What time is it Down Under MAster Caster? Should we have a nighttime drink or a early morning drink???
Just be here waiting for the glue doing itยดs job . . . you know what I mean . . .October 20, 2010 at 5:30 am #12446Texas is a big state Master Marshal of the Mark…. long it takes to ride off over the desert ! Welcome back !
October 20, 2010 at 6:40 am #12447You haven’t missed a lot, Master Marshal. Just me serving drinks and none of my customers paying for them. So everything is much as it was when you last dropped in.
A propos nothing in particular, I took advantage of the Mithril ‘27% off everything’ deal a week or so back to get a few of the MS figures I hadn’t got, and in consequence of them arriving yesterday I have a question. Why is Bolg’s standard-bearer a midget? I thought the ‘fighters’ of Bolg’s bodyguard were supposed to be orcs of great size (and that’s the story ‘narrator’s’ – i.e. Tolkien’s – description, not Bilbo’s, so it’s got nothing to do with their relative size compared to a guy who’s four foot nothing)! But this guy is the smallest orc that Mithril has ever produced, so I was wondering if there was a reason. Any suggestions?
October 20, 2010 at 8:59 am #12448The standard has got a lot of weight and pushed him into the ground, or it’s a freshborn orc, still growing ๐
Maybe you should water him a bit and put fertiliser in the water too….October 20, 2010 at 1:01 pm #12451Nice story, Master Estel, but “not as sure as Shire-talk”, as they say in the colonies.
Anyone got any alternative theories? – by which I mean theories not invented after four pints of draught scrumpy and a packet of crisps.
October 20, 2010 at 4:17 pm #12455He might be small because he could also be a wolf rider in a future release. The wolfriders have been on the small end of the orc scale.
October 20, 2010 at 5:35 pm #12456You have an optimistic imagination, Master Shadyt, but there’s no reference to any part of Bolg’s bodyguard being wolf-riders; nor does it seem likely that his standard-bearer would be smaller than the other members of his guard. And if you could ‘dismount’ and straighten-up the wolfriders amongst the Mithril range, they’re not small anyway! So the diminutive size of this figure still remains a mystery.
October 20, 2010 at 6:36 pm #12458Huoommm …. definitely that’s one of them “snagas” who was running away from the battle field, once he was able to hold up the banner he found with the slain standard-bearer … rhuoommm …
he shouted out, “Run, all of you, who are of Bolg’s company” … huom … though he ran in the wrong direction and them orcs obediantly followed the snaga, as he tried to wave some flag he captured … rhuoommm … so that’s what settled some part of the ‘Battle of the Five Armies’ … huommm … though I’m not sure about this, as it was long time ago and I really cannot recall each and every thing …. rhuoommm …. huom … can you? … rhuooommm… I’m not even sure if snagas were part of Bolg’s army …. huoomm …
see, you shouldn’t ask an End about those old matters … huommm … as far as I knowOctober 20, 2010 at 7:06 pm #12460If I can’t ask an End, thank Eru I can ask an Ent. Good story, Master Tree, and worth yet another free drink.
October 21, 2010 at 10:03 am #12475Please, give that man from the land somewehre down under a drink, Master Barliman. And I would be glad to join him . . .
October 21, 2010 at 11:47 am #12486Master Barliman, my Dentist told me I need to save my gum
otherwise I would loose every teeths…that beats everything for a hobbit!Don’t you have any chartreuse left ? I am sure it can do good to my health.
October 21, 2010 at 12:02 pm #12487Since it was probably my scrumpy that infected your gums, I’ll see what I can find. I have a nice fluoride-tasting beverage here. Do you want to try that? Chartreuse has too much sugar in it to do you much good.
October 21, 2010 at 12:10 pm #12488Let’s follow your advice. go for your fluoride tasting.
Glglglglgglglglg….that stuff tastes terrible…still…harf… wait…I feel something…my gum is growing !
Thanks !:lol::lol:October 21, 2010 at 12:10 pm #12489Cheers Archer of Mirkwood!
Drinks are always welcome! My goodness Master Forest Warden, that’s not good at all. I hope everything works out for you in that regard.
October 21, 2010 at 12:15 pm #12490Well Master caster, it is quite strange to learn that even if there is no tooth decay, you can loose every teeth…
Some bad bacterial took up residence in my gum.
It will take almost a year to get rid of these nasty germs…October 21, 2010 at 12:40 pm #12491The Herb Sage (in German Salbei) (Salvia Officinales) is very good to treat this!
You use the Herb and use it like you would make a tee. But you don’t drink it. You use it only to gargle. If you swollow some of the liquid, that’s no harm either.
You should be able to get this Herb in a Health food store.
1 Teespoon of Sage per 1/4 liter of boiled water., leave to seep for a few minutes, denn gargle with it.There is another Herb you can use, but I have to look it up first!
October 21, 2010 at 12:50 pm #12492I did not know you also have herbalist skills !
October 21, 2010 at 12:50 pm #12493Can I put it in the scrumpy? – I’m always looking for new ingredients to refine the flavour.
October 21, 2010 at 12:52 pm #12494The following are the needed herbs.: Eichenrinde ( Cortex Quercus – latin) , Frauenmantel (Alchemilla vulgaris – latin), Vogelknoeterich (Polygonum aviculare – latin), Salbei ( Sage – english) – ( Salvia Officinales- latin)
Mix 2 heaped teaspoons (same qty of each herb) with 1/2 liter of cold water. Leave overnight. Next morning warm the tea up ( not in microwave of course), and gargle ‘lukewarm” several times during the day. You can massage the tea into your gums and teeth with a soft toothbrush too!
October 21, 2010 at 12:57 pm #12495Master Barliman, I don’t know if this helps against hair growing on your teeth, (from what I have heard, that’s what scrumpy does), but it’s certainly worth a try besides a new “healthy” flavour ๐
