous Sûri-kylä spirit which is always embellished with “Lossoth Ice”.July 16, 2010 at 1:53 pm #10995What is Suri-kylä, Master Milo ?!?!?

I am thinking of this famous Sûri-kylä spirit which is always embellished with “Lossoth Ice”.A few days ago reached 41ºC in Granada. Only today I´m a ´fresh` 36ºC. It is normal here ….. Not for nothing It is summer!!!

http://lotro.allakhazam.com/db/geography.html?lotrarea=1928July 16, 2010 at 4:17 pm #10998Interesting. I always tried to keep away from any online computer “RPG” stuff (and spend my time at this bar here, instead). Can anyone tell me more about this LOTRO? Does it have the right Tolkien “feeling” to it, or is more like the usual WoW, D&D, etc. stuff?
July 16, 2010 at 4:24 pm #10999I don’t like lotro… mainly because it is a (mmo)RPG set in the world of Tolkien… I am from those purist who think that the story should not be rewritten or extrapolated by anybody… SO I don’t play rpgs in middle earth…
Still, I play mmo…. and I play a lot, I play Everquest 2 actually… At least, the universe is its ownJuly 16, 2010 at 4:40 pm #11000Well, thanks for that impression, Master Gildor. Personally, if it is done with care and without changing the big lines of events, I would (and did) RPG in ME. My biggest concern with something like LOTRO would be to encounter dozens “gand0lf254″s wielding L38 smaug-slaying intelligent tooth picks while saving the princess of XYZ.
July 16, 2010 at 4:40 pm #11001Huoommmm …. what do you mean, Master Gildor, “the universe is its own”? … rhuoommm …. so, no copyright on that? … hoomm … anyway …
32°C in Toulouse?, Master Milo … that’s not much … rhuomm … there are some more °C in the Teutoburger Forest at the moment …. huommJuly 16, 2010 at 5:03 pm #11002I do not know Lotro. I just googled Lossoth to check if there was some famous places…
I found this town on a wiki which seems quite serious and complete (even if not JRRT source):
http://lotro-wiki.com/index.php/ForochelJuly 16, 2010 at 9:08 pm #11003master theobald it is not about copyright, indeed there are copyrights on each world… but I mean… though I respect those who play in the ME universe (and the court of ardor with all MERP reference is a good example) I simply can’t play myself in the me universe… at one point there will always be invention… contradiction, even if not meant by the developpers, these will be achieved by the players… since the history necessarily takes place before the war of the rings…. but in the third age (because no licence for silmarillion etc…) it would require the devs… AND the players knowing by heart ALL the books and characters , places and events that do exist in tolkien universe…. that means LOTS of canonical books…. of which very few people master the full content…
that’s too dangerous for me to extrapolate, we never know if there isn’t a canon text over there saying the opposite…
when a game company develops their own universe with their own cosmogony, mythology, history, geography, and characters… at least the do master ALL of their lore content…
this is not the case with Tolkien… no one can really master ALL the content, except maybe Christopher Tolkien and a very few “sages”…that was what i was meaning
…. which actually was very well summed up by protezeus example on what COULD happen (and has happened … no doubt about it)….July 16, 2010 at 10:27 pm #11004Huoommmmrhuoomm … I see … I’ll have to consider that … huomm … not today, of course, as it might take time … rhuoomm … maybe even a lot of time … hoooommmmm … one day I’ll do that, be sure … rrrhuooommhuom …
July 16, 2010 at 10:49 pm #11005Master Caster, it is never too late . . .
( . . . never too late, never too late to love you . . . a song, if I remember right by “Kissing the Pink” fresh outta 80ies music box . . . )
July 17, 2010 at 1:10 am #11006Lossoth Ice sounds like a good business venture.
July 17, 2010 at 5:44 am #11007I agree with you entirely, Master Elf – even as a mere wargamer playing within the context of the War of the Ring, as far and as accurately as it can be extrapolated from LOTR and the History of ME volumes, it still worriers me that I might accidentally lose the war and see the world overrun by Orcs, or see Aragorn stomped on by a troll or something. But it’s still fun enough to make it worthwhile. And the armies look so pretty (er, not really the right word, but you know what I mean) when they’re all painted up and marshalled ready for battle!
